“Talk,” Natalie said. “About what?”

“Sammy.”

Natalie tilted her head. Her thoughts had visibly cleared up, focusing on Jordan’s face, now, instead of her boobs, but still, she wasn’t wholly zoned in, with her hands groping away at Jordan’s butt. For that matter, Jordan was the slightest bit distracted herself. It was hard to be groped by her best-friend, her recently-realized crush, and take it wholly in stride. She liked to think she was good at controlling herself, both outwardly and inwardly, but she wasn’t made of stone.

“What about her?” Natalie asked.

“How your date went.”

“Good, I guess?”

She seemed uncomfortable talking about it. She hadn’t ever had problems detailing her exploits to Jordan, so it was another indicator that recent changes had shifted how Natalie viewed their relationship. Did she think Jordan would be jealous? She wasn’t. That wasn’t how she viewed romance. The idea of Natalie hooking up with other girls didn’t bother her in the slightest.

Even if she and Natalie became official, which was a highly, highly prospective hope, then Jordan still wouldn’t mind. Natalie, on the other hand, would, she suspected. She was a bit possessive. Jordan didn’t count that as a good trait, but it also wasn’t something that was a deal breaker. She wouldn’t mind if Natalie acted possessive of her, even. Show just how much Jordan was hers, and no one else’s.

It was better if she didn’t let her thoughts stray too far down that path. It was a long ways off, and dangerous to flirt with, as if it might someday be reality.

“And how good is ‘good’?” Jordan asked.

“We had fun.” She cleared her throat. “What do you mean?”

“What did you two do?” she asked patiently. Natalie wasn’t making this easy.

“We … uh … ?”

“Did you fuck?”

Natalie actually blushed, which bordered on hilarious. They’d talked about this sort of thing before, so it wasn’t new ground they were treading. Though, perhaps, Jordan had never quite taken an interrogatory tone like she had now. But she had to. While she wasn’t jealous, navigating this whole mess was hard for her, seeing how her heart was on the line. She had to put up a mask for her own sake as much as Natalie’s. So, an interrogation.

“I—I feel like that was implied,” Natalie said, face red. Her hands groped away steadily, though with an idle cadence, now. Her attention was on Jordan.

Maybe that was bad for energy-gathering purposes, but Jordan needed this moment for her own goals.

“But what, specifically?” Jordan asked. “Did you two …?” She made a crude gesture, sticking her pointer finger into a hole made from her other hand. Then, explaining herself, “I’m sorting out something for your class.” It wasn’t wholly a lie.

“Sorting out what?”

“Strategy. Answer the question.” She rolled her eyes. “Seriously. We’ve talked about stuff like this before. Why is it a big deal, now?”

Natalie paused.

“Any day, Nat,” Jordan said, not giving her a moment to consider the question. Again, the goal wasn’t to force her into any realizations. She had a suspicion it wouldn’t go well.

“Just, um. Our mouths and fingers. She … blew me.” Natalie flushed. “But we didn’t, you know.”

“I see,” Jordan said.

She grabbed Natalie’s hands, then moved them to the third point of interest. They were testing how her Harvest skill worked—whether covering as many points as possible got her more energy. Still, for obvious reasons, being groped between her legs, even over clothing, was the most compromising area for both of them. Jordan’s heart galloped in her chest, feeling her best friend’s hand pressing into her pussy. Still, she stayed composed. She had a goal.

“Did you do a good job?” Jordan asked.

Natalie took a second to rally her thoughts, face burning as she caressed between Jordan’s legs. Jordan couldn’t help a few inappropriate noises escaping the deepest parts of her throat, but the two of them ignored it. Overtly, at least. Neither could actually ignore it.

“A good job?” Natalie finally asked. “Uh. I hope so?”

“Your reputation matters,” Jordan said sternly. “Your class wants you to have lots of partners. As many as possible. So, you need to get a reputation as someone good in bed. And, let’s be honest, that things of yours is going to be a selling point to some. So it’s especially important you’re good with it.”

“Yeah?” Natalie was clearly on the back-foot, not prepared for this conversation.

“And I don’t know if Sammy’s a talker, but if she is, then it’s important you impressed her. So she says good things.”

“I … guess? She’s not a talker, anyway.”

Though, she didn’t sound wholly confident in that.

“Doesn’t matter,” Jordan said. “It’s the point I’m trying to make.”

“Sure.”

“Which is why,” Jordan emphasized, “the two of us shouldn’t only keep to what your harvest skill maxes on. You need practice.”

A silence.

Jordan continued, “You’re good with your fingers and mouth, but there’s something you aren’t skilled with, yet. Something you’re several years behind on. Plus, you need practice with endurance. Those things are sensitive, right? Hard to last with?”

Natalie’s hand froze between Jordan’s legs, no longer stroking away. She’d pieced together what Jordan was saying. Maybe Jordan was going too far, but she couldn’t stop now. Might as well spell it out in detail. Plus, she really did believe in the practical nature behind the idea.

“So,” Jordan said. “It’s time I start training you. Get that cock of yours used to being played with. You can’t earn a reputation as a quickshot, can you?” Taking a breath in, she spurred Natalie’s hand back to motion between her legs, acting like what she was saying was totally mundane—the obvious extension of their efforts over the past week. “And keep stroking. We’re testing your skill, aren’t we?”

that's some good dirty talk.

If we're talking about building reputation, that might also mean investing some lust energy to upgrade "heavy weapon" sooner than Nat was anticipating. Of course having an impressive weapon won't mean anything if Nat doesn't know how to wield it properly, but right now it's only slightly above average. Perhaps good for practice and sparing, but I'm assuming she'll want to eventually graduate from an arming sword to a longsword/broadsword and, eventually, a zwiehander.

So, here is a thought: On RR, there was a comment about whether or not Nat gets "solid" illusions. Personally, I really hope that won't happen. In my opinion. Illusions should be something that affect the mind, without any actual physical effects. And once the become "solid" or "real" illusions, they just become an excuse to let the character cast whatever magic they can think of, instead of using Illusions to trick, manipulate, and outmaneuver. What I think the progression with her Illusion skill should roughly be, is something like this: visual, audible, smells and taste, tactile (illusions of touch), pure pain/pleasure, emotions, and finally meta Illusions. Honestly, even if the Illusions can't actually be touched, just illusions of touch would be a whole lot of fun to mess around with. It would be the first type of Illusion she could get away with using her Skill the "intended" way in combat without embarrassing herself too much. I have a hard time imagining that anyone can fight properly while getting an illusory ass-pounding XD Of course, the same goes for pure Pain/Pleasure. Especially Pleasure! Making someone feel like they have the orgasm of their life in the middle of a fight is bound to be incredibly distracting XD Emotional Illusions, on the other hand, would be useful in different ways. Both for subtle manipulation, and for aggressive Aggro pulling. Finallly, Meta Illusions are things like making someone feel like certain magic is being cast, changing someones perception of their Mana-pool and Hit-points, or even making them see certain System messages. But, in general, I really hope that Nat grows into the more manipulative ways that Illusions can be used, even if it doesn't exactly fit her blunt character. (There are far too few MC's using Illusion magic) There are just so many things she could do, even at her current level, especially when combined with her need for gestures when casting. Things like, acting like she is throwing her hammer at an oponent, and then also making it look like it while hiding the fact that she still has it in her hand. Or, actually throw her hammer at a target in the backrow, but before the target can dodge, use illusions to make the hammer curve to a different target. Or simply throwing out fake Skill attacks. Illusions are also especially effective if they only get gradually revealed over the course of a fight. At first, she would have to try and completely hide the fact that she can use Illusions, revealing it only once she can use them to get an effective strike in. Then, use them to throw out fake Skills to confuse the enemy. Then, let them "realize" that these Illusions can't harm them, making them not dodge the next Illusionary attack, only to add in tactile and pain illusions. There are simply so many fun little mental games Nat could play with Illusions, especially if, after a certain point, she stops freely revealing the full extent of her capabilities, treating them as the type of trumpcards no one knows about because everyone who finds out is dead.

Another thing I was thinking about is that, in my opinion, Nat should try to get her Harvest Skill to the next Progression as quickly as possible, investing every bit of Energy she has. The thing is, right now, Nat is incredibly strong. Lets take that first Spar with Liz, Camille, and Ellios(?) as an example, and think about the fact that Nat absolutely obliterated her oponents. Sure, it didn't look like it, but think about this: The main problem was her getting snared, which is not a matter of being bad, but simply not having had any mage on a similar level of competency to spar with, with her, Sofia, and Jordan all being physical fighters. Add to that the fact that Nat didn't have a single Skill that was even marginally useful for combat, while all the others I would assume to have three such Skills at minimum. If you look at it from a different perspective, Liz's buff could be counted as 1 Skill, the heal can be counted as 1 Skill, and the fact that, at least for a while, Liz distracted Camille could be considered worth 3 Skills. In that scenario, you could say that Nat won pretty dominantly in a 2 on 1 scenario. And that is when she doesn't even have her Illusion Skill integrated into her combat style, which will make her significantly more effective. So, she currently, and probably in the near future, is in no need to get stronger. She can get stronger the same way everyone else does, through training and leveling, and shouzldn't have many problems keeping up. (Especially if they get an extra Skill every level, which basically doubles the number of combat applicable Skills in Nat's case) In this case, rushing to Progress with her Harvest Skill seems like the best option, since that is the best longterm choice, and she currently isn't under any pressure to get stronger in the short term. Rather, she should try to keep up as long as she can without Progressing her Skills to get a look at how good her Skills baseforms are in comparison to what others have.

Sorry for these walls of text, but I just binged the story and these ideas just kind of accumulated. So, here is a third thought I had. Just a small Idea for a Class for the perfect underdog character at Tenet. Basically, what you could call an "Equipment user". They get an increased number of equipment Slots in exchange for lower Stats. Their Skills would then look somewhat like this: An Inventory Skill only for Equipment A Skill that lets them instantly change the Equipment they wear with stuff from their Inventory A Skill that Increases the Buff effects received from Equipment they wear You know, stuff like that, that would make them "reliant on equipment" With how Tenet forbids the use of equipment outside of delves, it would create the perfect situation where the Character looks super weak in Class, but absolutely dominates in Delves, probably triggering Tenets Cheater alarms.

I appologise, but it appears that I'm still not out of ideas. This time, for a Skill that Nat could get at some point. Now, [Weakspot detection] would be kind of a classic for this kind of Class, but not quite so fitting for a Paladin of all things. So, my idea is this XD [The bigger the better!] "Increases the effectiveness of your weapons proportional to how much bigger than average they are." To go on a small tangent, I never understand why almost no stories feature "oversized" weapons... Sure, no normal human can wield a human sized, 100kg greatsword. But basically all LitRPG's do NOT feature "normal" humans, but people who definitely have the strength to wield weapons of such size and weight. Humans who can also more or less easily gain the Skills necessary to have the footing and counter weight to wield such weapons without getting dragged around by them. But most of all, they almost always feature GIANT MONSTERS to which a knights longsword is barely a toothpick, and a rogues daggers not even a splinter. So, yes, I'm absolutely pro Giant weapons, and would not at all mind if Nat were to use a hammer as tall as herself with a head the size of, well, a head. (the human kind)

Illusions: Definitely for the short term, the focus is going to be using them in the traditional way, distractions & feints. Physical illusions probably won't happen in the long term, either, but maybeee. That'd be a long ways away, though. And when it comes to lewd applications, I might fudge the details and give the illusions some weight, because it could lead to some fun scenes. Harvest Skill: There's certainly an argument to be made. Let me parry with the idea that the stronger her other skills are, the more she can do (and the safer she is) in the dungeon, the better her reputation at Tenet is, the faster she levels (the normal way), etc, etc. And from a more meta perspective ... ignoring the other skills would drive some readers insane! So I don't think I'll be having Natalie pour every point into harvest. Liz: I've gotten similar comments, so I think I miswrote this scene. I tried to emphasize that Natalie's insane dominance was -because- of Liz's boost skill. While Liz wasn't much direct help in a fight, she amped Natalie up to a gross level, letting her mop the floor with Ellis and handle Cam at the same time. Natalie -is- an above average Tenet candidate, but she's not heads and shoulders better--not so new to her class and skills. Equipment User: Definitely a fun character idea! I might work it in ... ? Depends if I find a situation for it :P [Bigger is Better]: I'm in love with this idea. I did puzzle over what weapon style I wanted Natalie to commit to, and this gives such a lovely theme & reason for it. Plus, I can have it doubling up ... that [Heavy Weaponry] has bonuses associated to it in both practical and lewd ways :P Definitely stealing this. Thanks for the brainstorming!

For the Harvest Skill, it doesn't necessarily have to be ALL points ALL the time. It just feels like a waste because "fondling" doesn't feel like a stopping point. Either they kiss and leave it there. But with the type of story this is, it seems unlikely that they will go past kissing and then stop at fondling, but go at least all the way to BJ levels. And then, its allways going to feel like she doesn't get points she could get. Also, did you actually think that that wasn't exactly what my goal was with [Bigger is better?] XD
