They did a great job portraying the ugliness and delusion of stalkers in this episode. He genuinely believed Sakura felt the same way about him and once she rejected him in front of others he turned on her so fast. The fantasy was broken and he started verbal abuse. It is a very scary thing some people have to deal with.
