HELLO THERE, bros. How is everyone doing? All is well I hope? Today is Monday and that means another Monday Post is about to blow you away by it's volume of epicness. Strap in and enjoy the ride ^^

STELLAR BLADE got censored after all. Over the week I saw some people saying this is not a big deal, while others getting completely hysterical and sharing screenshots of canceling their PlayStation PLUS subscriptions. Personally I am glad I sold my PS4 console several years ago. I am literally too old for this shit by now. TOMB RAIDER. While Stellar Blade was getting censored somebody in charge of TOMB RAIDER decided to (partially) revert it's censorship. Yet again, I could not care less. I would rather play the original (or a pirated, offline PC version) than worry constantly about "my" games being messed with without my knowledge.

THE PS3 ERA was the last time I felt at home with a PlayStation console. After that it was nothing but a hostile environment for the men of culture such as myself. Looks like Stellar Blade has woken up some of the normies to reality, but to those of us who has been paying attention this is nothing new.

HEX GIRLS got updated for the modern audiences. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I was always a big Hex Girls fun. And I mean the band itself, not the Schooby Doo cartoon as a whole. I used to listen to their music on repeat at some point in my life. Good old days of me been a western cartoons weeb. ^^ In case you don't know what I am talking about, here is a sample: https://youtu.be/1P_BlUY2eF4?si=bJFFrExKamv7Xi6f

TO SUM IT UP. Fuck remasters, fuck updates, fuck all the modern bullshit. I will continue to draw on paper, code in the extremely outdated version of Editra and play original versions of old games to the rest of my life! Stella Glow. Speaking of which, I am kind of blown away by how much I continue to enjoy Stella Glow. That game is quickly becoming one of my top favorites along with P4G and P3Portable. Holy shit, even the music in this game rocks. And of course the literal translation is a big plus as well. (This stuff would get "localized" for sure these days).

ON THAT (at least somewhat) positive note let us move on to the only discussion that really matters: the ongoing work on insuring that Queen Trainer will be the best game evar.THE WORK. First half of the week was spent (yet again) on coding and testing, but closer to the weakened I finally had the chance to draw some stuff. For more info (and spoilers) make sure to check out the EXTRA!! post.AND THAT IS ALL. I am leaving you with this awesome GIF and will see you all next Monday. Thank you for the support.

XD That GIF is awesome. Didn't know about the Hex Girl redesign. I can send you my NSFW Scooby Game's Hex Girls if you want, I think they came up pretty good :)

akabur

Do you even need to ask? Send me EVERYTHING! XD

Man Sakuya's first battle buff song is fire. 'Saa saa saaaaaa!'

hmgirlpopuri

Reminded of Yoko Taro's response to some controversy over 2B's butt. https://twitter.com/yokotaro/status/818064875456843780 "Since the 2B butt incident a lot of obscene pictures have been uploaded, but it's a pain to go around collecting them, so I wish they'd be sent to me in a zip file every week."

Let me be old, I liked remasters, the idea of having a NES or Masterdrive game, or even some DOS/Amiga games in better graphics was awesome, but nowadays they are either overused, or useless, Graphics got to a top years ago, Lara looked as good as she can, I don't need to see her hair noses or more detail, as you say is a shame but fuck remasters (and not get me started on the creativity bankrupt)

Deonast

Ok that gif is funny good share. As for Hex Girls not sure I knew of them but the you tube video was fun. Yikes if that is the new artwork on the right for them, yes burn all remakes.

Moxence

FFX WHAT A MASTER CLASS !!! But now i need to cry Hex girls was my fav cartoon band and now they treat Thorn like a cracked TT_TT

To the US puritans, smallboobed = underage every time, the real Lolita, not just Lolita-esque ("loli"). Therefore, "Must Be Avoided!" But of course biggest boobs = "toxic male gaze!", which must ALSO be avoided. And no blondes anywhere either, because gentlemen prefer them. It is weird and ridiculous.

The thing that upsets me the most is when moral busybodies think they have the right to change the original artists vision in an effort to control what I watch and consume. Even if it's garbage and awful, even if the changes make it better (they never do), I'd rather consume the original unblemished version. Censorship and alteration is always bad. But, nothing we can do about it at this point. Hopefully the normies will make the pendulum swing back the other way eventually.

"...closer to the weakened..." A Freudian slip? :)

Trevor Bond

Yup, just let me sit in the good old days of the 90's and ignore everything else the mainstream's been put out. D&D didn't suck, NSFW was the way to go and the humor was crass and hilarious, while everything was neon colours, high energy and XTREME! Ah, good times.

Thier decision ended up with the worst of both worlds; they pissed off the SJW's by releasing the content anyway, and still censored the artists. Mega lame. Only thing left to do is let things simmer then re-release the costumes as paid DLC

akabur

You words describe it perfectly. That's exactly how I remember that era being. Everything was just alive with energy. -_-

akabur

Honestly, I think in any situation, the best you could do in any situation is stuck to your guns. Of course sometimes it's easier said than done. Even I try to be careful with what I put into my games. :(

akabur

Yes, I remember that moment. That is exactly why in my mind I always thought that even after the west and Europe gaming fails, my japanese bros will always stay strong. I am not so sure anymore though. The men of culture everywhere are getting oppressed more and more.

akabur

I only have access to Popo's song at the moment. But I love it so much. Can't wait to hear the Sakuya's one. P.S. I freaking love her regular battle theme, that plays when you fight her or with her first few times.

akabur

Oh, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the idea of a remaster. I think it's a great way to preserve a game. Only for me to be happy about it, it should be very faithful to the original, and be done by people with passion and skill. As it is right now, the recent Tomb Raider remaster is the only one that fits that category :)

akabur

You said it, my dude.

akabur

I have been eyeing Xenoblade X for a while now. I am well aware of the censorship, but I think there was an uncensored ROM created by fans. I have Tokyo Mirage Sessions ROM with all content restored waiting it's turn ;)

akabur

Don't let them get to you. These creatures are not real Hex Girls.

akabur

Completely agree with everything you say here. Makes me feel a bit better knowing that I am not alone at feeling this way. P.S. The pendulum will definitely swing back, there definitely will be a renessanse, I just don't know how old i will be by the time it comes.

akabur

Haha. Probably. I always re-read what I wrote before posting, but this one definitely did slip through ^^

ButterB22

Not going to lie Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated (the one from 2010) Hex girls aren't too far off from the orginals.

Nepurin

Hey there Aka, long time no see! I am a fully free man right now and the world is my oyster or whatever they say. Yeah, I feel you. Usually remasters are fucking horrible, don't add anything and just lose the soul of the original. Honestly the Hex girls "update" feels like it is done to spite people, like the entire Velma show. I miss the times when games and anime were not that present in mainstream media. Now I am off to catch up on the other posts, keep up a good work Aka!

akabur

Yes, unlike the modern version.

akabur

First of all congratulations on your personal liberation! And yes, I also miss the times when watching cartoons, anime or playing video games was considered lame by the normies. I honestly do.

akabur

Can't share it here, but you can find it in the pinned post on my Tweeter.
