This post is the central setup guide for Passenger Routes for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and CargoLite – Cars & Vans. I’ll keep it updated and expand the FAQ as new questions come in.

📋 Requirements

• ETS2 1.61• CargoLite – Cars & Vans• A compatible car or van mod• Original SCS map or ProMods, with the matching Passenger Routes edition

For the ProMods edition, also follow the game-version and map-DLC requirements of your installed ProMods version.

📋 Recommended Load Order

Arrange these mods with highest priority at the top, as shown in the attached image:

No DeadEnds! — ETS2 version — Optional, but highly recommended.

Ownable Trailer Stutter Fix — Optional; recommended if you experience stuttering with owned trailers.

Passenger Routes — Enable one edition only.

CargoLite – Cars & Vans — Enable one version only.

Your compatible car and van mods.

The Sprinter and Toyota shown are examples. You can use other compatible vehicle mods.

For the ProMods edition, place the ProMods packages at the bottom and keep those packages in their recommended order.

🚗 Getting Started

Put the Passenger Routes .scs file into Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod.

Enable the edition matching your map setup and disable older Passenger Routes builds.

Enable CargoLite – Cars & Vans and your compatible car or van mod.

Arrange the mods in the order shown above, with No DeadEnds! at the top if you use it.

Load your profile and use a compatible car or van.

Purchase and attach a CargoLite Car or Van Trailer through Trailer Purchase.

Open the Cargo Market to look for passenger jobs.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same file as the ATS edition?

No. Passenger Routes ETS2 is a separate mod with its own locations and trailer-based setup. Use the file for your game.

Can I activate both Passenger Routes map editions?

No. Choose the edition matching your map setup: Original SCS Map OR ProMods. Never enable both together.

Should I keep older versions enabled?

No. Replace previous versions and keep only one CargoLite version and one Passenger Routes edition active.

Does Passenger Routes require CargoLite?

Yes. The ETS2 edition uses CargoLite’s Car and Van trailers for passenger jobs. CargoLite can also be used on its own for freight jobs.

Which vehicles are supported?

Use a car or van mod compatible with the CargoLite trailer you want to attach. Vehicles are separate mods, and compatibility depends on their trailer support.

Do I need the exact vehicles shown?

No. The Sprinter and Toyota in the image simply show an example setup. You can use other compatible car and van mods.

Where do I find passenger jobs?

Purchase and attach a CargoLite Car or Van Trailer, then open the Cargo Market.

All four passenger services support both trailers.

Why are there no passenger jobs at my location?

Make sure you have enabled the correct Passenger Routes edition for your map, that CargoLite is active, and that you have attached a compatible Car or Van Trailer.

Check the Cargo Market, rather than the Freight Market. Available offers depend on your location, route network and driver profile.

Also check that no older Passenger Routes or CargoLite version is still enabled.

Why do pickup points only offer Uber Ride?

That is intentional. Pickup points are dedicated to Uber Ride jobs. Hotels, business destinations and airports support the other services according to their location and service rules.

Why can’t I see passengers inside my vehicle?

The CargoLite trailers are invisible and do not display passengers inside your car or van. People placed at pickup locations are decorative scenery.

Is No DeadEnds! required?

It is optional, but highly recommended. Without it, invisible barriers may block access to some passenger locations.

Use the ETS2 version and place it above Passenger Routes.

Does No DeadEnds! unlock missing map DLCs?

No. It does not replace any required map DLCs. If you use ProMods, you still need the DLCs required by your installed ProMods version.

What if I experience stuttering with a trailer attached?

The optional Ownable Trailer Stutter Fix may help. Follow its author’s installation instructions and check compatibility with any other economy mods you use.

Can I use Passenger Routes with ProMods?

Yes, with the Passenger Routes ProMods edition matching your setup. Disable the Original SCS Map edition, place Passenger Routes above your ProMods packages, and keep the ProMods packages in their recommended order.

Can I use it with another map combination?

Use the Passenger Routes edition intended for your map setup. Compatibility with other map combinations is not guaranteed, as overlapping map changes can affect passenger locations and access.

🐛 Still Having Trouble?

Leave a comment below with your game version, Passenger Routes edition, CargoLite version, vehicle mod and a description of the issue.

For location problems, include the location name and a screenshot. For crashes, please provide the game.log.txt from immediately after the crash.

Brollish

Trailers break the transmission management in Jon Ruda’s RVM and Lord models. When a trailer is attached, the transmission refuses to shift gears in automatic mode—or it shifts in an unnatural way—requiring you to really force it by pushing hard on the accelerator.

from what I can remember jon ruda's mods are very high quality and complex. maybe thats the reason for it. I can try getting in touch with him asking him if it is fixable.
