Sup y'all. Today we're going over 6 methods of sidechaining (specifically bass + kick or snare). By all means, I'm not a sidechain expert! These are just the methods I know and use, so hopefully you'll find it helpful! I also forgot to mention, actually you can zoom in the oscilloscope in Shaperbox. Check the link here with additional sidechain information https://youtube.com/shorts/tAgRnoRZh-A?si=2pj5brFbqpCfI_jLQ: do you sidechain percussion, rides, hi-hats, etc. in the drum kit to the kick and snare? How do you decide which components are sidechained to other components?A: I sidechain pretty much every element through the kick and snare (especially in the drop where the most layers and sounds are present). Sometimes I can use a slightly different sidechain shape though (for example, the bass can have a deeper sidechain curve than the synths).

Great tutorial! You always wondered how you did them in Ableton <3

This was a technical BANGER! Have you experimented with sidechain on send/bus channels for effects like reverb/delay/echo? I know a few people do for control but wanted to hear your opinion. Thanks as Always!

ah yes, that can work too! That's a really personal preference tbh. I don't really do that, because I'd like the full signal to get sidechained in it's entirety, but I understand that putting the sidechain on a send/bus gives more control.
