It's my understanding that Angelic Weapons destroy souls, which is how the exterminations worked in the first place, not sure if this is correct, but if it is, it's unlikely that Adam will ever come back.

Remember when they were in the court room, after Charlie left Sarah mentioned “If you start to question, you could end up like Lucifer.. Fallen.” Meaning that if she tries to change things (just like Lucifer did way back then and how Charlie is now.) she will be cast out too.

My theory is just like Sir Pentious, he arrived in the opposite place. I bet a big reveal in season 2 will be Adam will have woken up in Hell. I think if youre a soul whose still damned and get killed in hell you reincarnate on Earth. And same with Angels who are virtuous, but if you are angelic and damned or demonic and virtuous you automatically go to the other place just like if you died on Earth.
