Thing is with these episodes: Back in the day, it was uncertain if and when dragonball will continue. The last few episodes where just made to give us an ending, where as the manga just continued into the story of Z. OG dragonball actually had good success in japan but unlike z, it only had decent success abroad, so i think it was a reasonable decision, and i can enjoy this ending for what it is.

Keep in mind Toriyama didn’t write the filler episodes. I don’t really enjoy the content of these episodes either but in the manga it goes STRAIGHT from the Piccolo tournament into DBZ, so it’s pretty sudden. There needed to be something to end the show on.

I def understand the frustration, but watching this back it’s actually nice to see Goku and Chi Chi doing things together, especially starting out as a couple and seeing Grandpa Gohan.
