Necroix's Journal #3 - Small Update (Patreon)

Heyo!

As usual, sorry for horrendous grammar you're about to read.

We are so close to 0.1.5! We are pushing ahead and doing our best. And let me tell you, it's a big one. Many big changes for QoL. You're in for a ride.

First of all, I'm proud of the size of the project. It was almost 1.5GB before and now, just 300MB. Of course as we add more content it will increase in size but hey, from 1.5GB to 300MB I'm all for it.

This is primarily due to the format and compression of the images. Pretty much we transitioned from png to lossless webp decresing to around 1/3 of size. This is amazing.

I initially thought converting everything to webp was going to be a drag and taking up so many hours but it ended being way simpler than I thought. Used a library that does the conversion and did a small bash script to just go through all the folders while removing the original png. And presto, done in a couple of minutes.

I am extremely excited for this update and there are other changes that I can't talk about right now without spoiling everything but just you wait! We are so close!
