HELLO, my dear patient bros! Welcome to another Monday post. Let's discuss some completely random topics I’ve collected for you over the last week. Are you ready? Let’s do this!

BLACK FLAG REMASTER! To be honest, I don’t even care anymore, but I still want to at least mention it since I like the game. My news feed is full of silly comparisons trying to prove that some things are getting nerfed or changed for the worse, while other people are fighting tooth and nail in the comments to prove that the remaster is actually going to be a huge improvement. Personally, I have multiple ways to play the original game—Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, emulation, you name it—so I really don’t care about any of this. But I’m sure the remaster bros will get a kick out of it when it drops :)

THE SHOP. This week’s shop item is an old piece that was commissioned by a certain Nordic fan. This time, I was able to locate the actual PSD file for it, so those of you who are interested in that should appreciate it. Anyway, go check it out in the shop for yourself.

STEAM. I tested the Steam achievements for Princess Quest yesterday, and everything seems to be working as it should. I’m very happy I was able to do this myself without getting Xaljio involved and making his life more complicated than it needs to be. ^_^ So anyway, I submitted the game for re-review. It should take another 3 to 5 days. If it gets greenlit, I can go ahead and release it. Fingers crossed :)

SHINING BLADE. I bought a little present for myself. I say “little” because it was quite cheap—around 10 bucks, not including shipping. My PSP collection has officially expanded to 6 games. I use my Retroid Pocket 4 Pro (my dedicated PSP machine) to play these games, so I don’t really need to buy them physically. But having them on my shelf really makes me feel good inside, and that happens less and less as I get older, so I cherish these emotions and the physical things that give them to me.

THE FUTURE SUCKS. Opening the game reminded me how much things have gone to shit in the past 15 years. This is a regular edition game, and it contains a full-color manual that looks more like a small artbook, along with a whole bunch of other colorful additions. #^_^#

LUMINOUS ARC 3. My main (story-driven) game continues to be LA3. I’m having so much fun with it. The writing is very entertaining and, although the main story is still mostly slice-of-life for now, it’s extremely enjoyable (for me at least). The latest big event was the royal princess Inaluna getting transferred to our academy, and she is just wonderful. I can’t wait for some romantic events with her XD

THE WORK. Last week, I was mostly busy working on two new characters who will be appearing in Reporter Trainer at a certain point in the story. To keep it short: one is an April O’Neil superfan, and the other is a mean girl from a wealthy family. For more details, check out this week’s EXTRA!! post.

AND THAT IS ALL I have to say. Thank you for your support, and I will see you all next week. Laterz.-Aka-

Looking awesome, nice collection. I think we mention it before, I liked remasters/remakes when they added something, no only new graphics but some new content, I know I'm among the monority, but i don't feel like playing a game again if it only looks prettier.

The most important part, germany got the most steam " banned porn games nowadays", the LA3 and shining blade news. The AC BF resync news, are flooding everyones feed. But tbh, the shanty's are nice and well made, us the now svrapped auto desync while " detected" is great.

akabur

Yeah, when I was filling out the Steam forms, there were three countries that lit up right away where my game would be unavailable. Germany was one of them (the other two I don’t remember, to be honest).

For me personally, remasters and remakes will always feel like completely different games. I mean, it’s obvious that the people who originally made the game are no longer around, so this will be something else with the same name on it.

Ghost 9000

Well actually in their little "interview" the director of the original game was saying it's nice that a good share of the team did work on the original including the current director but I 100% get what you mean. Me personally I like the idea for this remake but I only hope it feels as nice as it looks as I have seen with their games lately that they look better than what that feel to play

DMG Entertainment

You need to enjoy the old way and embrace it, with the new sony thing about play it or lose it for games coming out. The fights about ownership of a product you buy is getting stronger since it's now expanding in the gaming world and to car makers of all things.

MrLazare

You are so right about the old game manuals. Opening a box and finding a mini-artbook inside is a feeling the digital age just can't beat.

Trevor Bond

I can't wait until my cousins are telling their kids 'You used to have to actually have a FILE on your device. And it was yours, you could save it and open it whenever you liked and it was the same version of the game! Modern games suck.'

Ouff that was a tough week, moving to a new apartment due to crazy neighbours at the old place. But anyway - good luck with upcoming (I hope) Steam release!

Nepurin

Mean girls from wealthy families are the best, glad there will be one! Honestly, I don’t understand how can anyone be excited for the AC4 remaster. It looks fine but the games doesn’t need any refreshment, it’s fine as it is. Old games were something else tho, nothing beats the excitement of opening a new game and reading the entire manual just because it was fun… Anyway, I hope I’ll be back to regular commenting on my favourite educational content creators blog. Have a great week Aka!

MANITU Games

Make one for Star Channel 34 👀

Nikraria

Good luck with the steam release! I'm pretty sure you will have a great success there!

Well, don’t mind me—as the years go by, I turn more and more into an old man who doesn’t even understand why things are happening the way they do half of the time. I hope this remake/remaster will be everything you expect it to be, and even more. :)

akabur

Yeah, at this point all I know is that buying and playing old games (either on an emulator or on the original hardware) makes me feel good, while being exposed to anything modern just makes me feel depressed.

akabur

Make what? A manual? XD Have mercy—I’m already at the limit of my abilities here. Freaking Queen Trainer took me 3 years. I need to choose my battles. OK, and now I’m realizing that you probably said this to MrLazare, in which case I fully support your statement. ^^

akabur

Yeah. I try not too think too much how even more dystopian things will be in the future.

akabur

Crazy neighbors is one of my main phobias. Had that experience a few times and had to move also.

akabur

Yeah. Many (MANY!!) years ago I remember getting excited about old games getting remade, but looking back I can't recall even one time when the final result did not disappoint me.
