Can’t speak much on the movies haven’t watched them, but from what I heard the only one that is a must watch is one piece:gold/ also bc it has been a while I just wanted to say you did see Rebecca’s mom die, not spoiling but you have seen it

Movies are great! but make sure they don’t contain spoilers.

I'm not sure if this is the first time they showed a dead kid in the anime, but in the manga they showed Kuina dead. They didn't put it in the anime because of censorship. The reason is that OP used to air at a more child-friendly time. Now it has less censorship, but they still censor it somewhat. People in flashbacks aren't safe, they do die in them. In the present day only Ace is confirmed dead I think. But there will be more actual deaths in the show so not everything will be a fakeout... Just saying. And the pacing gets bad after shit hits the fan. Pacing improves a little bit but by Egghead it's no longer a problem, aside from a couple of isolated episodes.

Me watching you think it was Big Strat when it was just about money 😬

This is a little late but I had to binge watch to get to these episodes and this has to deal with the art design of Rebecca. As someone who has watched anime since the late 90s, I also wondered why this trend started happening because it didn't back in the day. So I asked when I took my trip to Japan back in 2017, and the reason for it is to poke fun at Americans. Because back when anime started to become popular in America, people really questioned and disliked characters that looked like children yet were thousands of years old. The manga writers found it funny that we would take things so seriously, and so they started making characters that looked like adults and then made them underage and to make it more funny for them they would make them like Rebecca where they are literally very close to 18. So that is the reason for characters having adult bodies but being just under our legal adult age it's to poke fun at us, other than that I'm stoked to be caught up and can't wait for the next batch of reactions for One Piece.
