Real ball knowers know that the maid character from The Jeffersons, “Florence” (played by Marla Gibbs), also got a spin off show called 227. The sitcom 227 is where acclaimed actors Jackée Harry and a young Regina King got their big breaks. Florence’s husband was played by the renowned actor Hal Williams who had previously co-starred in the iconic sitcom Sanford & Sons. Sadly Hal passed away last month (and was a close family friend. May he rest in peace 💜)

This is only slightly related but I started cheerleading here in Australia like almost 20 years ago. The sport is pretty big here now but back then it was pretty small, and for the national championships they would rent out part of a large convention centre (they now rent out the whole thing). And one year the convention centre was also hosting Sexpo at the same time. I remember getting out of the car in my cheer uniform with my mum and my sister, and at the same time a couple in full latex fetish wear got out of the car next to us. It was actually a huge fuckup because there were thousands of CHILDREN coming in through the same entrances as the adults going to Sexpo. Like I’m not a prude, but I just don’t understand how anyone didn’t stop to think about having those things on the same day???? Statistically speaking there would be some creeps attending Sexpo, and cheerleaders are already so sexualised in society and also a lot of the competitors were literal children. Absolutely bonkers.

Similar to mr mosby, Mathew Broderick has gone on to play murderer's in shows desite having killed two women in my country with his car and then buying a house to vacation in every year RIGHT BY THE VICTIMS FAMILY'S HOUSE. Hasn't apologised and pretends he can't remember doing it.

For context, in 1987 he was driving intentionally down the wrong side of the road in Ireland. I say intentionally because he was stopped by police and told to stop doing that. He then continued to speed down the wrong side of the road and hit a car with two women who both died. He refused to admit any fault or guilt because he claimed the crash made him forget what happened. He was then so unapologetic about it that he actually bought a house near the families of those two women he killed and would holiday there every year. So when I saw him in daybreak playing a happy murderer I got nightmares for a few weeks. It was genuinely very upsetting. He's a terrible human being for what he did even just to the victims families.

His charge was reduced from causing two deaths to a reckless driving charge of less than 200 dollars.. On top of going on to play roles where he murders without apathy, he also did a car ad for the super bowl. You know, that thing he killed with.

As an ace queer woman (so it's very rare that I would actually be interested in men approaching me lol), my main rule of thumb for men to think about is "could the questions im asking also be used to commit a crime on this person". Like even though im not interested 90% of the time, I'm also happy to make small talk about a common interest or something relevant to the setting (like talking about the menu of the coffee shop we're at or whatever). It's when it gets into information like: what hotel are you staying at, who are you here with, where do you work, how long are you in town, etc that yes, could very well be normal friendly small talk, but could also be used to track you down at a later point, know that no one would notice if you were missing, etc that it starts getting into Creepy territory and that's unfortunately the reality of the kinds of thing women have to think about. That's also why I did enjoy that video they referenced about giving context, bc like yeah if you say like "hey I'm new to town and looking for my new coffee spot, do you like this place a lot or is there somewhere else you like more?" and then no other weird questions/vibes I'm probably going to appreciate it and talk with you more than a no context "you here often?" type of question y'know

from what i can tell about slutcon is that most people are clowning on it not because it's cringe (or at least not exclusively), but because diana fleischman is, at best, a eugenics apologist. so far adam and one other person dropped out when people called them out on it, and as of a few days ago diana was no longer on the graphic but her workshops were still on the schedule

I have a couple "asking out" horror stories... but one of the worst ones was closing the store I worked in at the mall, and the kiosk guy trapped me in my store until I agreed to go on a date. His kiosk was right next to my store so there was no avoiding him until I decided to quit :') Also a sneaky one... if someone asks you to use your phone to call their friend, consider they're just calling themselves so they have your number... when I blocked them they came back to see if I was still there. Asked my friend to walk me to that class for the rest of the semester. -Maka

I’m actually taking an advanced psychology lecture on sexual attraction, and it’s really a fascinating field. But you’d be shocked how quickly the awkwardness dies when a discussion is so clinical. My friend's mom lives next to a golf course and has gotten hit a few times when standing in her yard and even once IN her house. Her windows get broken pretty often and if you think about the force needed to do that. Ouch. It leaves huge welts every time. The hole isn't even in that direction. Golfers are confidently incorrect sometimes. Swinging with full force and reckless abandon.
