Hello all,

Another stream doc today, getting closer to the actual latest batch from my weekly Twitch monstermaking stream.

You'll find the stats and descriptions below, and the GM Binder doc is right here.

And as always, thanks a ton to everyone out there who tunes in to the live streams. I appreciate you.

The monsters:

Rock Troll

Based on the troll race from Terry Pratchett's novel series Discworld, suggested by twitch viewer and discord regular @SherlockHole. I unfortunately haven't read any of Pratchett's novels, so I made this one entirely on second hand info from twitch chat and the discworld wiki, so please forgive any inaccuracies or oversights.

A creature whose intelligence varies with the ambient temperature was an interesting prospect, so when this was suggested, I jumped at the chance.

Ultimately, the temperature-variable intelligence mainly just informs the troll's behavior—specifically whether it attacks on sight or can be reasoned/negotiated with—but the physical aspects remain the same. People in the chat mentioned that a particular troll character in the series wields a repurposed ballista as a ranged weapon which, in discworld's physics, has some pretty crazy properties, vis-a-vis the missile turning into flaming shrapnel at launch.

Hydroid Krasis

This one is based on an, as of yet, upcoming Magic the Gathering card, and was suggested by redditor /u/ShawshankHarper who tagged me in this reddit thread.

This one is interesting. It's a hydra... growing out of a floating jellyfish body... that's used for reconnaissance and surveillance. Yeah.

So I started with the Multiple/Reactive Heads traits and attacks from the hydra, but attached it to a creature with a slow fly (hover) speed, and a sizable melee reach.

After that, the Spell Intuition trait just kinda came together once I had the idea; only a couple of the finer details were left to be tinkered with after the meat of the trait was there.

Chisel Tooth

The final monster from this stream is based on some incredible art by artstation artist nclong, and was suggested by good ol' @whistlehunter.

I was originally going to go elemental with this one, but chat convinced me that a flesh-and-blood titan creature would be cooler. Going with that, I used the Tarrasque's ability scores for comparison, trying to stay at least an arm's reach away from the CR 30 legend.

Once the obvious titan creature traits and gargantuan monster melee attacks were on there, I had kind of decided on this being more of a guardian creature for the wildernesses of the world. Expanding on that idea, chat suggested some monster summoning, and the Animate Boulders and Animate Trees abilities from the galeb duhr and the treant, respectively, seemed like they perfectly fit the bill.

Done and done. Only one stream behind at this point, and I'm looking forward to being all caught up for once. And once more, thanks so much for continuing to watch the live streams!

Au revoir and cheers!
