Hey, we love your stuff but your subtitles on Patreon are just atrocious. Like it can barely say your names right, let alone anything else. Large portions of the videos are entirely uncaptioned. My wife is Deaf and signed up bc your YT channel has great captions and is awesome, but this is just... really rough. Can you please, please hire a captionist for Patreon? If you don't know any other captionists, I've been in that industry for years... But surely your main captionist could do these videos too?

You can send the unlisted video to non patrons as long as you have the link: aka piracy. Harder to pirate patreon videos. Also iirc, unlisted YouTube videos can still get you claimed for copyright by the automatic detection/a flag for content not allowed, so they wouldn’t be able to play any music or feature anything not safe for YouTube.

Even tho I don't really think chai tea is actually that bad, but chai and tea are almost the same word already so I get it. I think the vast majority who use RSVP don't even think about the fact it's an acronym, let alone that it means réspondez s'il vous plaît. Also, while typing this I realized it isn't really as contradictory because the please in please RSVP is more about kindly noting that it would be preferable for you to respond to this without demanding. So in English please has kinda lost the aspect of it being more at the discretion of the person being spoken to. Btw I just like talking about language, I'm not having a reddit moment right now lol I promise.

I agree, but their editor could easily input better subtitles, or pay someone to do them right. Or even, if they think that's too difficult, run it through youtube's captioning generation service and then scrape the SRT file to obtain better captions. It's super easy, and it makes a huge difference to d/Deaf and HoH viewers! My wife had to completely give up on watching them because they can't understand anything. It sucks so much.

YouTube does not generate the subtitles, there is a subtitler for the podcast and a separate one for Jarvis's channels. The difficulty with also getting subtitles for patreon is likely a) time (subtitles take longer to do than the video run time), and b) you then have to pay someone to do those additional subtitles which, if you're paying a fair rate for the amount of time it actually takes, ends up being a good amount.
