314 - Persona, Initial D, Agarest. (Patreon)

Hello dear, bros. How is life? All is good? All is wonderful? Are you optimistic about the future? Well of course you are! Why wouldn't you be? Welcome to the most optimistic and family friendly Patreon campaign ever. Hosted by your bellowed leader: ALABUBUR! 

Patreon messages. Last week I made an effort to reply to all the unanswered messages I had in my Patreon inbox. Some of them were from (FUCKING!) four years ago by the way. Better late than never, right? Right!? T_T Well, in any case, I promise to do better from now on. Feel free to spam my Patreon inbox for whatever reason, I promise to reply during this century.

Agarest Senki Mariage. Finally beat the game. Apparently it only had two generations. Took me about 40 hours. It was fun, but I think I had my fill of the Agarest series for now. Time to play that Sakura Wars GameBoy Color game :)

P3R. Just as I expected Persona 3 remake is a complete disappointment. I remember when I said I don't like P5 and some of you kindly suggested that I should have my head checked. Well, all I know is that P3 and P4 made me feel a whole bunch of of emotions, when with P5 all I felt was apathy.

Everything about P3R seems inferior to me. It feels like a P5 reskin, with colorful visuals and cities full of faceless pedestrians. The mysterious and foreboding atmosphere of the original game is gone.  (Well at least there is no talking cat that narrates your entire fucking life every second like in P5.)

Initial D. I continue to watch Initial D and I like it more and more. In fact I think I enjoy it even more than I did MF Ghost. The story is very grounded here, the characters are well written. I even went from tolerating the art style to kind of liking in it now. All in all, I am really glad I decided to give this anime a try.

The work. I have nothing to say. Not gonna lie it's starting to get a little annoying that, despite so many hours spent working, I have no news to brag about. But it is what it is. I am testing, coding, adjusting, writing and so on. Many little things need my attention. Thank you for your support and patience, bros.-Aka-

Your not alone in prefering Initial D over MF Ghost. Initial D is just so much better. I think it's because there are just to many racers in MF Ghost so you don't ever really get emotional over any of them, not of them stand out since they are all supposed to be all these hot shot racers. Where as in Intial D the dogfights are just so much more personal, and you get to see Takumi evolve as a racer. It's just plain better, not that MF Ghost is bad, but it's just very forgettable after you watch it. Anyway, keep on doing the things you enjoy mate!

A disappointing remake? Color me shocked, whatever color that happens to be. I knew they'd screw it up, everything has to be 'updated' to current year standards and it ruins things. I've fought people for hours about P3 deserving way more of my respect than P5. Initial D is definitely a banger of a series, watched most of it with my friend back in the day (and bought all the soundtrack disks!). As for the work? Hey, as a Janitor I can sympathize. You put in eight to ten hours and by the time you're done nobody notices anything at all... but you still did the work!

Hey there ALABUBUR, life is shit atm, thanks for asking. Glad you enjoy Initial D. It is a great show in my humble opinion. As for P3R the only thing that would make me want to get it is if they remade the Maya/Isako Toriumi S.Link and made it into an actual romance option. My teen heart was badly hurt because of that, when I first played P3. and I never want to relive that, even years later. Also, thanks for the response, time flies, I would never have believed that I messaged you over 2 years ago. And as always, take care Aka!

As someone who's only played the Shin Megami side of that whole multiverse, Person as a whole always struck me as too melodramatic to be interesting. Which is saying something.

Yeah, this is pretty much how I feel too. There is a lot of racing in MFG but some of the characters are barely have any screen time at all. Maybe it was intentional of course, but to me initial D just feels way more grounded in reality and because of that it is easier to relate to the characters. Anyway, thank you for the support :)

Well, I still think that P3 is a good remake, it's just I don't think it was necessary and also I honestly don't want to play it since I have stronger confection to the original. In any case I am a big pessimist when it comes to the modern day game industry so I don't expect anything from ATLUS anymore. I am just very grateful for P3FES and P3Portable and P4G, and plan to geek out about them till the day I die XD Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this man. I hope after all my big talks Queen Trainer will deliver. Fingers crossed. :)

Fucking stop calling me that before it became a thing! My name is Babublur! Shenmue <3 First time I played that game I was like 15 years old or something, and it was an unofficial Russian dub. There was no internet back then so I didn't know any better. That dub was absolutely horrible. Hearing characters speak like my drunk neighbor was sure something. Didn't stop me from enjoying the game though. It's nice being a kid :) Bod is working on another poster but he is having serious technical difficulties (he told me his PC died or something) so there are delays. But next poster is definitely coming. ^^

OK. I wrote a really long comment but I see that Patreon decided to cut it all out. I won't give up though. I will write it all over again. I was saying that back when I was like 15 years old I used to play Shenmue in russian dub. There was no internet so I didn't know any better. Hearing Shenmue characters speak like my drunk neighbor was a stuff of nightmares. It didn't stop me from enjoying the game though. It's nice being a kid.

Fucking hell. I am supposed to be the only one complaining here, but quite a few comments this week seem to mention that life is kind of not the best for them right now. That sucks -_- Well from what I know her link is pretty much the same. The added little stuff here and there to many links, that's the only thing that interests me. But I doubt I will be able to enjoy it since there is no guarantee all the additions fit in well, and I will always compare everything to the original in my mind. Nah. To me personally the remake does not worth it. Thank you for they literal years of sticking around, man.

You got it right. Persona is very different from Shin Megami. Persona is mostly a teen drama role play simulator. :)

Yeah, maybe I'll get it if its real cheap some day in the future, I doubt it will beat the original in any way tho. And hey, thank you for being the best content creator, Akabro. I mean it. It may be seem silly but your games mean a lot more to me than just entertainment material. Glad to be a part of community :)
