CAN I HAVE YOUR NUMBER SKIT MENTION (I never watched madtv and was shown this is middle school and became hyper fixated on it for like a year straight

Is it just my Patreon app being weird or is this audio only? Or is there a video part that's later?

Bryce Corrigan

Mine is also audio only. My guess is a camera issue since there was a delay too.

emmy25

Welp... I guess it’s safe to assume the video version got corrupted? Many many thanks for this audio ❤️

sadboyz

video seems to be working now! is anyone else having audio only issues?

Laura

No video as far as I can tell unfortunately

sadboyz

video looks like it exists on our backend so i'm currently under the impression that there's a patreon bug. we might try re-uploading - jarvis

brooklynn

i also only have the audio:(

mattiek

Ahhh the video hath arrived

Jori

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who embarrassed themselves trying to figure out a new fangled rental.

The thing about AI checkers is that they will mark my fully self written essays as 90% AI 😵‍💫 but it is also very easy to use them to rewrite stuff so that the checkers dont say that.

D Zwanz

I see video 🤙

Air Stratus

I see video on my end. Might be fixed?

Loved the AI in academics discussion. I’m about to graduate from college and a final project for a class was a 2-part group assignment in which one of our groupmates entirely used AI for their sections after it was run through an AI generator. Myself and the two other people in our group were left in such a weird spot bc we could all get in trouble for undisclosed AI usage on the assignment and it was so weird, and frustrating, and disappointing tbh

Ty Hardnett

holy the can i have your number video was erased from my mind but im so glad jarvis brought it up

Gabrielle Piela

Thanks for talking about that AI article. It’s been making me feel……weird. I teach undergrad psychology and am about to graduate with my PhD and I often wonder what I would have done if I was where my students are now. It’s very clear to me when they use AI, but it feels like an impossible task to make them care about it. A lot of them want to go to graduate school and I have a lot of concerns about how AI will impact clinical psych practice. Anywho, helps me feel sane to hear other people talk about it!

"where is the friction that reminds me I'm alive" Jordan quotes that go hard

re: the sperm races-- there actually was more of a relation between the sperm races, cheating, and ai than you realized! thats because the sperm races were completely falsified. sooo many healthcare workers and scientists online have stated that what they saw is not how sperm move at all and also that the size variation was nonexistent. amanda swell did a review video of the event and has it on video that the "race" started before the "specimens" were even put on the track. the REASON they were doing it was as a sporting event (marketing it as a mens health event), and they were sponsored by polymarket the gambling service. so its entirely possible (probable, even) that a gambling sponsor was taking a lot of peoples money for a "race" that was not only rigged, but entirely manufactured digitally.

kate

i can totally relate to this. i’m in college, and for a group project I was in part of the assignment was to submit feedback to our group mates. instead of actually glancing at the work, one of my groupmates fed everybody else’s feedback into chatgpt. not only didn’t do their part, but used everyone else’s work to train the response. i felt like i was going insane.

I was an English tutor in college (I went to community college first) and several people asked me to either write their essays for them or ask me how they could plagiarize without getting caught. This was in 2011-2012! And these weren't ESL students, these were students in the high level of English you could take at the school (English C). This country has had an illiteracy problem and I knew it was only a matter of time before AI started to negatively affect the way students learn.

Cassie

The Vegas story is so funny because my best friend and I also have the same birthday and we too have planned trips to the same location at the same time without telling each other

ALSO you guys should have a Bay Area meetup!!!

Joob

I’d get in so much trouble if I used ai for my assignments. At most I’ve used it to help me understand certain topics but often times it would spit out things that are just wrong. If you have no knowledge of the subject at all you could really end up digging your own grave?!? Like how do people pass classes that way

SammyCat

Def need more dipper cameos

I just graduated with my bachelor’s in art history and have spent years honing my writing skills. I poured my blood, sweat, and tears into my coursework. And nothing can express my profound disappointment after I presented my senior seminar thesis, and the next girl followed it up with clumsy, ChatGPT-written nonsense. It’s not only hurting yourself when you use AI, but it’s also so offensive to your professors and peers who actually put the work in.

Air Stratus

I remember thinking the Can I Have Your Number video was funny as a kid, but now that I’m an adult who uses public transportation everyday, it’s hysterical. Average subway interaction after 5 pm

Annika Cambigue

Omg I read this article!! Lee sounded so insufferable lol

Kebbobebop

Happy birthday! It’s my bday today:) I hope everyone is having a good day:D Badlands chugs is such a great throwback and bday gift lol Jarvis’s continuous yearning for his wife makes me feel not so bad about my own yearning of My Person wherever they may be

dee

indianapolis mentioned!!

Lily Delphia

Happy belated birthdays to you both. And shoutout to Carl the Gossip King ❤️

I feel like if I had no morals I would use AI for my gradschool work. Many professors gave up in some stuff, and its tanked my mental health listening to the response of "if you are too depressed to do an assignment, just use AI to get through it!" as genuine advice from my fellow students. Like, thanks, now I know all that's stopping me from getting through this is my moral integrity. This is grad school. And its making me question if I want to move foward in life. It sucks that I got flagged as AI a few times too since my language in essays is formal, because I'm autistic as hell and I dont even know what's the point anymore. Everyone around me doesn't want to be human anymore, they just feed themselves to the machine.

Skye Keating

I know the exact scene they're talking about near the end with homophobia in the first season of the revival of Doctor Who. It's in the 4th episode of the series "Aliens of London," which introduces the Slitheen. It does take place with Rose and the Doctor sitting on a roof, but it's in modern-day (2005) London. I remember this because when I rewatched Doctor Who a year or two ago, I was also somewhat surprised, especially by how casual it is.

how does little britain have 100% on rotten tomatoes

I had professors in college (2023 grad) that would run our essays through an ai program to catch plagiarism/ai writing. if it was above a certain percentage they would make us rework it. But the issue is that this is a flawed system, humans can only write certain thoughts in so many different ways, I would be flagged for plagiarizing some ones essay from a college across the country from 2010, that I would have absolutely no way of accessing to plagiarize from. It was incredibly frustrating having to rewrite my own work because my professors couldn’t fathom the computer being wrong.

Lee U

Ok but those crock pot liners are great for accessibility 🔥 My elderly dad uses them and it's allowed him to keep cooking with his crock pot longer than he would have

Lee U

Oh i remember that system! It checked against every essay fed into that system too they used them in my high school. I got flagged for plagerism once from a part of my essay I was quoting the primary source before analyzing it lol.

Kschiwy

oh yeah I was flagged for quoting all the time too. insanely stupid ai system. just goes to show, teachers can be lazy too<3

Steff

That's some of my concern too, the real life implications of how it will impact certain fields where you really actually need to have deep knowledge and comprehension of the subject. I know there are tests and such to help weed people out, but if some is good at memorizing and also just blew through things using AI and not actually learning....in some fields that is a scary thought 😭 there were already crappy people that made it through to medical settings and such before AI, now it feels almost easier to be one of those people 😔

Steff

I've been out of school for a while (which at this point I'm actually glad for, the vibe of schooling now seems so off sometimes imo), but I wonder if the prevalence of chatgpt and such is going to lead to changes in grading structure?

Steff

(sorry lol hit enter by accident). Like, to combat the potential issues, in class tests and such would end up being the bulk of the grades (moreso than they already might have been), etc. Idk idk it's a tricky thing.

Bun

I never got Little Britain, it was never funny. I was so confused me why it was on TV so long

Alex Arbogast

Cimoooooo crossover with Jarvis was NOT on my 2025 bingo card

The "Can I Have Your Number" video is still so hilarious to me. Old sketch comedy was definitely problematic at times, but wow it was funny. Also May babies are the best babies, but as a May Gemini, I'm definitely superior (j/k ilu)
