I’ve personally never been a fan of the whole infinity circuit thing. I get that it adds a layer of complexity how to wield the stones but to me it was more needless and dumb than complimentary and cool. A better way to add complexity to the stones would just to put more effort into how characters wield them.

But make them distinct laws. We don't need the law of conservation of energy, but I'd be happy if you explained why it doesn't apply. That's the only time magic can be science.

I still love the Thanos quest / Infinity Gauntlet arc in the comics. It’s fun to glaze a villain every now and then, it wasn’t a run of the mill arc. If you’re gonna have a villain go against literally all of creation, you gotta give a good reason as to *why*. The films managed to do this even more impressively, and I’m excited to see what they do with Doom next.

The Life Stone theory makes a lot of sense, but purely down to personal preference I love when stuff is mismatched in groups (part of why the Circuit is so fun to me). The beeeeeg rock Power Stone, the Time Stone vanishing (and just appearing when the Illuminati had gathered the other 5), that's right in the realm of slightly off-kilter that I absolutely adore.

Okay, my theories as to what the Maestro's Infinity Stones do: -Genesis Stone: Power of creation. Marvel Wiki says it can be used to create energy blasts, but I imagine that much raw life energy can be expressed a lot of ways. Imagine creating an army of golems, whether mechanical or biological, precision-tailored to fight a specific enemy. -Evolution Stone: Upgrades, people, upgrades. Heck, Upgrade from Ben 10 could be a good model for this, or the Ultimatrix. Instantly turning a weapon into a superweapon, or forcing thousands of years of evolution on a living being to strengthen it. -War Stone: Creates war, and augments one's mastery of it -- driving people into conflict with each other and allowing you to emerge the victor. Think a cross between the Mind Stone, the Power Stone, and Survivor from Stone Ocean. You could even draw parallels to the Maestro himself, with the War Stone allowing its wielder to essentially BECOME the Maestro, become the strongest who survives. -Nightmare Stone: Manipulating nightmares -- giving them, or bringing them to life. I imagine this wouldn't be just Scarecrow-style illusions either -- if someone's afraid that their friends secretly hate them, the Nightmare Stone could make it so they actually do, though I also imagine that, like the Reality Stone, any alterations made by this would be temporary. -Chaos Stone: Chaos magic stuff, whether subtle (like nudging fate so that calamity dogs a foe's heels) or blatant (like localized reality warps that fold logic and physics like paper hats). -Death Stone: Pretty much just the canon one. Mastery of death -- bringing it, undoing it, staving it off, etc.

Okay one last comment, having now finished the video: Having heard your crackpot theory. The Blood Stone, previously called the Blood Gem, has been shown to be able to turn zombies into living people before, and symbology wise, blood and life are very intertwined. Now, if that is actually used, I'll probably go sit in a corner and reevaluate existence, but since we're doing theories that may or may not mean nothing, just feel like it's important to note that there already is an incredibly powerful stone tied to themes of life.

This is the first I'm hearing about the Ultraverse. I knew more about DC's company acquisitions like Charlston and Wildstorm but I never new that Marvel bought out a company and it's superheroes. Has any of their characters been folded into Marvel 616 or have they all been permanently stuck in the 90s?

It's...an odd situation. Marvel still owns them, but won't use for at least for a while. The official word from the company, as dumb as it sounds, is "there's a reason" that they wont, but we don't know what that reason is and Marvel has been VERY careful to never say. Probably some legal or rights hangups, or possibly just pettiness.

Okay so I just rewatched this, excellent video as always. I might've joined in the conspiracy theory board thing though. I was thinking about the life stone idea, and how as far as we know it doesn't exist yet, but Thanos did create the death stone, obviously partially as a result of understanding the stones. So I thought about who else understands the stones, and also who else maybe has a really close connection to The Living Tribunal... and like... Adam Warlock's gotta make the life stone right? Maybe the stone is going to have already have existed, and just hadn't been found yet, or something, but if it does need to be created, I'm going to bet on the guy (a variant of him anyway) who became the Living Tribunal and knows the stones like no other with the exception of Thanos!

i mean to be fair, time stone is kind of time travel which is impossible (well, backwards time travel) with our current understanding of physics. you couldn't use the space stone to alter time in that way. and also, time stone is just altering time without altering space. it's playing specifically with the time dimensions whereas space is playing specifically with the space dimensions

so even if you want to be science-y and pedantic about it, time is still different enough from space to deserve its own stone. it's not 4 space dimensions, it's 3 space dimensions and 1 time dimension. that's a different type of dimension. get a stone.

I think it would be awesome for the Phoenix Force to be tied to the life stone the same way Mistress Death was to the Death stone. The White Hot Room could even be the world within the stone. Dunno, just an idea.
