TLDR - How to adjust the VR view to a realistic angle (worth the read)

I wanted to chat to you guys about about the power of the Tilt setting in programs like Whirligig As i'm sure there will be a lot of you, if not most, who wont know about this and how it can enhance your VR experience. So you can watch them in a more realistic setting or a comfort style setting.

Lets take our recent Widow animation, When you watch the VR video, this picture is what you see with your head straight on, you aren't looking down like you would in real life, you are look straight ahead without the need to look down. This is so you can enjoy the video without looking straight down causing your neck to hurt and those with neck problems / injury's can enjoy the view. But this is VR! You might want a realistic immersive view? So the floor is  where the the floor should be and everything isn't on the wall. Ok no problem! You can actually do this with all our videos here is how you can!

I'm going to demo the settings and explain them using Whirligig which i think is the best Free app (free on there site costs a few dollars on steam)

In the picture above i have circled the tilt setting normally this video would be like most in a comfy view to start with, but i've adjusted the til from 0 tO 50(ish) this has now tilted the video down to a more realistic angle. So the Video below starts off in the head facing forward relaxed then like you would in real life you can look down to where mercy would really be for that realistic immersive  view.

With 50 tilt

Ok so now if we take that off you will have your comfy view, so its not realistic positioning but your neck wont be hurting and you can relax and view the media straight ahead. This is the view you normally see with a lot of videos. I'm looking straight ahead here  with zero on the default view.

I wanted to share that with you guys as you can have the best of both realistic when you feel like it or comfy viewing and relaxing!

Enjoy! on an yes this upcoming mercy has a cumshot too!

This wouldn't work for me since I have gear VR right?

Hentai VR

a lot of software comes with tilt feature so im sure it can be done on any if not all devices

TheGrouch

Works with DeoVR as well. Has a ton of features from zooming to tilting or moving sideways.

Alex Rimmer

Littlstar added camera tilt for us PS4 users in a recent update.

Do people actually watch VR videos without adjusting the position for realism? Seems kinda counter-intuitive. Also will recommend Whirligig strongly, it's one of the best VR video players and has the most intuitive controls, BUT if you want more control on how your view is set I suggest using DeoVR. A lot of VR videos aren't very level to the ground, and simply adjusting the tilt is not enough (you can adjust the rotation in Whirligig as well, and while it does help it's very cumbersome and moves the center of the video). This is where DeoVR comes in. The UI isn't as good as Whirligig (which keeps it from being my main program), but the adjustments for the video are 2nd to none.

What mercy vid is that?

Thanks for the PSA. Unfortunately, even with tilt and zoom, I've been having trouble getting some videos to "line up" so to speak. It feels like the "player" model is much larger than I am. is there some other option that can adjust for this?

Hentai VR

depends on the animation thats a fault of mine sometimes the models are not human size and in VR it shows. Normally now i use some calculations and techniques i invented to adjust it but i didn't discover this till later down the road since there are no guide to correct that just had to learn over time. so some of the older videos while most are human size you will get the odd one

Also SkyboxVR on GearVR, just press and hold a button on the controller, then point and drag the screen where you want it to be.
