The Third Eye itself isn't powerful. It's just a way to give Tatsuya a visual link via satellite to targets that are too far away to be seen. The true power is his Material Burst spell. It's the highest form of his decomposition magic. It basically takes the thing he targets, and decomposes it directly to energy, similar to an atom bomb or nuclear warhead.

There are a lot of references to Hindu beliefs and gods in this anime. Yes, Mahesvara is a god in the Hindu religion who is considered the god of the universe and is closely associated with death and destruction. A pretty fitting nickname for Tatsuya's enemies to know him as!

Considering the actual function of the 'Third Eye,' it has always confused me as to why it needs to be shaped like a huge rifle. I mean, in reality, it is pretty much just a scope that is linked to a satellite. Yet the thing has a long barrel, a magazine, and a shoulder stock. None of the firepower actually comes from the weapon so why is it shaped like it is? Seems like it is just a visual choice to make it look badass lol

"The Third Eye" is a Cast Asist Device" (CAD) for Tatsuya's material burst.

Japan is a small country that has been able to remain independent only because of their high magic combat ability. So if there is an invasion from the New Soviet Union (Russia) or GAA (China) a magic civilian army is normal. If not for Japan's high magic ability, they'd likely be taken over by GAA (China).

Lu Ghonghu is considered one of the top ten close combat specialists in the world. He is credited with the highest number of kills in melee combat and is an S-ranked individual from the Great Asian Union Special Ops.

Mayumi used her Paralyze Dry magic against Lu Gonghu, a technique that interferes with the opponent’s respiratory system by dehydrating the lungs and restricting airflow
