corporations discontinuing physical media while public interest in physical media has been rising since the mid-2010s really underscores to me how the average consumer is not even participating in the larger economy. somehow companies are getting bigger despite everyone I know wanting to buy CDs & DVDs, borrow books from the library, and doing clothing swaps with their friends. maybe we're crazy outliers here or in positions of privilege but it's just so confusing to see corporations making these moves that feel SO incongruous with cultural trends

Butt Ugly Martians mentioned! I see you Jordan, I watched that ugly ass show too!

GazThePossum

I think they were confusing Qdoba with Quiznos

Rory

Fr it's a control thing. I know some people buying vhs movies for their kids for the physical media property. Also gives them some nice lore

foxtrot

that is suchhhh a Straight Man's ranking of hot men

Heather

i had my taco bell delivered in a qdoba van once. that was a weird night

Jess Smith

this would make so much more sense, I fucking love Qdoba and also I see them all over the place 😭

piracy is the only way I've been able to see some of my absolute favourite media. as an artist myself, I'd love to support the creators, but if there isn't even an option to do it, I don't have a choice.. and when it comes to games and movies, I know the creators aren't getting paid based on costumer purchase, the company is.

Greg Lindsey

The next time they’re in the Illinois/Wisconsin area they *have* to get Culver’s.

Bailey Mooney

Would love to see y’all play flagdoku

Ben Hillard

Did Gene Wilder sound like David Spade?

This kind of behavior is almost certainly an outlier, you are just around like-minded people so the prevalence seems outsized. The average person is completely fine streaming everything, they certainly aren't looking for "outdated" media like DVD's and CD's for daily use and all the additional hardware that entails when they can just use the phone they already have. Your average ball and gun console player probably doesn't have a strong opinion on Sony's discontinuation of discs, maybe unless they're older and have always bought their games at a brick-and-mortar out of habit. And that's assuming they're even tapped in enough to know about the decision. Collecting physical media is still very much "hipster" behavior, for lack of a better term. And like a lot of trends before it, it might be more widely adopted but its not there yet. The average person who is casually engaging in these forms of entertainment appreciate the convenience of digital media and don't think about it much beyond that, or they simply don't have the resources (time, money, knowledge, etc.) to engage beyond that.

i went to the nicest bk i have ever been too with the freshest and hottest meal i've ever gotten from fast food. they had rustic chandlers. it was so clean. they had the nice big kiosks. (i am also biased toward bk bc they are the only big fast food brand that has impossible burger)

Adrian 🧜‍♀️

Jordan is so right about five guys. Expensive but worth it with all those toppings 🍔

Nephaelia

I LOVED Culver’s in the Midwest but when I moved to Colorado, we got them last week and the burger was very mid. I think it might have just been that it was almost entirely staffed by high schoolers tho (no shade to them, just… ya know lol)

Mattie

The men ranking is 100% mostly millennial women.

I’ve been playing a game called “Worldle” where it gives you a random country’s shape and you have to figure out which country it is. Similarly, there’s another game called “Travle” where it gives you two countries and you have to find a route between the two that goes through the least amount of countries

Elijah Walker

You guys have never had the double del cheeseburger have you, get it go bold. Then the cheesecake bites as well your life will change.

Drawn at Random

next trip they go on needs to be to the midwest just so they can learn it's a real place lmao

basil 🪽

as a taco johns employee i about shat myself at the mention of it. no one knows we exist

Silver

That blind ranking site has such a bad framing. They should just remove the leaderboard and let you blind rank. I get that its supposed to make it communal, but giving me a score when I say which games I do or don't like is just kinda dumb.

Abi Rose

as a nearly 28 year old woman i personally would put george clooney in the top slots he’s absolutely so hot going to add edits to this as i watch channing tatum normal? low, very low. channing tatum with gambit aura?? quite high but not passing george clooney and CERTAINLY not passing pedro (top slot personally) or even tom hiddleston okay official order FOR ME nearly 28 yo woman: pedro pascal robert pattinson oscar isaac george clooney zac efron any era tom hiddleston (idk the kpop boy, don’t come for me, but he’d be here) shawn mendes justin bieber i think? channing tatum AS GAMBIT chris pratt AS STAR LORD

Claire

theres also globle where you have to guess the mystery country! it gives a map and a color based on how close you are to the correct country

Savanah Jett

Re bk: I love their terrible onion rings and original chicken sandwich. I’ve never liked the burgers.

Luna Lugosi

There are so many voice actors and character actors that do spot on impressions. They couldn’t find a human to emulate him?
