Venetim is interesting. I keep going back to the scene where he was sentenced. So he was charged with sedition or whatever for accidentally writing the truth in a tabloid, and had unnatural powers of persuasion so people believe what he says. The priest dude who was grilling him mentioned at the very end that they’d put something special in his contract regarding his rhetoric, and my immediate thought was that his contract included never being able to tell the truth, which I thought could explain why he always has to be so subversive and sus, because he has to get people to do the right thing, without being able to say the true reason. I think the reason he is absent a lot, and why he’s always stealing documents and books is that he is trying to prove what he knows without being able to talk about it, so he has to gather the hard evidence he needs that will state his case for him. Just my theory.

That's a solid theory. I overall think they're good but definitely have some sus qualities, but it's for the plot haha.

Just finished. The name the uncle gave deference to at the end was the name that the Guild leader they captured had given them as the name of the person on the demon’s side that he made a contract with. So for uncle to say “in saint maizelle’s (sp?) name” is a huge flag that the highest priests are in league with the demons. Also, I think Rino is gonna be a horrible person. Teorita doesn’t even want his praise, it’s been mentioned that he indiscriminately kills civilians. He’s the only person who has ever volunteered to be a hero. I think he’s a terrorist or a psychopath, or both
