It's Monday my dudes! Let's do this thing! Let's gooooooooo!

Blizzard. Western entertainment industry has been imploding for the past several years. Nothing new here, moving on.

Skyrim. Discovered a small mining village near Riften. Went into the mines, met 4 miners, all of which were women.  Women having to work at the freaking mines... That's just depressing. Something is definitely wrong with the world of Skyrim, and it's not the dragons returning.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered. Bought the cartridge last year and been waiting for the right moment to boot this baby up. I heard this one was good but didn't expect it to be THIS good. They sure knew how to make games back in the day. Very atmospheric, makes you feel like you really are a part of the world, busting ghosts with the boys. Also female character's design is great as expected from an old-school game. :)

The work. So far everything is going according to plan and I am being optimistic, and hoping next Monday to be the day.

Hugs and kisses. Thank you for your support bros. I'll see you all next Monday.

It looks like nothing much to report so, I hope you will have a great week, keep safe.

Ace

Hola Agosto, maybe Blizzard will really implode this time

Danlorn

I'm honestly surprised that you're still playing Skyrim 😅 I hope it won't be the same level bad experience for you as with TOCS 3 and you won't make yourself keep playing it until the end, because... this game has no end at all 😶

@akaman I will point out something for you: In 1842, the Coal Mines Act banned females of any age from working underground and required boys who worked underground, to be no younger than ten years old. And more: Although women are often thought to have only worked at the surface of mines, women did in fact often hold roles that required them to work underground, before this became illegal in 1842. What is more women were hired in various heavy industries for ages, to the level that it started to be outlawed for various reasons by international treaties. Here you have source: https://www.ilo.org/dyn/normlex/en/f?p=NORMLEXPUB:12100:0::NO::P12100_ILO_CODE:C089 So did women work underground? Yup. Foundries? Yup. Quarries? Yup. It's just law that was introduced across literally ages that step by step pushed women to be a housewife (aka "traditional"). Only recently some countries started to change laws again to stop this discriminatory practice. For example friend of mine, she is a female that finished university on topic of oil drilling. The only problem is that most countries (ie Saudi Arabia) do not hire females because of some sexist principles, she was forced to find employment in Norway.

I know that women did all sorts of dangerous jobs and heavy labor during the war time and such. I just find the whole idea to be depressing. -_-

akabur

Yeah, Skyrim has no and, I see it now... That's why I've been playing it a bit less lately. I think it's a great game to just pick up every now and then.

akabur

Well, we all know that Blizzard was dead for a while now. Watching it's corps finally getting devoured feels almost cathartic.

akabur

To a regular degree.

Countries, nations , and peoples did not force women to give up these roles, women hardly did them in the first place, except in dire need or situation. Of course there are the uncommon examples of yes. Vast majority of women don't want to work in a coal mine, or produce munitions in a factory, unless there is a desperate reason. I mean hell, most men are not even inclined to take those options. Women are inclined by nature to feminine roles, men to men's. No ideology will ever change it. Universal egalitarianism and feminism are lies.. Always will be.

Drachenfels

Did you click the link? If an international treaty forbidding women to work in a given industry is not forcing women out, then what is? :-D In my home country women's application to coal mine was outright rejected till ~2014. Nowadays ladies can apply and their CV will be considered.

Sid Santos

Did love the extra care in that Ghostbusters game that made it basically a Ghostbusters 3.

It's good that the laws were put in place. I was speaking to the larger aspect of society to be sure. Women shouldn't be working in quarries, mines, oil rigs and such Call it sexist, misogynist, or whatever constructed term by revolutionaries, Marxists, and feminists you wish. It doesn't bother me.

Drachenfels

Well my friend (female) does work on oil rig and she likes it, so why should I care how to call you? For me, it's shocking that you guys are shocked to see in a fantasy game women in role that actually women in the past did. Wanted to make records straight and do whatever you want with that knowledge.

simon22

It’s entertaining though to see blizzard get it comeuppance.

Denis

Drachenfels, you missed the point why these laws were established in the first place. Children and women’s labor became “more popular” since industrial revolution required less physical labors and hence good-old-day capitalists can pay them less money. This lead to nearly extinction of several areas in England. Literally. So, “these sexiest” laws were made as a self-protection mechanism of the society against greediness of factory owners. Nowadays, women are used as streikbrechers to reduce the price (salary) of modern “proletariat” or make them more controllable. Nothing personal, just money and biz.

Drachenfels

I did not miss the point and on top of that it was not even discssued in here. My point was: there were women, there are women and there will be women in trades that according to some only men do or did. :-)

Hego Demask

No one said the occupations were only done by men in the past or now. Simply, it was rare then and still is now.

Trevor Bond

Bustin' makes ya feel good, huh? Nice! It's a heck of a game! Enjoy it! As for Skyrim: it's a land so testosterone-poisoned they probably think daggers are children's toys and fighting trolls should only require manly sweat and a furrowed brow. What ISN'T wrong with it? Seriously, read some of the old viking sagas. "Hold my breath for hours while ripping a monster to pieces underwater barehanded and hauling his whole treasure trove up to the surface in one trip in subzero temperatures? HAH! I'll do it with my feet tied together!"

Hivedragon

Man do I love that GB game.... really need to get that remastered version.

Vowl

AKAMAN ты жив?

akabur

Agreed. That game is pretty much Ghostbusters 3 movie that you can play.

akabur

Yeah... I guess as a company they still do what they are supposed to: provide us with entertainment.

akabur

Come to think of it I never did read anything like that. Maybe I need to give it a try ^^ Also bustin' feels super good! :)

akabur

It was first time I played it. Had a lot of fun :)

akabur

Yes I am in fact alive. And I've been making posts every week for 2+ years straight now to prove it :)
