MY SHOW IS ON!!! 🍿🍿🍿🥤🥤

Joey Rollins

Yesss was super excited for this to come out

Tossup

Holy shit I asked for this in a community post months ago, my favorite hero since I was like 8

Orion Krieg

You should know that the thumbnail made me laugh before I even read the caption. Love it

ThiefofRPG

Not the next Power Ranger topic I was expecting ngl

3 Cat Day

I swear it's like you pull your video ideas directly from the brain of childhood me. Another banger!

TRGabrielGF

Hey, that's cheating, you're just combining your two main channel topics into one video! JK, this is incredibly interesting. Great job!

Tsa

Marvel... Power Rangers... oh yeah. it's all coming together.

3 Cat Day

Evilhawk. What a name.

Tsa

for the trivia game, im guessing Lighthawk, just for funsies.

Ridiculous Ties

All I'm hearing is that this guy would make for one of the coolest Marvel Rivals characters

Sir_Superhero

When they want another flying/walking mode switch character like Angela he has to be the guy. Similar gimmick in the duelist role.

The Menagerie

Darkhawk is a character I fell in love with, but I want you to imagine that Infinity Countdown is your first experience with it. I then had to try and go back and figure out what the hell was happening by reading the older comics. Then he turns up in GotG, my favorite team. AND ALL THAT NONSENSE HAPPENS

Aiden Snyder

I’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO LEARN ABOUT THIS GUY THANK YOU

Rolly

Regarding the origin retcon, I don't get why they couldn't just say the scientists found some deactivated robots and claim they made them so they weren't murdered.

3 Cat Day

Remember when what was under the mask was supposedly so horrific?

Sam Lewis

I don't think this'll happen but I'm gonna put down my prediction now: I think it'd be cool if it turned out that Darkhawk was the sixth ranger to a whole team and just didn't know it, so at some point he just meet 5 others and gets very confused.

Matthew Drew

If a fan of darkhawk also check out merry marvelite!

Sam Lewis

My money is that Sir Superhero is a liar and he absolutely is just named Dark Darkhawk

Sam Lewis

Well I mean almost, and then they got retconned

PinDaGreat

This video made me realize that you haven't made a single DC related video. I'm guessing you specialize in Marvel because the hyperfixation is stronger in their specific sphere, which makes your job easier to stay motivated with. There's also the fact that Marvel's never done a crisis or Flashpoint style reboot for the mainline continuity, which informs your approach to your content. For every weird obscure DC character, there's the question of what exactly the reboots did to them, while with Marvel, a characters entire publication history can be considered with little exceptions, and the exceptions are fun. I think a video about a DC property from you would be fun, but your content is enjoyable no matter the subject matter to me. The way you cover stuff is what I'm here for

Sam Lewis

Anyway here's what I'd do if I was in charge of a Darkhawk comic: Chris is a deeply traumatized and mentally ill man, and has been since he was a child. I would do some more retcons (because why not) and say that his new origin is as follows: Chris witnessed his father, who he looked up to and was his greatest inspiration, being payed off and then knocked out (killed? I'm not clear on that). Cue shout, run, and he discovers a weird crystal thing. He feels it, very subtle, calling out to him, and he's compelled to pick it up. It turns out to be... not a teleport beacon, but a psychic linking device. In his confusion, he connects with an android and switches places with it, fending off the criminals and accidentally killing one in the process. This deeply traumatizes him and that trauma, combined with the psychic scrambling of the amulet, causes his mind to fracture. At first it's subtle, he gets more used to violence and has no problem killing his enemies, but eventually it escalates. One day, the psychic energies he's emitting every time he switches places with the Darkhawk android attract the attention of a spaceship, which contains several similar androids. These androids were once members of a Shi'ar black-ops group, but a group of scientists came together and managed to disable the parts of them that are sentient, keeping them in stasis as potentially useful weapons in future. Sensing the same psychic energy that this dangerous group uses, the AI of the ship which used to be one of the scientists follows it near to Earth. He hijacks the psychic signal, causing the outgoing body to become trapped in a stasis pod on the ship instead of going to the tree. However, the scientist sees that the captured android has also had its sentience disabled, and so decides to allow the child controlling it to continue using it, while still hijacking the outgoing teleportation to keep him safe from other members of the black ops group, The Fraternity of Raptors. Unfortunately, Chris' fractured mental state created a second consciousness, partially derived from the violence within the android and partially from Chris' own subconscious desire to have a nemesis to fight. This consciousness called itself Evilhawk. It came with its own backstory, which the AI decided to play along with in order to not hurt Chris by making him realize he was causing all that destruction. Yada yada, Evilhawk stuff happens, the ship is destroyed and stops hijacking the signal so now Chris goes back to the tree whenever he switches with the robot, unknown to him. Evilhawk's consciousness sticks around, but is dormant in Chris' mind. Chris eventually fully psychicly merges with the Darkhawk robot, but because of his mental issues, he can't sustain the merge and it falls apart. Then, the Raptors get involved and send Talon. Talon tries to reawaken the consciousness within Chris' android, but is unsuccessful. However, instead, the same consciousness that was once Evilhawk takes over the suit, since Chris is still psychicly linked to it and that's what he expects to happen. This consciousness starts calling itself Razor, now separate from Chris and within the robor. Yada yada, the Razor stuff happens. Chris defeats it and merges with the crystal. However, it turns out the amulet was only ever necessary to link the minds once. Normally it would be needed constantly, but because Chris' mental state was irregular and his android didn't have his own sentience, Chris and the android fully merged and were always fully merged, even without the crystal, and Chris just didn't know it. This means that the crystal merging with his body is essentially just a physical representation of how he thinks of the connection. The reason he constantly keeps fusing and defusing with it is because his mental state constantly fluctuates between seeing it as part of himself and as a different entity. And its both, since Razor is still around in Chris' subconscious and is a merging of Chris and the original personality of the suit. Eventually his added trauma during Avengers Arena makes him fully disconnect from the persona of Darkhawk and the heroic elements it entails. These elements and the subconscious entity of Razor move into the android, making it an independent hero, and Chris becomes unable to interface with it. He can try, but subconsciously Razor and him both know that they don't truly want that reconnection, and so Razor doesn't respond. Eventually they reconnect again because, fundamentally, they know they're incomplete without each other. As for the actual focus of what the plot would be aside from the retcons, it would be Chris and Connor teaming up as co-Darkhawks. Essentially the focus would be on the similarities and differences between Chris' mental issues and Connor's physical issues and how they're effected by the Darkhawk androids. Also I'd bring back the androids from the ship as side characters because like. Come on, how could I not. The villain would be Evilhawk, the negative aspects of Chris' personality, possessing the ship androids. Chris would have to come to terms with the fact that Evilhawk is a part of him and that he is Evilhawk, Chris, and Razor all in one, and that he doesn't get to pick and choose. He's all of them, even when he's not in the android. He'd end by fully passing on the mantle to Connor and founding a support group for kids with mental health issues, potentially even using the now purified ship androids as vehicles for psychic aid for the kids.

Alijah Wakefield

Single greatest video ever, darkhawk, deaths head and sleepwalker

Feng Shway

I’m not convinced this wasn’t completely uninspired by tokusatsu. It kind of reminds me of space sheriff gavan with ultraman

Domicci

my money is on light hawk

Sir_Superhero

I think you're the first one to get it. A genuine Marvel No-Prize to you.

Sir_Superhero

THIS IS A BUFFER COMMENT I'M GONNA PIN SO THAT PEOPLE DON'T GET THE MID-VIDEO TRIVIA SPOILED

Sir_Superhero

I'm replying to my own comment to boost it further, that should work :P

Colton Renaud

It's funny because similar to what you said it was the literal first thing I came up with

Domicci

amazing video but sadly i lost a bet with a friend his favorite character is dark hawk mines ghost and you did a dark hawk video first.

OrderlySummit

Seeing Kyle Higgins' name as the writer for Last Flight and then the Connor series had me pointing at the screen lmao, I would *love* to see what the rest of the team behind Immortal Legend Batman (Mat Groom, Erica D'Urso and Dan Mora) or the other creatives from the Massive-Verse would do with Darkhawk. The modular aspect lends some really interesting ideas, quick-switching between loadouts immediately coming to mind.

gwennie

The midpoint between Iron Man and Power Rangers is Ultraman. This guy is ABSOLUTELY inspired by Ultraman, at least a little bit.

Diego Montana

Disappointed and relieved the name wasn’t Darkerhawk

FaceMan

Man, I hope the next Darkhawk book/appearance does a Ewing-esque retcon that explains and gives weight to all the retcons because that would be fun.

Loupy

Darkhawk has a secret power based on the TSA about retcons and such... It's taking the whole "super hero goes back to the statu quo" to the ultimate there

Cosmo

Maybe they try to invert it and call him like Lighthawk? Sunhawk? Burnhawk?

Aidan

Sir Superhero, you keep giving me wonderful esoteric knowledge to share with the comic book club I run at my college I’m excited to share this with them and see what you do next!

Saturn

sorry if this isn’t the place to ask this but did you delete your TikTok??

Colton Renaud

that would of actually been amazing

Vinny

OMG DARKHAWK VIDEO YAY

SmallFry

Love that a marvel power system or lore is created depending if the elders of the universe is involved in it or not

Orion Krieg

Guessing the guys name is Death-hawk. That was the first name that came to mind when you mentioned he had a villain codename

Orion Krieg

I wish I hadn't been wrong. Geez that's such a bad name

Spencer

Darkhawk is both a Ranger reference and in the case of modern versions of the character with the whole Raptor thing, they also HEAVILY speak to the game Warframe.

Spencer

I can agree! It’s also super similar to how Warframe runs with its lore too!

The Wizard Sea

Every single time I see this video (I've watched it twice) I think it's about Nighthawk, the Squadron Supreme character and get really confused.
