Let's take a look at a fascinating work of worldbuilding. Arcology: The City in the Image of Man is a work from 1969 which tells a fascinating story about humanity, technology, and all through the lens of the shape our cities take: megastructures. I really loved pulling this together, and I am excited to share it with you.

The idea of using vertical density to reduce sprawl is very interesting, and I think its not just a futuristic concept, it is being researched even today - both for environmental conservation as well as places with geographic limitations. I was also thinking of bridges / skywalks between vertical buildings as well as vertical elevators being public so a whole city gets a 3rd dimension in transportation, as well as vertical farming to reduce farming land sprawl.
