I subbed exactly for this type of content. I watched through the Insanity of The 3D Man and the Technets. The US Trucker made an unintended asshole of the protags and gave a surprisingly emotional take on the villain. That made me wanna see more and just how insane Marvel is. I kinda hate that even I went WTF he's the Aunt May is Peter's mom guy! Thank you for your service and take my money! 👍🏿

I was a comic-buying, Smallville-watching teen when this was released, and I saw that it was somehow connected to the relaunch of one of my favorite books at the time, PAD’s Captain Marvel. So I picked up issue 1, only to throw it away immediately after reading it. A small part of me has always been curious what the hell happened in the following issues, so truly, thank you for suffering so that I could find out. And… sorry, I think?

`the jokes in this comic really have that vibe of when a guy makes a joke he thinks he is intelligent on a group setting. then insists on pausing your otherwise unrelated normal conversation to painstakingly explain why he was very funny.

Late to the party here, but as for why 'actor' Ted Turner would be included... Ted Turner may indeed have had like.. 6 acting credits, one as himself, one as a thinly veiled self-insert voice in Captain Planet (as Fred Lerner). He was by way better know as a media mogul. He created TNT (Turner Network Television) and TBS (Turner Broadcasting System), Cartoon Network, CNN, Captain Planet, etc. etc. At this time TBS had already merged with Time-Warner, which had then been more recently acquired by AOL and thus, until 2003, Turner was the Vice Chairman of AOL Time-Warner making his inclusion as one of those 'AOL folks' a very natural inclusion.

Also super late to the party and catching up on all the Patreon exclusives, and I came to the comments to see how many people had pointed this out. Surprised it hadn't been mentioned until 6+ months after release. Every time Sir Superhero refers to Ted Turner as an actor it makes my brain itch. I'm an elder millennial, so I lived through the time of AOL Time Warner and it really can't be understated how *everywhere* they were. It was like modern day Disney or... well, Warner Bros. There's a huge crossover between comics and other geek hobbies and the pro wrestling world, so to any fellow wrestling nerds who happen to come across this and are still angry about AOLTW basically killing WCW, I see you, and don't forget to take your ibuprofen.

...I'd say this is a 'the boys' situation where the creator clearly just hates the genre they're writing in, but like, this is beyond that. I know it objectively isn't, but to me the biggest mystery is the use of Ted Turner and Jane Fonda. I know why the deeply bad attempts at jokes happened. I know why self obsessed men think they can write philosophy without having ever studied philosophy. I can guess why the comic included a pitch document as an issue. I cannot begin to even theorise why Turner and Fonda are here. It's the far future. How have they survived this long without aging. They've outlived their own grandchildren. What are we doing here?!

So I just found out about this exclusive video, after having watched Linkara's series of videos on Marville for years now. Has anyone pointed out in the comments that Ted Turner was more than just an actor? He was a prolific businessman and philanthropist who founded CNN, as well as TBS, Turner Classic Movies, and Cartoon Network!
