Zendaya is Meechee forever and always

Abigail

Unasked for medical info so feel free to ignore: there is a new-ish procedure for fluid behind the ears called “Balloon dilation of the Eustachian tube” where they inflate a tiny balloon in your ear for 2 minutes and it helps the eustachian tube stay open for months (The way the body works is wild!) Obviously don’t know if it would work for you but it might be worth asking an ENT about if your ears are really bothering you!

Dakota Akechi

Oh hell yeah, the day after I subscribe there's a brand new episode? Feelin spoiled here

Victoria Gray

dating apps in LA bad to we need walkable cities pipeline is so real

Kate

The way I was nodding along when jarvis was talking about hating how dating apps suck and how hard it is to meet people organically while actively swiping through a dating app

Kaitlin Stevens

Me and my sister were peeing our pants at the little mermaid commentary 😭

Ratprints

I hope you find a dating solution and someone you'd see yourself dating for longer, Jarvis! Totally understand "not poisoning the well", I'm polyamorous and dating in poly friend groups can get very complicated.

Alek.Sparks

I can't relate to the dating app thing, but what Jarvis is describing about the numbers game (having to swipe on so many people for just a few matches) feels like job applications nowadays. And jesus, if that's the case, then holy fuck yeah it is definitely exhausting and brings you down.

Alek.Sparks

Also Jarvis talking about giving commentary while watching lost, that's my favorite type of person to watch stuff with when they can give me all the tidbits and commentary, I think it's so fun.

Boxcar Willie Nelson Mandela Effect

I love how the patreon material has a hanging-out-after-the-show-at-a-live-jazz-coffee-shop-at-2am-and-it's-raining vibe Love the intro music, love the next level chill of the whole thing 🪷

Mariya

I worked at a small but powerful tech company for 7 years and there was a red wedding mass firing *almost* every jan/feb. The turn over was NUTS. My teammates were dropping like flies around me and tbh it was traumatizing lol. No one felt secure in their position anymore. Somehow i dodged all the firings. I watched people pack their things up and cry

Angelica Shipps

Love the relax and comfy feels in this ep. Jarvis, I hope you find your person that appreciates/supports you and your endeavors.

Lea Coenen

shoutout so Sad Boyz for distracting me from the mess that my existence currently is :D but seriously I appreciate the effort and heart that obviously goes into this!

Jack Jack

Just joined the Patreon and I’ve been listening to all of the episodes while studying for my finals, been super nice and chill to have on in the background :)

It's a-me

That music scared my cat

Susie Nicolaysen

the closed captions on the ruff has me dying

Kate Castello

fantastic episode, as always :D i have been listening to the pod to go to sleep recently and was awoken to “Who Let the Dogs Out (but worse)” which was honestly a frightening experience. you guys never fail to make me laugh :)

Lunar_Vortex

the problem with dating apps for me is that i can be active on them for months and get no matches at all, but when i show my friends my profile they say there's nothing wrong with it. after a while i gave up because it was making me feel like shit :(

Vi's corner

The only time I tried a dating app, an ISIS member tried to recruit me so I deleted the app and never looked back. Then a man DMed me on Pinterest asking me to be his dominatrix. It made me realized that a lot of people online don't know how to act or how to interact with others. The whole swiping concept changes everyone into intangible numbers, fun facts and profile pics. Very tiring

Theodora Undergrove

This episode I listened to on Thursday! I was cleaning the bathrooms in my place of work for most of the podcast. Adin Ross is weird, and it was fun to hear about that stuff from the podcast! Towards the end I was just in the custodian closet sitting down and writing things in my journal and it felt very nice.

D R

About to listen but wanted to report my undying loyalty to both sad boyz. my sister asked if I listened to "Jarvis Johnson's podcast" and I stared at her for a moment while my brain started working and then said "do you mean Jarvis AND JORDAN'S podcast??" she said "oh, yeah" but I was offended on jordans behalf. I'm God's bravest little soldier sticking up for the underdog.

Lost Vegas

This is a really random thing for me to comment on but that thing Jordan does where he says “Oh that’s AWESOME, that RULES” when he hears about someone doing some deranged out of left field stuff is so amusing to me for some reason, it consistently gets a grin out of me

Dylan Pascal (aka Dapper Warlock)

I wouldn't say Sebastian was obviously a lobster... lobsters are generally much longer. They've got big ol' tails. Sebastian's just a weird crab that has a whole-ass head sticking out of his shell. That whole thing is one of the worst parts of the live-action Disney remake plague. 2017's Beauty and the Beast is still one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and the way they designed the servants in that is just so baffling to me.

Suedini

Honestly as someone who felt the exact same way as Jarvis did about dating apps but the eventually found a great long term relationship I'm still in on them, my one bit of advice to anyone using them is monitor where your mental health is while using them. This is going to be slightly different for me because it was a lesbian dating app so it's a different market but basically I had one day where I was feeling really good about myself, I reviewed my profile and realised it was awful and I deserved to show myself better. I got specific about interests in the bio, changed up pictures including allowing myself to use a small amount of face tune honestly too make the pictures more (nothing cat fishy just some changes in lighting and clearing up stuff like acne) and immediately I got so many more matches. The bio changed also ment when people came in they would come in with the shared interest. A quote from my favourite TV show was the first thing my current partner messaged me about. That day I was busy and so tried of boring conversations that I nearly didn't message back. But they seemed very enthusiastic so I did and the spark was there instantly. I think there's a tendency to shield your actual personality on there because it feels almost like a job interview. But the reality is you're only going to get that spark with someone who properly shares your interests. Being able to go "hey did you catch the latest episode of x" instead of the monotony of small talk really helped. Especially because if it's actually about something you're both invested in and therefore even if you talk about the same show to 10 people, each person will likely have a different take and emotional reaction to it. Also if you do the quote thing, make sure it's early on in the show. Mine was from the pilot and my partner hadn't got to see further than season one. If I'd gone for something later in the show we might not have had that initial in

Lars Milberger

Nice to have a pod with just the Boyz! I agree with the dating app sentiment, I honestly just gave up on them but it really is hard to just have more people in your life that aren't already your friends that could be a romantic interest. We're all trying our best out here

WunderLuck

i really only like the dog song mainly for the beat, but thats about it. i think that just says about me that i like fast songs

Chelsea Beiler

I just wanted to hop in and say that even if you think no one else cares about the audio, I really appreciate the time and effort you put into making the pod sound so good! I can get really picky with my audio because it's just difficult to listen to things with poor audio, my brain has a hard time processing it. Thanks for the good sounds!

sarahtonin

happy birthdays jarvis and jordan!💐💛

ximena

your impression of yt liberals is on point LMFAOOOO

gabi

I don’t know why “crowd sourced person” made me laugh so fucking hard but it’s the perfect title for Adin Ross

Naomi

As someone who had a very bland dating app experience but ended up finding an amazing man through one, you really just have to keep going. I also had very high standards and never officially dated anyone until I found my current boyfriend on a dating app but if you showcase your personality and don’t go by the script like everyone else eventually you’ll find someone. I know how lonely it can be though it’s a rough time

Aidan Smith

Related to the dating app convo but I really understand the difficulty of organically trying to find new friend groups, I recently moved to a new area that's very much a retirement town but I'm missing having local friends my age and it's difficult to go out and find friends naturally that aren't your coworkers, etc. especially when you're not extroverted or only slightly extroverted

Ryan Molyneux

Soooooo I'm guessing we are soon getting hats ? :D

DurpyTurtle

I've had the same experience on dating apps. It's so hard to connect with someone through messages and like I feel bad for letting things just fizzle out but at the same time I feel no connection to the guys I'm talking to. I just moved to a new area and outside of work friends (people that are old enough to be my parents) I don't really go out a lot. Although I do feel comfort in the fact that other people feel the same way. I thought I was just insane for not continuously dating people I don't feel a connection to.

Reilly Mowatt

I never thought that the thing I would be relating to that these two were talking about would be the number of ear surgeries I had as a kid to reduce the fluid behind my ear drums and the subsequent hearing damage from those surgeries

Bill Wild

I spent 10 mins looking at the cast of Arrested Development before realizing Jordan meant it literally

Noah Gray

I'm a psychology student (about to graduate) and near the end of this episode when yall talk about college feeling like "life with training wheels" it sounds like you're describing the developmental phase of emerging adulthood (which is actually specifically what I study) which usually starts at 18 and lasts until around 25-29 and is characterized by in some ways assuming adult responsibilities (moving away from home and having more freedom in decision making) but in other ways not yet moving on from adolescence (maybe still being on your parents phone plan or insurance or not having a job etc). So it makes sense that you they would struggle with forming connections with individuals still in school. Not to get parasocial, but they seem to have already completed that full transition into adulthood, so even if the person in question is the same age you could be in different developmental phases based on what roles and responsibilities you've taken on by that point in your life.

kalarra

watching this on my second monitor as I work on my 3D modelling assignment for uni lol. i'm almost 30 and only recently went back to studying after dropping out years ago. it's soooo much better and easier than it was when i was 18 just because i'm not a dumbass teenager anymore.

garbobarge

Nooo as a med student who is the same age as Jordan, it felt like a personal attack when you said you couldn’t date someone who is still studying LOL. I kinda feel the opposite, I think at this point in time I couldn’t date someone who wants to be “adult”. I’m still a student so I do feel a little bit younger than people my age who have had careers for years and years while I’ve been at uni for 10+ years. I think my boyfriend wants to settle down eventually but for the time being we’re still living life just like we did in our early to mid 20s.
