James Yancy

Sylvester's mother was very cruel to Ferdinand, even repeatedly attempting to murder him by poisoning. It's why Ferdinand is very particular about what he eats. Sylvester's mother also did indeed spoil Wilfred which is why he holds her in such high regard and shares her negative views on Ferdinand. Wilfred isn't actually a bad kid, but he is a product of his environment. When he isn't being badly influenced he's actually a pretty good person, unfortunately he's too often highly susceptible to being influenced by the wrong people. That said, once he sees the error of his ways he's quick to correct his behavior.
