Yo! So many of you have been interested in the one on ones and i can't wait to start with you all. I am currently out of the country with family for a week. So if you are inquiring about lessons or dming me, i may be slower at responding than usual. So i apologise ahead of time for that!

I will be setting up a scheduling system for the lessons as well! So, we don't have to do so much back and forth in the DMs (:

If you have read this far, comment below and tell me how you got into electronic music / music production. I want to hear your guys stories!

Personally i started off going to raves with my friends. My first show was excision, destroid, and flux pavillion (back when excision would OPEN for flux) that led to Djing at our house parties. Which eventually led to production (:

I feel so old! One of the first memories i have was me and my brother had this Bad boy bill mix Hard house cd when i was 7 years old in the late 90s. Also around that time my uncle got a subwoofer in his car and i would beg him to play brass monkey. i became obsessed with bass, amp subwoofers i wanted to know why and how everything worked and ever since then always knew i loved music! around 14 i got into slipknot & also was really intrigued by DJ Starscream which got me into drum & Bass. @16 bought a squarepusher cd at best buy. High school did drumline & also played drums in a band. Started collecting vinyl. Classmate found out and gave me some turntables for free. @19 bought a bunch of house records and taught myself to beat match. got really into fidget house acid house because of the bass noises. also started making my own clothing. My homies took me to my first Rave & a few years later to burning man. Had the craziest dj sets of my life out there! 2009 fabric Live 37 came out & changed the game! Got into DJing around the club scene in reno nv from 2010-2015. Started going to festivals like stildream and emissions in nor cal. Some of my homies i knew from reno have really inspired me to get into production. Hullabaloo, Subdocta. Charles the first RIP gave me one of his first ep cds after of my sets, I'll never forget that memory he wasn't even old enough to be in the club! Always had ableton on my computer, but could never finish tracks. Working a corporate job for 10 years which moved me out of reno into Socal. even after all these years, Im 34 years old and i will always love dubstep, west coast bass music and listening and playing on massive sound systems! I don't even care about playing out anymore. I just want to make tracks that sound really good and really loud on really big speakers and watch everyone go crazy to them like i do! I think it all goes back to the love for speakers & bass and for the frequencies that bring us here together. Anyways, my name is Gilato. My mix downs fuckin suck ass but I'm glad i found you on youtube & stoked to find your patreon!!!Love your music dude & people like you inspire me to not give up on mine! Thank for reading!

This is obviously a long one, but it's a long story hahaha. I've been playing guitar most of my life, and I've always wanted to make a living off of music. I had a pretty rough childhood, and music was always an escape for me. I wasn't actually allowed to have any instruments because they were "noise pollution", but my babysitters son played guitar and taught me the basics when I was about 3 or 4, and I took percussion in middle school. When I was about 12-13, my cousin showed me the song Sierra Leone by mount Eden, and I just remembered thinking, "this is incredible, what is this, how is this made, where are these sounds coming from?" Then I discovered Skrillex, and I was all in, I remember watching the music video for rock and roll (will take you to the mountain top) think, "holy shit this looks like the coolest life ever." When I was 12 or 13 my dad died, I guilt tripped my parents into letting me have his guitar, and immediately started playing for hours every day after school, and I would literally spend all my time thinking about it, I was a big metalhead, I always liked really fast technical guitar and I figured out how to noodle around pretty fast, unfortunately I never learned chord structure, or even the basic chords, because all I cared about was how fast I could play single notes. I never focused on learning how to make music, for some reason I thought that was something people were just born with, so when I was about 17 or 18 after I got kicked out of my parents' house, I kind of gave up on myself and music, and I believed because I couldn't figure out how to write something with no knowledge or understanding of the creative process, or even the fact that it existed, I was incapable of making anything. Fast forward to me living in a place I dreamed of as a kid in Colorado, I'd been a ski bum for about 4 years, I was finally happy, and I had started learning basic music theory and relearning all the basics of guitar that I figured out on my own and learned the proper techniques thanks to YouTube. We had an open mic night in town that id hangout at every week and I mentioned to someone that I've played guitar for like 14 years and they told me to try it, I said I wasn't ready, they told me I may never feel like I'm ready, but I should just try it anyway, so I went up next week with my guitar and multi-effects pedal with a looper in it and looped some chord progression id been playing with, added some layers and played a solo on it, there was about 40-50 people in the bar, and the whole room went silent, and everyone was watching me play, and when I finished the whole bar was cheering so loud, it was the most unbelievable feeling I had ever felt in my life, people were literally chanting my name, it was insane. Maybe 6 months later, I had become far more invested in music again, and I was practicing every day, I went home to Florida to visit my friends for a couple weeks and ended up staying for 2 months, and in the last 2 weeks there, my friends convinced me to go to Forbidden kingdom with them, this started my love for festivals and reignited my love for edm as a whole. Fast forward again, and I go to Okeechobee 2022 as my first camping festival, and while on 10 tabs, with my friends who are basically my family, I see Griz live for the first time. I was so blown away by how happy everyone was just to be there, before the music even started, and seeing everyone gathered together, so excited to see what Griz had put together for them. It made me think about sitting on the school bus trying to figure out how the hell Skrillex made slats slats slats, his set was unbeliveable, and I remember thinking, this is what I want to do, and I guess that was the moment I decided I wanted to figure out how to produce. Admittedly, I thought because I could play guitar pretty well that i was just going to pick up a computer and make bangers, which could not be FARTHER from the truth hahahahaha, I was humbled really quick, as we all know it is far from easy or simple, its unbelievably complex, and I completely fell in love with every aspect of production. I didn't actually start producing until September 2022, I couldn't afford a computer and I kept making excuses, convincing myself Id need all this hardware and shit that's completely unnecessary, I had a conversation with a friend and he asked why I havent started making music yet, I told him I didnt have a computer, so he gave me an old laptop he had laying around that was prehistoric, but still got the job done hahaha. I've been obsessed with Ableton, and I love people like you, and virtual riot, and mr bill, and underbelly, and all the other creators out there who are willing to share their knowledge to help people like me understand how to express ourselves using a computer. I made my first banger from watching your masterclass series you put on here, and I hope one day I can be one of the guys helping other people learn how to express themselves with music. I haven't posted any of my songs anywhere, but man is it cool to see your friends get excited when you show them a new song, it's the best feeling in the world! I still have no idea what Im gonna call myself lol, Ive been thinking about Noise Pollution, but I think I need to take the "You may never feel ready" advice and start sharing music sooner than later. Thanks for the help man, you're a real one, I'll be at Cyclopse Cove, I hope they put together another producer's corner there, the last one was awesome, can't wait to see you perform!

Sooo growing up I always attempted to learn music, but never got to fully get into it because of sports and my family. I got put into a music tech program my 2nd semester in college back in 2017, at the time being I just wanted to learn how to make trap beats but after the semester I left the school and didn’t pick up music again until after I went to EDCO for the first time in 2022. The first show I saw was Svdden Death b2b NGHTMRE and immediately fell in love with the sound, crowd, and everything around me. After that I started going to a lot of festivals and dove into EDM, seeing acts like Griz at okee, excision at lost lands, pretty lights at hula, along with numerous Svdden death sets and other acts that all got me to become addicted to the music and scene. I started learning production again and just taught myself by watching YouTube tutorial videos and Instagram videos (watched a lot of your videos) over the last 2 years on how to do it, and the more I learned the more fun it was. This became something that was much more than a hobby, learning production and being able to apply it was extremely gratifying and I finally started to feel like I found my thing after feeling lost in life for a while. For a while I didn’t plan on really putting out a project or anything, I just wanted to learn production for myself because I loved the process of it. All the different sound design was super interesting and making weird noises was a lot of fun, but doing it more and more made me rethink what I really wanted to do with music. Fast forward to a few months ago, I did decide I wanted to start a project which was really nerve racking. Just two weeks ago I finally launched my project and it felt great to do that, but I want to keep learning so I can improve. Really happy to have joined your patreon, and looking forward to learning from you!!

2010 or 11. I was 26 then and living the parents just back for. The Marines. Back when Excision, downlink Datsik all lived together. I miss those times. I still listen to Downlinks emergency and ignition ep.Started listening to it then. Sort of made it back then. I was never sober long enough to make much progress, there also was only a handful of tutorial on yourtube. I had so many pirated plug ins ahaha. Logic, ableton, massive reason and so forth. Got rid of all that stuff and got an older, built up iMac that run 10.15 but has quad I7 and 32gb ran. It does fine for where I’m at as long as I save and flatten. Never had time to learn to produce when I was married but I got divorced a couple years ago and have been taking it more seriously, most recently I got Ableton 11 in April and I spend every moment I can try to progress. It’s funny there used to be not enough info available ash now there’s to much and all over the place. Your videos are dope though dude and I’m super glad I found your patreon. You’re the first active YouTube produced I have found that I like so hopefully we can link up for some lessons dude! Peace
