The latest issue of Over the Edge is nearly ready—and trust me, you’re going to love it. It features an interview with one of our favourite ladies, and let’s just say… I got to know her a little better than expected 🤪. It’s fun, a bit fascinating, and full of the kind of energy you come here for.
Now, while I’ve spent most of the week animating away in time for Halloween, I did manage a few gym sessions—and that’s where my mind started to wander…
💭 Fantasy time: Imagine being a personal trainer with a very specific request from your 25-year-old client. She’s not interested in carrots—she wants the stick. If she slacks off, she expects to be laid across your lap and reminded (firmly) why effort matters. Suddenly, sitting on the exercise bike becomes a whole new kind of challenge 😖.
And because it works so well—she’s glowing, toned, and confident—her friends want in. Next thing you know, you’re renting a room at the gym. It’s got one chair, a box of tissues, and absolutely nothing in the corners.
Soon, you’re running full classes. The ladies are working hard, but one of them tries to sneak a text mid-session. Not giving it her 💯? That’s a breach of contract.
And here’s where it gets deliciously awkward…
You call her forward. The room falls silent. Her gym buddies watch, wide-eyed, as she’s guided to your side. You sit down. She hesitates. You pat your lap. And then—red-faced, flustered, and fully aware of every gaze in the room—she goes over.
Just as you’re about to begin, one of the other ladies steps forward and silently hands you a wooden hairbrush. No words needed. Just a knowing look. The message is clear: make sure she feels it.
The sound of the first smack echoes like a motivational bell. Her workout is officially interrupted. The tissues? Suddenly very necessary.
The rest of the class? Motivated like never before.
Public demand explodes. T-shirts are printed:
“My gym instructor leads from behind”
“OTK Survivor”
And then… well, I’ll let you carry on the fantasy from there. But reckon it's not out of the question that in our real world maybe, just maybe, someone skipped the gym one day and asked their partner for a little “encouragement” to make sure they don’t miss the next one 😉
Anyway, I’m off to prep the post. Back soon!
