i used to work at walmart and these guys came in doing a "prank" filming on their phones and it was so annoying man. they uploaded it to youtube and they're only bothering workers who are younger and look "weird" e.g. dyed hair or awkward tone. super annoying and honestly super mean ???

AbeilleAbbie

these guys have the energy of the boys who bullied people in my high school. they can generally seem like “good kids” but they have no regard for the people they make fun of and they normalize being cruel by hiding it behind “humor.” they’re the kind of people who made me feel unsafe as a kid.

AbeilleAbbie

maybe his content isn’t “dangerous” in an obvious sense, but i think it is insidious

themyrashow

Omg sameee!!! They should post them an hour apart!!! I’m halfway through the YouTube episode and switched to this for some reason 😂😂

Lily Delphia

“A spit-oriented instrument…” (laughs in bass trombone)

tiny door atelier

y'all are so much nicer about that guy than me, that content rubbed me the wrong way and I don't think I have any grace to give in thinking maybe it's unintentional. and calling a "friend" something that was an insult even when I was a teen? that's just cruel.

Fern Curle

a few years ago i was using they/them pronouns, i was in a shared space with someone for multiple weeks who, after i told them my pronouns, would come up to me and say “hi they/them!” and “what are you up to they/them?” as if it was name. i hate those types of people. also it’s always such a big talking point for conservatives to say that using they/them pronouns is grammatically incorrect, but have no problem calling someone “a they/them”

Tommy

You should release this episode on the main channel and put this dude on blast.

nahmaz

I'm noticing "did i assume gender" is more frequently said to women. we either get hit on or get some weak non-joke like this one. i don't mind a good sexist joke or whatever just TRY. "make a sandwich" "assume gender" "time of month" etc, so tired and just not funny. the humor is in the "overreaction" from the subject of the joke, not the joke cuz there is no joke.

Azarxii

Literally every annoying kid at my school wears that “Frick Vape” shirt, and the funny thing is, they all vape.

Gwen

I'm autistic and my interests/behavior can come across as immature/younger than I am (I'm 24) but I still respect boundaries, go to my full time job, and am not weird to kids lmao. It's okay to be childish, just do it with other childish adults. (I know you guys weren't saying anything against this point, just bringing it up.)

An August Virgo

very cringy, i hate when people do it 😔

An August Virgo

I'm far from the target audience for Baylen or whatever his name is, I don't understand the appeal but they're so popular with Gen Alpha kids, and maybe like younger Gen z

Maxine!!!

Hey real quick thing! When they're putting fake tattoos on the 14 year old they are using Posca pens (at least it really looks like it to me), a paint pen used by mostly artists. This is not the intended use of the product at all!! I'm not sure of the specific toxicity levels of the pens but I wouldn't personally trust using it on my face, especially when make up and fake tattoo pens are a thing that exist?? I dont know I really wanted to point that out becuase posca pens are like. For wood or plastic, and although lots of folks use them on paper you're not really supposed to do that because it eats up the paper/tears it, so not really meant for skin I'd say, let alone something so close to your eyes/mouth/nose

I interned at a homework cafe (place where kids come to get help with homework, get something to eat, and do some fun activities after school) and at the end of every month they'd have a birthday celebration for the kids who had their birthdays that month with cake and a gift card for the kids to use in various local shops. It's safe to say that these kids would not normally have much money to spend on silly fun stuff for themselves, and more than once I watched them get soo excited about the gift card because it meant that they could buy Prime, and then later conversations revealed that they didn't like it, and I just felt so bad for them that they'd used their birthday money on this expensive product being advertised to them.

Maxine!!!

Rewatching the clip now and it is definitely a Posca Pen for the red pen. Additionally they're using sharpie right in the corner of his eye!! This is like. Not just vaguly bad vibes this is dangerous and ill advised behavior that could have real health consequences for a child. Not to sound like a broken record but again, make up exists, there are products specifically designed to be safe to use on ones face. The level of unprofessionalism here is astounding

Caitlin L'hotellier

The age dating stuff I completely agree. I'm 25y. Even at 18y I never would have dated a 16y, that's weird as hell!! I'm part of an online group about age gaps. They did a poll for at what age did people in the group have age gap relationships. 200 said 18-21, 350 said 17 and under. So men in their usually late 20s, preyed on hundreds of women in this group alone. It's scary as hell.

Caitlin L'hotellier

Great point, you can be childish with other adults. Like Disney adults perhaps

Caitlin L'hotellier

It's not even grammatically incorrect 😂 very normal to say "they have gone to the shops" referring to 1 person.

Caitlin L'hotellier

Yep I am also disabled and work with kids with intellectual disability. I was disgusted

Frank

I’m not sure how he got to hang out with Sebas to begin with… I’m a camp counselor and it’s completely against our contract and training to even let them follow us on social media. I’m 19 but I’ve been working as a counselor since I was 17 and it’s just- so odd- I would never willingly hang out with those kids outside of the camp settings.

Ad Lester

hearing cameron dallas’s name was a trip I remember him from being a “pretty boy” on vine 😭

kate

big day for me, who originally joined the patreon to hear the story last time jarvis got confronted

sydney

as a sax player who owns a mature people are weenies shirt i feel so seen rn

Tyla Stark

I feel so bad for Sebas. The power dynamic is so screwed. These older guys make fun of him and use him for content. I hope he's getting a fair cut of the pay, but I seriously doubt that's happening. So then, as content, he's the butt-monkey, so then the audience views him that way, and there are probably plenty of fans who carry on that "joking" (bullying) behavior with him. I hope he has at least a friend or two his own age. Poor kid.

Tyla Stark

In elementary/middle school one of my friends was ~1.5-2 years older than me, and she had two older sisters. So naturally if they were all around, as the youngest, I became the butt-monkey. I stopped hanging around them in high school, but it still took a few years to realize just how cruel they could be sometimes, and how they would play me because I was the baby. And that was like a millionth of the intensity that this Sebas kid has to deal with. Poor kid.

Saam Ahmed

fave moment so far is “the dude of color here” LMAO

rivercxrpse

Jarvis i understand you never wanna jump to a conclusion or be too judgemental upfront but it feels a bit harmful to act like it’s not problematic just to do what that guy did in the first video. the tapping the hair the durag being a joke like there’s still a lot THERE that’s bad

rivercxrpse

yeah. i think i still hold this point, as a trans fan, at very least i feel it’s harmful to excuse the ‘They/Them’ video by just calling it mean. it’s not just mean, it perpetuates more transphobia and gives the decently sized fanbase this guy has a sense of comfort abt their bigotry. obviously we should try to change peoples minds before giving up but this just felt a bit like playing the devils advocate TOO much.

rivercxrpse

yes thank you!! that’s how i felt a bit. i know they mean well and i don’t think it’s that bad of a mistake, but i wish these 2 pushed back a bit more. it felt like i was being defended (part of the trans community) but the defense was walked back in hopes to not come off mean. these things need to be sternly addressed

Rachel Eakes

i cant belove i came back from 3 days with no internet to Jarvis being confronted AGAIN

Username Guest

Yeah I think he might be worried of the guys community coming to a attack him. Definitely felt that Jarvis was too nonchalant about this whole thing

rivercxrpse

yeah i could see that :/ it just genuinely hurt to hear him be a bit too nonchalant and than Jordan saying what he was doing in the They/Them video wasn’t dangerous and everyone kinda agreed it’s just mean but….im a trans person and i know exactly how people like that guy having a platform enforces transphobia

rivercxrpse

it was never funny tho😭hoping u mean they should at least not fail at being losers and not genuinely saying they should just try different sexist jokes

rivercxrpse

when ur content contributes to enforcing transphobia which also leads to trans people getting killed for existing i feel like it’s considered dangerous. (not any sternness meant towards u)

midwest elf

alright I folded. I’ve used my discretionary entertainment funds for the encounter

princecorgi

i feel you. i can get being scared but they retreated to their patreon because they didn't want this baylen guy's community to send them hate in a public setting. idk if they read these comments but i hope that they at least see urs and like, idk reflect a little bit? and stop being hesitant to be harsher against ppl like this. as a nonbinary guy i get kind of tired of cis ppl trying to talk about our issues but being so hesitant to be "too mean" or to talk about certain issues because they dont know enough information.

Carolina Lawson

I’m a woman who turned 25 in February and my fiancé is a straight man who turned 24 in May. I work full time in immigrant advocacy/interpretation and my soon to be husband immigrated from Türkiye by himself when he was 22. There is no world in my mind where either of us who are close to this guy’s age would think it is okay to “hang out with” a 14 year old or called ourselves a KID. Performing these skits and using a 14 year old as a token POC to make fun of is super fcked up, especially having a child audience. Knowing the age differences now I feel like y’all are going a bit too easy on him… To me after 22 this behavior pretty quickly turns from immature to not okay or at worst creepy. I hope he turns things around😅

Carolina Lawson

Something I like about Jarvis is the compassion he often gives to people he criticizes in order to allow them room to change. I think they’re being charitable to this guy bc of his age but yeah in this case they went too easy on him

Carolina Lawson

I’m so sorry you have to deal with that crap. Your identity is valid and you deserve to be protected. I know you already know that but just a reminder from across the void🫶🏻

Aiden

Hello Boyz!! Your podcast has been my comfort watch for some time. I had to say goodbye to my sweet old dog Junebug yesterday after many years of comfort and happiness. I need some extra comfort rn so it seemed high time I used my discretionary entertainment funds to join the Patreon. Happy to be here and support the Boyz!

Bea

Yeah, I felt that way when they made the "special" joke. Like the joke isn't "stupid". The joke is about being mentally disabled. Like they were basically saying the r slur with the context they were using. Like that to me required WAY more scrutiny. Just disgusting stuff to do, and it was a bummer that they barely touched on it and then said "I don't think it's harmful". Like that shit is harmful

rivercxrpse

thank you Carolina🩵genuinely

rivercxrpse

yeah like the crew reacted how i expected….and then they didn’t rly say anything abt that part after and STILL chose to call it not dangerous

Nichole

This is one of those instances where I feel like they absolutely overcorrected too hard. While I appreciate that Jarvis tries to give people the benefit of the doubt, sometimes when he couches things with "again, I don't know the story behind this" or whatever, I just want to be like, "Not everything needs complete context before you can say it's bad, my guy."

rivercxrpse

exactly. like there’s no context where transphobia racism and ableism are excused and even if they phrase it to sound like they’re just explaining the logic they give no pushback afterwards and it’s depressing. i’m genuinely hesitant to even watch their new episode because i have a feeling they won’t address things and i refuse to support people who call the shit that makes my life no where near as easy as someone who’s cis and straight

midwest elf

hello fellow Aidan (we spell it differently, but anyways) !! I hope you’re able to take some time to grieve properly as pet loss is so challenging. All the positive vibes your way🫶

Alex

Welcome to the show, Aiden. RIP to your good old friend, sounds like he got a lot of love, theres not much more a pup, or a person, can ask. Hope the pain softens for you and enjoy the podcast.:)

Lee U

That's scary

Lee U

Yeah as an afab nb it sucks too bc like, it reveals that femme ppl and trans men are so transparently viewed as just women by those people

nickyyy777

WHAT DID JORDAN WHISPER WHAT AM I MISSING😭

Vynnie

I thought they were being very lax on him too especially because I know they’re not afraid to call people out who make inconsiderate and/or x-phobic content. Plus this is a patreon episode where they don’t have to cater to a broader audience. Them not addressing it doesn’t make me think they condone it or anything because they’re pretty explicit about their beliefs usually, but it did seem strange. I think the they/them joke isn’t that harmful in comparison to other types of jokes that could be made, it mostly seems like the kind of jokes immature high school boys make, which is kinda the guys’ identity. If anything his treatment of the kid is more of a prevalent harm, and one that Jarvis and Jordan would be more aware of personally as two black guys, so it makes sense that they would louder about calling that out. Overall, I think they’re response could have been more aggressive but they did use the word “transphobic” to describe the joke

maroon 5 (cat)

im 18 and I'd feel uncomfortable hanging out with a 14 year old! cannot imagine being 22 and one of my friends being that age.

Oonerg

99% sure he said that the guy looks like tommyinnit LMAO,, i see it
