This post shares a few simple tips and specific settings to help boost FPS in ETS2 & ATS and improve overall performance.

Change these Graphics Settings:- Grass Density- Shadow Quality- Mirror Distance

I personally have a RTX 5080 + Ryzen 9 9950x3d and still I don't have my settings maxed out. I use the preset  "Medium" for mirror distance. You won't notice a really big difference in terms of quality, but you should get a big increase in performance. (fps).I would recommend setting the mirror distance to medium either way. For the Shadow Quality try using "High", or maybe even "Medium". If you still want more fps try setting the grass density to "Low". I personally experienced an increase from like 50-55fps to 75-80fps in total after changing all of these settings in the past.

Bonus Tips (general list):

Avoid Traffic Mods: It's fine to use a traffic jam mod, but in my experience, using AI traffic mods that replace all AI models sometimes can cause stutters and performance issues. If you're looking for smooth gameplay, I'd recommend avoiding these kinds of mods.

Optimize Graphics Settings to Your PC Specs: Make sure you adjust your graphics settings based on your PC’s performance capabilities. If you don’t have a mid to high-tier PC, it’s not a good idea to max out all settings in-game. Instead, find a balance that works well for your system.

Limit the Number of Mods You Use: It’s generally not recommended to run multiple hundreds of mods. You can try it if you have a high-end PC, but from personal experience, I stick to around 30-50 mods. This gives me a realistic experience while ensuring stable gameplay with all the essential mods I need.

Bonus Tip #2 (not a free one):

I recently upgraded the SSD in my PC setup, switching from a regular SATA SSD to an NVMe SSD. Since then, my game has been running much smoother.

I understand that upgrading your PC can be expensive depending on your situation. Also for me, as a content creator, it was an investment and not just something I did for fun.
