Camille

omg I’m here so early hello folks

Lizzie

Just want to point out the false information about Ben being arrested many times. The only times Ben has been arrested was two times and both for this particular investigation. He’s never been arrested before this. He’s also not Mormon.

Lizzie

Furthermore, both arrests seem based on the unredacted body cam footage to be pretty suspect. The cops WANTED to find a reason to arrest him because they found him annoying.

Inazo

Hey so to clarify, the store was a branch of bricks and minifigs owned by a couple who were doing the consignment deal. The company waited until all of the lego had been placed in the store and then forcibly kicked out the owners and took their store so they could claim the consignment was unauthorized. Not true

Inazo

I understand you haven't looked into the lego thing yet but I hope you do because a lot of the assumptions you made in the beginning were kinda unintentionally biased or wrong. Not at all hating, just genuinely hopeful you do a deep dive and come back to it.

Elizabeth Darling

As someone who has unfortunately been informed of the whole LEGO situation, I just hope we can all come to a similar conclusion... That regardless of what is "right," Reckless Ben is so fucking insufferable.

meow_mix_69

Whoa I was not expecting something so local to me to go viral. I live near bricks and minifigs and only heard about this yesterday 😳

Greg Lindsey

I read recently that gene-edited cells were successfully transplanted into a person with diabetes (don’t remember which type) and the cells successfully produced insulin and weren’t rejected by the recipient due to the gene editing. Could be a massive breakthrough if further studies succeed!

Hannah

I did see a case for Peeps’ bird prediction: “The Rusty Lark, a small bird thought to be extinct for nearly a century, has been photographed for the first time.”

yjw

as a german, very funny to watch yall find berlin and somehow you guys managed to put the dot in one of the most dead areas of the country (im from there, i can say it)

Ben Hillard

I've watched a couple of the reckless ben videos and the Legos have almost been written out on the plot in my opinion. It's now his battle against the police force and that one bald guy.

Gwen

To go along with Anastasia's grape, there was a pair of Juncos at my work that my coworkers and I watched them build a nest, lay their eggs, then the eggs hatched, we watched the babies grow up, and we say them when they left and were practicing flying. It was a very exciting few weeks, I love babies season

Ev

to jordan’s ship of theseus species question— by definition, if an organism shares enough of the same genetic composition as another organism, they are the same species. so if you bring back a mammoth that is 90% of the old mammoth genetically, then by definition they are the same species. yay!

BTW, serving papers is very much a thing in most European and other jurisdictions. Definitely not a North American thing. It’s an extremely important principle for legal certainty and should be considered as a safeguard instead of a hindrance If you cannot serve your papers and can prove it, you can obtain a decision by default

Nebraska Mentioned W Omaha Mentioned W College World Series MENTIONED W That being the question before the full Charles Schwab Stadium is covered in folks for it this week is Wild

The hair pull thing is only an ouchie if you're like really inflexible or the guy pulls hair the wrong way

On the subject of diabetes, at least with Type 2, there are so many drugs out there to treat diabetes. That’s what Ozempic was originally for. Type 2 diabetes is 100% treatable. The problem is that a large proportion of patients don’t take the medicine and they don’t change their diet or increase exercise. And I live in a country with free healthcare and reasonable access to fresh fruit and vegetables. I know there are many reasons why people struggle to get T2 under control, so to be clear I’m not shaming anyone. And the situation is different in the US where medication is unaffordable to a lot of people and food laws are lax so the quality of food is garbage and eating healthily is much harder. Also type 1 is treatable with insulin and there are other experimental things going on like islet cell transplants.

But don’t even get me started on how many billions have been spent on researching viagra etc but no-one really started researching endometriosis and PCOS until like 15-20 years ago!!!!!

I got confused when you guys were talking about it being Spring cause in Australia we start the seasons on the 1st of the month. And our seasons should be opposite.

RE: cop on love island usa theres actually a detective on love island UK this season (her name is Lola) which resulted in a scene in the first episode where the guy she walked in with is an actor on west end (his name is Ope) and was yes and-ing her and was like "oh youre a detective? well arrest me to show us!" except the guy she walked in with is black and the girl is white and all the comments on reddit were like uhh lets not maybe?? the guy also was like "pretend youre arresting me for shoplifting!" and the woman was like "oh i was just going to arrest you for being too sexy or something?" it was such a wild interaction to witness as an American viewer

Vynnie

Have yall heard of Worldle? It’s a geography game I think the crew would like. It gives you the outline of a country and you’ve got 6 tries to get the correct country

becky

The Minish Cap joke was absolutely unmatched, bravo sir 👏🏻

bingobongo

Got pulled over by American Fork police and they gave me a dui warning for taking cold medicine I WAS GOING TO URGENT CARE TO GET MY KIDNEY INFECTION LOOKED AT. Utah police don't have real crime so they make up bullshit to feed their cop fantasies

Ethan Provençal

me 3 weeks late, seeing the comments overridden by Reckless Ben truthers (i think?)

charlie

tbh i think the distinction between extinction and extirpation is just people being pedantic and annoying. geographic variation is a well-known thing atp, so if the reintroduction program was specifically breeding for that geographic variant, that should absolutely count. local extinction is a serious issue, and it’s super cool to see de-extinction programs focusing on that!!

Kida Maj

ik I'm late to this ep but kinda similar(?) ig to the birds you were mentioning being re-released in Japan from China, but a lot of wildlife conservation uses similar species programs to promote the survival and spread. In Florida, for example, Florida Panthers (which are still critically endangered), underwent a genetic synthesis with Texas cougars to try and keep the species from going extinct. So technically people say that there are no true "FL panthers" anymore, but this is technically a misconception, as the panthers are still considered geographically and genetically distinct (I really love fl panthers if you can't tell lol).
