I just need to comment that I had the craziest experience while watching this, because I was doomscrolling and I swear at least 10 times, y'all said an exact word that I had just read, or started talking about an exact thing that was in the reel I was watching. Like I literally was reading a 9/11 joke and Anastasia said 9/11. I was watching a video of turtles running when Jarvis said turtles all the way down. I think I need to put my phone away for the rest of this video.

im not here to "um, actually", i just wanna say furry art isn't an instant payout "easy money" gig like people make it out to be, any freelance artist still has to work hard just to get commissions let alone fulfill them, and the mythical rich patron commissioner is kind of a 1 in a million lucky pull. plus being freelance means no benefits or insurance coverage unless you pay out of pocket. there's also an unspoken bias towards certain styles and subject matter, you're either lucky enough to be mainstream and fit the mainstream ideal of "talented" or you're obscure and loved by a niche audience and your best hope is to be "your favorite artist's favorite artist"

Oh man the quote from bluesky of the person who says "Well I'm doing fine" while asking for donations is so real. I see this so much, where someone will say something like "I can't believe a person making x is struggling, my life would be so easy if I had that amount". And it's like, no, you are living in poverty, living with your parents (no hate to that btw), selling blood and eating ramen every night. You have a LONG way to go to actually be living comfortably, including the amount this person making double what you are is making. Also, I'm a game dev, and something like 10-30% of the game industry was laid of in the past two years, no joke or hyperbole. My old boss who worked at Microsoft for 24 years as a high ranking manager was laid off last month. Bluesky follower count is not going to help at all, when even those deep connections within the company itself didn't stop that.

The 25 brain development thing isn't true, it keeps developing as long as you're learning until it starts to decline. Which for most people is around 30-40 with the major shrinking starting at like 60ish.
