HELLO THERE, bros. It's Monday and this is your omnipotent leader speaking to you through the means of the Interweb. All is right in the world. Carry on as usual.DON'T YOU GUYS HAVE CELLPHONES? Modern gaming industry is such a circus. Not gonna go into the details, if you know you know. What I don't understand is why people celebrate this as a victory? Corporations like SONY have entire offices of people who's only task is to figure out how to rip the customer off without braking too many laws. Another blow will come as soon as the outrage dies down. This is exactly my problem with modern everything: why it must be crucial to treat the provider of the service as an enemy and fight for every inch. Whatever happened to simply providing good service?

THIS IS COMPLETELY RANDOM but I leave it here to brighten up the mood a bit. I found this game on EBAY. The price was absolutely insane $300 or something. But, forget the price, check out the title: "Witches and Vampires, Ghost Pirates of Ashburry". Fucking hell, it has witches, vampires, ghosts and pirates! From title alone you know that this has got to be the best game ever! XDSTELLA GLOW. Speaking of best games ever, Stella Glow is the best thing that happened to me this year. I got to the scene above and it had me rolling on the floor with laughter. Not gonna go into the details, those who played it will remember this for sure. Claus is Mr.X what a twist XD. I am so glad they even put some budget aside to deliver this one in a form of a proper fullscreen CG illustration despite it being such a silly scene. XDGAME OF THE YEAR! I haven't beaten the game yet, so I can't be 100% sure but from what I have seen so far, Stella Glow has already become one of my favorite games. Art-style, music, writing -- everything is close to perfect. IMHO.WORK. WORK. I don't remember if I told you this or not but I have been taking driving practice lessons since last week. This stuff takes quite a bit of my time since it's in a different city. It takes one hour to get there, then 45 minutes to drive around the city with the instructor and after that another hour to get home. Basically I lose about half of my day every day now. This is one final push though, as soon as I get the license my schedule will get back to normal. THAT BEING SAID, last week I managed to complete quite a few art assets, the main being another background that will be used both for the Muscle Men Competition and the Harvest Festival events. The good news is that this was the last background that's been missing. This week I will continue to work on art assets, but it will be mostly chibis. Depending of the complexity of the composition chibi drawings could take some time, but they are much easier to ink and color than a full background. So being done with all the backgrounds is a big step forward. I'll talk about this some more in the EXTRA!! post, make sure to check it out.THAT IS ALL I have to say for this week's Monday post. I will see you all next Monday! Thank you for your support!-Aka-

The sad part is that I got into IT just because I wanted to play games. I even built my own PC. Now I can't justify majority of the new games 😔. Well I am glad I can still use the PC for work, but Indi games are also keeping my childhood dream alive.

akabur

Well, I am incredibly handsome, but you will have to take my word for it. Thank you for your support, man. It always cheers me up to know that my work brightens somebody's day a bit. Worry not, Queen Trainer will provide you with quite a few hours of proper entertainment! As soon as it's released -_-

akabur

Yeah, well, that's just life I guess... Things simply don't work out the way we hoped they would sometimes. A lot of times actually. But we need to try and focus on the good things that are still present -_-

Dietz

Yeah, this was not a "Good job team!" situation. Intentions have been declared. Ah well. Thanks for reminding me, I still need to finish Stella Glow.

Deonast

You should try gog.com they still have some good old games. I got into IT to make a living and have money to play games, but sadly while I have lots of games now, work also takes away much of my free time, sigh.

Deonast

That is a lot of travelling for driving lessons. Hmm I sometimes wonder If I can still remember how to drive. Has been at least 6+ years since I had a car. The old one broke down and I found it cheaper to sell it to scrap and to take public transport. Annoying on weekends though local transport not so good.

Well, I kinda understand why some see it as a Victory, If Sony's idea went forward, HD2 would be dead, as no one wants a PS account if you don't have a PS, yes you can't beat corporations, but this blow ended in nothing, yes they will get us next time, but will be one instead of two times. Awesome update and keet the good job

Varsh

Thanks for the recommendation. I have looked into gog.com and other streames. I do play a few games here and there, like borrowing friends and relatives PlayStation (4 and 5) to play GoW. And in PC games like Ori, Hellsblade, and Plague tale. But lately I just prefer Mangas and Webtoons. I have tried playing older games, but my preference is definitely towards the morden graphics side. I am looking forward to "No rest for the wicked" this year. And ya, I get the less time thingy in IT. I am trying to work less, but it isn't as easy right now. 😅

Brutaljustice

Sony reversed their decision this morning so another victory for democracy💪

DMG Entertainment

Wait for the changes to come and the ton of microtransactions to hit in HD2. Can't wait for devs to wake up and realize that the pc market is 5x that of consoles that are dying a slow death. Handhelds like steamdeck will be the heir to consoles.

vladeemer

I managed to get a physical copy of Stellar Blade, and play with my console disconnected from the internet to avoid the censor patch. It's a great game, and the correct version of the holiday bunny outfit is S-tier content. It's ridiculous the hoops we have to jump through just to play the games we want, but there it is.

The problem is gaming has become a part of many people's lives, like a second job. This means unlike before, where many people just didn't buy a given game, these big name games are now social events 'that I just can't miss!'. Yes, that's a quote. And companies want it that way so they have more direct access to your wallet at all times... if you HAVE to get a new DLC to join your pals in the game, that's money. If people would back off a bit and realize you can connect to people a million ways now and games are just luxury items not necessities, these companies would enter a panic! But for now, when they're basically just another utility bill, they are taking the aggressive stance telling you you need them, you will pay them, and if you don't won't you just be the biggest loser since you're NOT playing (game) like everyone else?

hmgirlpopuri

The trickiest part of Stella Glow is that every single companion has their own ending so you wind up wanting to see them all!

akabur

That's the main reason I am incapable of playing any of the MMORPGS -- in order to play one properly it should be the only game you play. And that is why I prefer Helldivers 1 over the second one, because first one is just an online game you can play with friends and if you don't play for 1 month you don't miss anything, where second game (although being pretty awesome) is a book example of "game as a service". Well whatever -_-

akabur

Can't comment on that just yet. ^_^

akabur

For me "back in the day" is not 80's but rather 90's and 00's, and back then things were quite different. Gaming was still a rather niche thing and many developers weren't doing it for the money.

akabur

Props to you on playing the game the right way. It's just a stroke of luck that you are able to do it though, an accident. Sony won't repeat this mistake again.

akabur

This is all just so tiresome...

akabur

I am 41 one and this will be my first driving license. Never needed one, taxi serves is pretty great and also cheap in russia. But things have changed a bit so now being able how to drive will make my life much easier. I just need to make sure I don't listen to any Initial D soundtracks while driving.

akabur

Exactly. But whatever, it is what it is. I hope you will find the time to get back to playing Stella Glow, I think it's worth it.

Deonast

Real reason comes out, next you'll be taking those driving skills to Japan and overtaking on the inside in corners in mountain roads with your front wheel in that water drainage chanel next to the road :)

vladeemer

Publishers back then also hadn't adopted the ingenious plan of hiring staff/contractors who despised their customer base, and most would even have gone so far as to call such practices 'self-defeating' and 'stupid'. Imagine that!

Trevor Bond

Sadly the fans drive the demand...

Nepurin

Damn, you make me want to buy a 3DS ngl. Glad the backgrounds are done! Good thing about the entire Helldivers debacle is that afaik the PS account is no longer required, and thank God! Still, it's always sad to be reminded of the state of modern video games... Keep up the good work Aka! All the best! (Also, I've decided to check out Hornycraft today to see what all of the fuss is about and was pleasantly surprised to see a Witch Trainer Easter Egg in there, still my fav of your games)
