Hi everyone, just trying to gauge my audience's preferences on something. Since it's about a plot point for ascent, very mild spoilers ahead. So click away now if you prefer ...

I've been thinking of including a mini arc where a male character enters a shard with Zoey & co and transforms into a woman. Obvious shenanigans would ensue with progressing lewdness, from both POVs. There's a few reasons I could see why people wouldn't want that as a prominent plot point, but also a few reasons why it could be a lot of fun and why people would want to read it.

So, no deep analysis of why is needed or anything, just respond to the poll with your preference :)

Personally I would like to read such an arc, but I could also definitely see it being contentious. This might be better to do in some optional non-canon way?

I'm a bit behind on chapters but I do read and support you for girls and girls with dicks. If I wanted male stuff I'd read the millions of other stuff with males :V you have a niche which I enjoy. Up to you tho, you're the author.

TRUST Typically I would say "depends on HOW the gender bending is handled" and I trust you as an author VERIFY But… …I have read two of your other works and am deeply suspicious of what direction any gender bending would take ( looking at you _Futa Livestream Slip Up 2: Part Two of a Futa-on-Female Erotic Short Series by Winter Whereof_ and _Under an Amorous Spotlight_ ) If my suspicions are correct, I would actually prefer that tone ( medium rare burn - warm red center ) in _Dungeons and Dalliances_ which would give Natalie a squire, Jordan more headaches, Liz / Sofia more fuel for their fetishes and Ana lots of opportunities to probe coitus, and coitus adjacent activities, from the view of the third gender PEERS My standard response is "ask advice of a fellow, web serial, authors you ( trust / respect / can discuss spoiler details / can discuss business details / can discuss prior attempts at similar arcs )" since so much depends on things you cannot discuss with readers, and especially readers that are also not web, serial authors Sleyca recently caved and asked Selkie, and another web serial author, advice about her Patreon and a single week of dialogue was more useful than 8 months of fans debating it in the comment section BRAINSTORMING SHAPESHIFTER D&D also offers more possibilities with shapeshifters, and monster boys, through the capture core mechanics, keeping human males far from any POV pussies GENRE Typical readers of D&D, and Ascent, are looking for a particular harem dynamic different from other harem sub genres ( Embarrassed Naked Female, Flipped Gender Roles in Society, Chosen Male, Last Male, etc. ) Which heavy deemphasizes males, replacing them with Futa BUSINESS Ascent has some interesting possibilities ( we will skip over the first three ideas that come to mind ) WITHOUT introducing a gender bent male to the party Especially Zoey's business dealings were customers come seeking solutions DETACHABLE Maybe a story line were Zoey loses her cock, in a Shard( 🎶King Missile’s “Detachable Penis"🎶), and the rest of the party loses their pussies and have to creatively recharge Zoey ( "We have working hands and tongues" Spider Robinsons's rebuttal to "Man of Steel, Women of Kleenex" by Larry Niven ) Later marketing a "detachable penis" potion, and a "detachable vagina" potion, to couples along with the cock growing potion ( so many pandemic videos of Suction cup dildo + woman + man. I am torn. It could be great or it could go very badly. It really depends on how you handle it. And, no offense, but I am not certain you would handle it well. But it is your call.

I could go either way honestly. You've done an incredible job with how you've woven everything together within the story. Probably doesn't help you make a decision lol, but I trust you to do whatever makes the most sense.

Just gender bender (as i dude turns into girl, hillarity ensues) i always find incredibly reductive of real life gender issues. On the other hand, using it to explore gender can be very good and strong story-telling. So i'd love to see that here, but i doubt Ascent is gonna turn into an egg-fic any time soon.

Its something I'd be interested in from a story/world-building perspective, but I have less than zero interest in seeing explicit scenes between the existing characters and a gender bent male. There's ways it could be done I'd be alright with, but I wouldn't want to tell you how to write your story, and it's not being written for me personally. At the end of the day, I'm going to vote strongly against, because for me personally, I don't think it match my preferences.

Lots of interesting dynamics here. on one hand it might take away from the overall harem story to have a male character engaging in major actions like a full shard dive with traps and crazy stuff, only to not really be part of the group at all after. Not really sure how it would fit into the story as there really aren’t any established characters to choose here. You’ve carved such a great niche with both of your stories. I’m not sure it’s needed to throw kinks in to the detriment of the story as a whole. and I think there’s so much hijinks on the table with available characters. Lucinda and Rosalie’s sisters come to mind. I think it’s extremely hot and would be worth a non-cannon short story or maybe a short story about a team of delvers we’ve never met finding one of the corrupted shards, the one with the clone or something. I wouldn’t sacrifice the story if it doesn’t fit, but you do what you feel is best.

If they aren’t trans, I would feel a little weird about the arc, because Zoey doesn’t seem to have any interest in men that we’ve seen. That said, it could be a great vehicle to realize that they are actually way more into being a girl than a guy and I would love to read that arc.

Depends. If it’s a Cis male, I don’t think so, for multiple reasons. If it’s used as a vehicle for trans stuff—them realizing that they are, already know that they are but are validated by the experience, discussing trans issues more generally, etc.—then fuck ya, go for it.

It's really impossible for me to just vote as it depends on details not included above. I'd find it hot if it let said character realize previously repressed feelings, i.e. trans stuff or more ambiguous gender fluidity, and some opening up about that preceded any sexy times. Or if it's a temporary change and at the end they go back and aren't either disgusted or yearning for another divine ride. Too much pushing into it or 'banged into liking it', even the softer 'I can tell she secretly likes it and needs an excuse' sort that's common in this kind of story, would make me feel pretty icky about the people doing the pushing.

My only request with this would be a personal one. Please stay away from the Sissy subgenre. Not that I have a problem with it or that it will chase me away or anything, just that it feels WAY overdone in the last three years or so. I'm looking more for novelty. Maybe include a species change that doesn't stray too heavily into Furry territory...
