How has my writing changed (Patreon)

Attached to this post is a Taste of Indonesia, written by me (as Betamax17) in 2018 and a Taste of Indonesia written by me (as Neoidentity) in 2024. You can download them both and compare.

Below is my ideas about how my writing has changed:

• Less tell and more show.
• More varied use of language.
• Better build up.
• Much more ‘physical’ and sensory in terms of descriptions.
• Generally longer (not always a good thing).
• AI photos are not as good

Overall I do think I have got a lot better as a writer but I also think there is a lot to learn from my older self.

I wish I still had access to the stuff I wrote before Betamax17 (under the name Write4Luv), as I’d love to see what my writing was like back in around 2011.
