HELLO and welcome to another Monday Post! You know the drill: it's Monday, which means it's time for another blog post from your favorite spiritual advisor, Akabur, the Princess Trainer Guy.
PIXEL GOODNESS. A few days ago, MrLazare sent me a whole pack of all kinds of pixelated AI creations based on my work. Some of them are pretty great. Others are simply amazing. It's hard to choose just one or two to share (and I know AI creations trigger some people), so I decided to do the following: I separated all the pictures MrLazare sent me into three volumes and will be sharing them with Monday's posts in the form of RAR archives. Those of you who are interested can simply download the archives and check out these pictures for yourselves. (The first volume can be found in the attachment's section to this post.)
SHOP. This week's new item added to the shop is an illustration I created 13 years ago. It's a nice, clean drawing that tells a wholesome little story. You know I'm a big fan of heartwarming stories like that. This one comes with a high-resolution ink scan and the original PSD file, which I've never shared before. Anyway, go check it out in the shop (if you're on the SupporterPLUS tier or higher). ^_^
BRINESHARK! Remember those cool QT promo posters Bob created for me completely free of charge? Well, now Bob has decided to try his hand at making his own educational games. He goes by the name Brineshark now and has just launched his own Patreon page, which I'm more than happy to promote because of how much he's helped me over the years. It wasn't just the posters, either. He also created the cover illustration for that "Princess Quest" Star Channel 34 episode, along with a couple of other things. Anyway, go check out his game! I played it a bit, and I thought it looked great. https://www.patreon.com/cw/Brineshark
IRL NEWS. This is what the back-side door of my car looks like right now. I know you don't have a frame of reference, but believe me—it looked completely different just a couple of days ago. Some nice construction worker put this nice dent in it with his truck. (While my car was parked!) I was close by, so we exchanged insurance details and all that, but I was already stressing over some ongoing IRL stuff, so you can imagine my reaction to this little non-optional side quest that I have to embark on now. -_-
WT APK 2. Right, before I forget, here's a slightly updated APK for Witch Trainer. The previous version didn't have proper access to the Preferences menu, so saving the game was a bit tricky (from what I understand). Just like last time, I didn't test the game myself. Also, I can't share it in the public post since it contains wholesome scenes, so I'll be sharing it as a separate patrons-only post instead. Once it's been tested, I'll upload it to my itch.io page.
GAMES (1). After beating Luminous Arc 3, it was time to choose my next main game, and that's harder than it sounds when you have too many games to choose from. At the moment, I'm kind of playing two games at once, and that just doesn't feel healthy. One of those games is Trio of Towns. I like it a lot so far, and the prospect of romance in Harvest Moon games has always been one of the main things that draws me to them. But these games are such time sinks that, although I'm having fun, I know that with how little gaming time I have each day, it'll take me forever to beat it. :(
GAMES (2). My second main game at the moment is Fire Emblem Awakening. I know this game was butchered pretty badly during localization, so I decided to play the Japanese version instead. The bad thing is that the game isn't voiced, and my Japanese reading level isn't good enough to play it effortlessly. So, quite often, I really have to focus hard to understand what's on the screen, and I don't always have enough energy for that. -_- The good thing about this one is that I get the extra satisfaction of knowing I'm also improving my Japanese reading ability while I play. (About 20 years ago, I used to get that same feeling from playing games in English.) I also like how straightforward it is. I always feel like I'm making progress, and the prospect of S-rank endings is pretty enticing as well.
THE WORK. I decided to take a break from writing to work on Thompson's mistress character sprite—Linda. She was already in the game, but only as a placeholder sprite. Linda is supposed to be this dumb blonde with fake tits and lips. I tried not to make her too attractive since I don't have any bonding events planned for her, but she's still an important part of the story, and seeing her placeholder sprite for so long was starting to get on my nerves. So anyway, that's what I'm currently working on.
AND THAT IS ALL I have to say for now. Thank you for your checking in on this week's Monda Post. Make sure to live a like if you haven't yet and I will see you all next Monday. Laterz.
