Hey Primos!

Welcome back to Ep5 of In The Soop! It's been awhile since we last watched the guys relax in the forest. We were so ready to jump back in where we left off, and we even grabbed some authentic Korean snacks. Delish!

The guys are back! The food is back! And so are the laughs. Today the guys return to the forest after a busy schedule. And we just can't get over the prep work the guys put in to their meals. Good episode today!

Hope you enjoy the return of In The Soop!

chimm

uncle baby billy

I love the eating, i always have a snack when i watch these with you guys!

Danie Vasquez

I tried hotteok when I was in SK w/ ice cream! Yummm. Also in a cup but they gave u like a spork 😂

chimm

good thing I'm eating snacks while watching this 🤣

A.A

Loved the initial muckbang :)

Amanda P

The green tangerine chilsung is so good!! I bought so many bottles when I was in LA 😆

Chloe

Really?? I tried the Lemon one and didnt like it 😕😕 I should probably try green tangerine

hanji

yummm i wanna try

HalSonyeondan

That wasn’t V in the beginning

dannisa

yeay 🥳🥳 I want to try chilsung too 🥲 but I can't find it in my city...

hanji

petition for a full ccw mukbang

Lizzie

"How do you play catch?" is actually one of the saddest questions Joon has ever asked. 🥲

Gracey Freeman

Yesssss you look so fresh and so clean ahahaha.

Ivy Lee

The Blue and Gray song by V (cowritten and coproduced by him) featured here in ITS was the original and all english version for V’s mixtape. And V was singing it in English in the canoe as compared to the OT7 version. It became an OT7 song when the group heard it and liked it and decided to put it in the BE tracklist. Here’s the original lyrics (V’s version as teased at ITS). Where's my angel? I'm sick and tired of everything Someone come and save myself Cause I can't take it anymore Everywhere I go, everywhere I see Can you look at me and say I'm looking free Every time I cry every time I smile Can you look at me 'cause I'm blue and grey? Every time I cry every time I smile Can you look at me 'cause I'm blue and grey? I just wanna be happier Baby don't let me go I feel tired in the winter sky Wish I could be stronger

Namu

Did gabriel just finish that?

JengHoseok

Gimbap is like the korean sushi roll.

Ivy Lee

First time I drank Chilsung was when I attended the PTD concert in LA. There was a 7-11 infront of the SOFI gate. It was the only convenience store near it and they were selling Korean food and merch. We were guessing that the franchise owner might be Korean. We went in and there was a long line. I saw people with Chilsung in their baskets. I grabbed some and they were refreshing. Esp the flavored ones. I was watching VMINKOOK’s live stream at that time ( yes the one where V dropped name brands, it was done after their concert). That’s how long we were waiting in line because the concert was done and vminkook was already in their hotel livestreaming in weverse. I wish we had Chilsung at an HMART here. i loved it 😍

Lizzie

This episode was our first intro to Blue & Grey and boy howdy were we going insane for it. I do believe at this time it was either still just his song or he still had his version of it on his phone and stuff. His lyrics were all in english which is different from the completed song.

grace!!🍀

for one,i’m obsessed with abby’s bracelets! so cute. also so jealous you guys got to try hotteok, since it’s apparently super good i’ve definitely got to try it soon…i don’t know how i feel about “carbonated water” though😭

Minnie Me

Gimbap is like sushi, but it's usually rice, pickled radish, carrots, eggs and beef rolled in a dried seaweed. Gim - dried seaweed, Bap- rice.

akaV⁷✌🏼⊙⊝⊜

Finallyyyyy, snacking on Korean food while watching Korean content 😋 Fresh made hotteok while walking on a cool/cold day is the best. Idk how cold it gets in Texas but I really hope you get a chance to go to SK one day and experience what you're watching for yourselves! FYI, the director of Snowpiercer Bong Joon Ho, also directed Parasite. And the actor Song Kang Ho who played the disheveled, older man at the back of the train, played the dad of the poor family in Parasite. #themoreyouknow 😉

Amanda P

Yeah it's still the muted flavor like the others since their sodas aren't as crazy sweet as usa's is but I still really like it!

Kearyce Moore

I always see chilsung at mom's organic and forget to buy it everytime I see it 😂😂😂

MLS

Thank you!

Annmarie

Good idea with the snacks, I always need a snack watching this show! Love this episode so much!!! & hearing Tae’s demo version of Blue & Grey with this scene is always so beautiful!

APOBANGPO7

I can watch you watch bts content all day guys, that’s so entertaining! 💜

Any

So as we can see, every content of them is eating, playin and eating more. and we love to see it 💜

Anne

It was the staff who said to turn off the car (commenting while watching ☺️)

Ashlee

Omg you guys got to try Chilsung cider and Hotteok!! So yummyyyyy 🔥 Loved this reaction its always a nice boost for the middle of the week ♡

Dreamer

Abi just did a JK and V! She spit and wiped her hand on Gabe! BTS is rubbing on you guys! lol

D

Jungkook, like everything he does, filleted and skinned the fish so well on his first try! Here you can see Jin instilling interest in cooking in Jungkook. Also I had forgotten VMin's Young Forever karaoke was here, it's iconic. 😄 @CCW, all In the Soop are in SK, because the show was a replacement of Bon Voyage during pandemic (2020 and 2021). If we get a reality show in 2025, it will be Bon Voyage. But now that the producers know that ITS is a success, they may bring the flavour of restful travel, like they did in Are You Sure. How to do this with seven of them, we'll have to wait and find out.

D

Same 🥲

Elmo

LOL! The whole time I was watching Gabriel scarf his down and was thinking, hmmm, must not be that sweet if Gabriel of all, is enjoying it so heartily. Sometimes we just need to indulge!

Randi

oh man i sooooooo want to have some hotteok. i'll have to find some locally

Thea

It always amazes me when they eat meat/food straight off the grill and it’s still scorching hot 😂 also, I think it’s so cute how hobi is like a parent sometimes, like it comes out of him when he’s telling jimin not to start anything he won’t clean up, when he’s telling JK to wake up, and then when he shows up in the kitchen while they’re cooking and just automatically starts cleaning all their messes (even though he’s also just a clean and neat person in general lol)

Moth Honey

lol, I love it when y'all call out a habit that Gabriel also has and he just has to sit there being exposed, it's hilarious. As always, it's very relaxing reexperiencing this content with you guys <3

eli

Thank youu

el from space

it's a very korean thing, they eat food really hot! i saw a girl once say that when she went back home, even soup seemed too cold because she got used to it.

el from space

love from brasil! i love in the soop so much, it's so comforting. i hope you guys also find some comfort in the chill vibe!

Shreya

chilsung - has several flavours like peach, green apple etc etc what'd you guys get ?? also NOW you should def watch bts chilsung advertisements they are soooo funny

saira

I love seeing you guys eat!! Made me really crave hotteok tho 😭😭😭

mar

ohh i love watching you try korean food!! the hotteok looks so good!

Maeee

They're playing League of Legends. I think the mini game version

Ghala Lan

Yall gonna be sooooo surprised of the prep in season 2 it shoked meeeee , im so exited to see u guys watch that and get shocked as i was 😭

Anna Dobrowolska

I think what Suga's attaching to his laptop is a microphone, not a webcam

Elli_TheWhalien3791

There is so much korean food I want to try 💜 because of BTS I discovered korean noodles… and now I have developed a craving for them - thanks lads 😭💜

Lisa M T

They always make me so hungry.

Mimi

I was in korea this july and i tried everything i could possibly that BTS and k-drama has shown me. Cold noodle is so common during the summer time too and i enjoyed it.

minicookieot7

Do y’all feel like you’re getting faster with reading the subtitles? It’s a skill you gain when you become ARMY 😆 (if you weren’t good at it before)

BZ

I swear you all are hilarious lol!! I enjoyed the commentary during the reaction so much! Daniel saying "My body will heat it up !!" lol while eating the room temp hotteok...

Sar

The cold noodles (naengmyeon) is a north korean dish and very refreshing over the summer. I was shocked when i first heard about it 😭 but it’s more like a few ingredients and a paste on top instead of a sauce, so it’s not weird to eat cold. At restaurants they’ll even put a slushee type ice in it to make it more refreshing. I definitely recommend, there’s different kinds of naengmyeon!! 💜

Merryn4

🤣 Words of comfort from me to Abigail 🤔 since the boys don't plan on going easy with the slurping anytime soon. 1) If you can't stop them, join them! Even better, bring a bowl of noodles for the next episode and see who can slurp the loudest. 2) I don't know about the other parts of Asia, but in Korea, a loud slurp is a compliment to the chef and a sign of an excellent meal. Same goes for the burp. The louder, the bigger the appreciation of your culinary skills and service. (Pretty sure that wasn't helpful at all...) Cultural awareness is always a good thing, though. Trust me, I can practically see your stress from the other side of the screen, but if we're gonna love these guys, we might as well love everything else that comes with them! Bon appetit. 💜

justsarah

WE GOT CHILSUNGGGG CIDER!!!!

Rae Avilez

Kimbap should be next on the menu! I needed this today! It's been a rough one. Gabriel I pack a plushie so I get it lol

DanielleM

I want that version too so bad!!!

jin's dangly earring

this was sucha good episodeeee i got so excited seeing yall with hotteok and chilsung at the beginning also i love seeing yall repeat the korean you're able to pick up with your ears, I've been seeing summer & daniel do it several times now over some episodes too! it's so fun getting familiar with a new language~ random tidbit: -bangtan made this joke already in another episode earlier in the series, but one of them was asking for some plastic "wrap" and the others made a pun by starting to "rap" like "yo!!!" "check it!!!" and saying "rrrrrrap monster!!!" P.S. especially during warmer weather, yall haaaaave to try mul naengmyun (the cold noodles with broth). it's so incredibly refreshing! for me, really yummy naengmyun has a delicious cold broth that's flavorful with some tang. it'll typically (based on spots i've tried before) comes with a bottle of vinegar and another bottle of mustard on the side for you to season your bowl with. i can't stop raving about it lolol there's also a "dry" version called bibim naengmyun, where instead of broth, it'll come with a sweet, tangy, spicy sauce that you mix all together. OH important PSA for first-time naengmyun eaters--the noodles they usually use are VERY chewy. this is normal, but pls chew it well bc if you swallow too fast it can get unconfortable ^^;; restaurants will typically bring you a pair of scissors to cut your noodles up for that reason

Ceriele Park

I love that you guys are trying the foods and drinks that the guys really like :D You guys can try some new drinks and food during your reactions if you want, would love to see your opinions on them as your openings are always fun to watch >v< Thanks to them my fav Korean food is Naengmyeon (cold noodles) well not the spicy one. My spice tolerance is like Tae's and Hobi's 😂 Also, Jin and Jimin have their own restaurant/cafe in Jimin's case run by his parents.

jackncereal

Lol idk if y'all realized but when J-Hope was showing RM his finished legos, they were singing dream glow

Miannika

Abigail, the guy who was giving them instructions about the gps seemed like one of their staff/managers

민

1:09:42 jimin and tae rap part reminds me of [2020 FESTA] BTS (방탄소년단) 'MAP OF THE SONG : 7' ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Seneca

Accurate haha. There's another army reactor channel I watch and they're speed readers, so it's actually pretty cool bc it honestly seems like they're fluent in Korean the way they react to content in real time lool

Catie C

Love the mukbang in the beginning, you should do more

Alice Smith

Does Summer not know what kimbop is...saying it looked like a sushi roll..

PrettyJumpTree

Jeotgal is seasoned seafood. Its raw seafood seasoned with a red pepper paste mixture. Jeotgal is sweet and spicy. It's usually served as a banchan (small side dish) and so good with rice.

raeven b.

You found some Chilsung omg! I'm so curious to try it!

minicookieot7

Gimbap is kinda similar to sushi, but gimbap = Korean and made with cooked ingredients and Sushi = Japanese and traditionally has raw ingredients.

메리입니다

Im so excited whenever you post about in the soop and run bts i cant wait for you all to watch it and for me to watch you react, my heart got so badump badump everytime, i love you guyssssssss borahaeeeeeeeee

Army Of Noonas

After watching this season of In The Soop, I became hooked to having Chilsung Cider. Over in SK, when they order food, they just mention Cider, this drink will be served. Now, I just order it online whenever I feel a craving for it. As for hotteok, when I first had it, it was in the middle of winter, and it was served piping hot. But it was sooooo good! Love the crunchiness of the nuts and the softness of the pancake. Of course the sweetness as well. I love the idea that you look up the names of the food whenever you see the members eating their Korean food. Keep doing that cos it's all about learning their culture and food.

Alwena Willis

They are learning about Korean culture and food as they go along. Gimbap actually does look like a sushi roll if not cut up, it is made very similar to sushi!

akaV⁷✌🏼⊙⊝⊜

In SK, you can rent portable/pocket wifi and it's a small device they call an "egg" lol I have rented one from SK Telecom in the past, and had to remember to charge it every night for the next day. I think they're still available but these days, we have esims.

Alwena Willis

When other kids were playing catch, he was writing poetry and winning awards for it. His love of poetry is seen in his lyrics. Some of my favourite poems are Korean my favourite being ‘My Heart’ by Kim Dongmyeong (1937).

Alwena Willis

We have many Korean supermarkets here in Perth as well as restaurants and Dessert cafes so we are a little spoilt. We can get most things here. I ate so much delicious food in my 6 weeks in Korea differing in various parts of Korea, all amazing. Next episode is amazing. J Hopes Hope plane is hung in the ‘In the Soop 2 ‘ house and I had the pleasure of standing underneath and looking up at it, as well as some of their artwork and sitting where they sat! If you go to Korea do the ‘In the Soop’ excursion, it is well worth it.

APOBANGPO7

Oh I hope it will be a combination of ITS and BV! I can’t wait to watch them chilling together and having military talks etc 🥹

annisaefendi nisa

The best way to not starving when watch they're eating is having our own food too 🤣 that's what i do. Nice to see you have your food too 😍❤️

khawana

Lov u guysssss

LoriG

Loved watching with y’all! 💜

Daniela Schrul

It's Dakgalbi and Bibimmyeon. They cooked it in Jinny’s Kitchen Season 2 as well.

Daniela Schrul

I read eating cold noodles is a way to Cool down during the summer heat in Korea.

Lindy

Jin and jimin chase each other and laughing is the most healing thing

Lauren Miatke

Yeah they are, it's called Team fight tactics or TFT 💜

Anny_ lokah

I wanted to eat Suga's food

TheEmpurpler⁷

I absolutely LOVE that y'all got yourself some 호떡 (hotteok) & 칠성 (chilsung)! LOVE seeing y'all embracing & learning about Korean food & culture.

TheEmpurpler⁷

In Korea, it's really common for people to SQUAT - people squat anywhere! P.S. it is also common for Koreans to sit on the floor (even when there is a couch, people often sit on the floor lol)

Bint-e-hawa

Hobi sitting like that is pure asian thing we all can sit like that easily 😂
