Jordan's out here making up his own cards, and Jarvis is playing with super rare vintage decks in Magic Arena.

Let us know what you think of this ep :)

I just played my first casual commander game at a store, I was using the Tegwyll Faerie precon. it was me and three other people, it felt like two of them were playing an entirely different game because they had what I would consider, league worthy decks. I think what made me realize how strong of a deck they were running was when I saw Sol Ring because I see a lot online that Sol Ring is the current meta. I would love your guys' take on what defines casual commander, and how to deal with people who bring really really strong decks to a casual commander game. :)

Love the show! Keep it coming. I also enjoy putting magic decks together to make a pre packaged board game experience. I highly recommend you check out this quick video on a format called battle box. Exciting 2 player games using a shared deck full of commons and uncommon with a focus on interaction and attacking. Lands in the command zone which makes it more like Hearthstone. Has been a big hit every time I bring it out. https://youtu.be/_3K75KYFoAk?feature=shared

Love listening to y’all and the guests talk about magic 😭🙌🏻 I’ve been slowly getting back into it over the last few years after basically giving up all hope of ever playing again around 2015. I’m also trying to build out some self contained head to head decks! Got a magic game night box a number of years ago and it’s the perfect way to get my casual friends to play with me. Trying to cook up some Bloodborne inspired stuff based on the Innistrad block (which was the block/set that came out when I started playing).

It's funny Fat Packs, which is what we call bundles now. Used to come with literal paperback books, and then a booklet that has extra lore descriptions and a gallery of every card in the set.

I loved watching the Game Knights episode you did, the build up was definitely worth it! Ify killing your Vigor was shocking. tbh I was screaming at my screen for you to attack with literally anything else so when he blocked it would've become +1/+1 counters but oh well. I also definitely need vigor for my jared, true heir deck so I'm jealous lol.

No pressure but if you made videos of you guys just playing magic together I would for sure watch. Like you could definitely start an mtg channel and I would subscribe in a heartbeat

Yuma was my first commander a few months ago, still loving him

I would love to see you on dropout or critical role or something playing magic. I know iffy has ties to both, so I think there's some connection there. Or even something on the patreon. Just something where time doesn't feel like it's a constraint like it can go 3 hours and no one's going to be like turned off by it.

tomorrow, im chairing a panel on ttrpgs at a conference for fantasy scholarship! one of my best friends is presenting a paper called "‘Horror Lurks Within’: World-building Through Intratextuality and Intertextuality in Magic the Gathering’s Innistrad Expansion." im so damn excited! i have tried to get into magic at several points in my life, but i feel like my coursework in fantasy literature (and having friends that want to make the game as accessible as possible) has weirdly made it more approachable. im gonna watch all sorts of mtg content tonight to try and get prepared, but i knew where to check first!
