Welcome back to another reaction! Today we are watching Beyond The Star, Ep 6. Begin and Again. Last episode was really really really good and we are excited about this one. All of them actually! We got some more behind the scenes from PTD and the guys enjoying some downtimes. All so different but so them. But the future of performances was still up in the air. Excited for this episode so let's hop in.

We hate to see this episode end. The energy here is really showing how the next chapter becomes a lot about individuality as the guys inch their way closer to enlisting. Loving the insight each episodes bring. Well that's it, thanks for watching.

Covid situation is diff everywhere even in provinces, cities, in one country. In my country even till today we still wear mask but its not madatory, more of a choice. In 2020-2022 if u are not vaccinated, u can't enter establishments or go to work. It was mandatory. Idk if it was for other countries. Our transportations (at least in my province) have plastic deviders to make sure it is one seat apart from each other. We even come to a point where we wear face shields. It was mandatory in my work. It was tough 😭 I am sure it was like that for most Asian countries. When u travel outside, there is no chance u can enter back to your country. I can't imagine how BTS would have felt at that time 💔 btw, I'm from the Philippines. How was your covid situation in your own country ?

I know I and many other Patreons have commented this before but please please react to the Amazon prime version of the Yet to come Busan concert. The audio and camera quality really wasn't good for the live version. Also the camera work did not do their choreo any favours. I really think BTS and everyone involved got to shine more in the Prime version. Some of the ments were shortened but there is an HD version of their ending ments on Youtube with Eng sub that I can send you a link for if you want it.

When you think about it, Jin has been away from the guys the longest (end of 2022-2025) so almost three years! No wonder he brings them up at every interview he does! It’s been such a long time since we’ve seen all seven of them together in one frame but the wait is almost over 🥲💜

To kind of answer your question Abby nothing was really said for a while before Festa 2022. Army didn't know what was going to happen, of course most Army knew that their enlistment was looming over their heads and it got worse because it also became a political topic. The members had never said they weren't going to serve. Yoongi says the line "we will serve in the military when it's time" in his D-2 mixtape. During Festa 2022 they revealed their plans about a chapter 2 but it wasn't until around the Busan concert the enlistment plans kind of started to reveal itself and still it wasn't until later the plan they had for their enlistment became clearer for Army but I'm sure they had already discussed it. In the behind the scenes of the Busan concert Tae starts talking about how they won't be able to perform in a while and he gets emotional and kind of stops talking about it. They renewed their contracts together so I think they had something planned. After hearing them talk during Suchwita about coming together and asking Army to trust them and stay by their side until 2025 (which unfortunately some didn't listen to that) we are all just patiently waiting.

I totally get what Abby and Summer said at the end of the episode, about the feeling it leaves you with after watching it 😅 Like... that’s exactly how I felt when it was all happening. That moment was super bittersweet for me because we had no idea how things were gonna go. They hadn’t said anything publicly about military service yet, but we all kinda knew it was coming… so yeah, there was this tension in the air 🥲 The ‘Yet to Come’ era is bittersweet, and I honestly can’t imagine how they went through all that without being able to say anything about their future plans 😖💔 Thanks CCW for the reaction 💜 Also, huge congrats on getting Jin’s concert tickets!! Not that they will not be going back together but...Maybe JK's statement is like saying that even tho they're on their solo work at that time if a team activity will be ask or coincide ( OT7 content/activity) he will put his solo on hold and do the group..something like that. They are all on the same page because they communicate a lot among themselves... If you paid attention RM said "I let the other members know my thoughts, and they told me their thoughts, we talked about how we want to live our thirties and our thoughts on what BTS should do"... The key is the communication and the respect... None of them never tried to silence or inhibit another, and this is something they developped since their beginning... I think the only moment they were doubtful is around 2017-2018 hence their emotionnal speech at MAMA 2018 and the release of Outro: Tear.. Also what really helped them is they never keep something buried inside them and express in a way or another, could be through a song, a live, a speech, an interview, which made their relationship sane and healthy.

The translator that was with suga is the female that was also with jin in Argentina. She was part of bts staff for a long time, but left after jin's enlistment if I remember correctly

Even 2023 in Namjoon’s live, Armys were telling him to rest and don't work himself too hard, and he was saying “I don't have a lot of time left.” Ahhh I’m so happy that’s in the past now! Before even they announced their break, there were a lot of rumors spreading about BTS disbanding and stuff. It was hard time for ARMY and BTS back then because of all these rumors going around. Even after their Festa 2022 there was news about their disbanding, Jungkook went live just to assure us and tell us that they were just taking a break and Namjoon wrote a letter about it on weverse too.

I've been thinking about that for months. Like Jin left in December 2022 so he's not been able to really see them and hear from them at his own terms, if that makes sense. Yes they have told us they talk a lot and write to each other in the group chat and they have met a couple of times but he's been "away" from the other 5 for almost 3 years by the time they're back. it's kind of crazy to think about. Imagine being away from the people you spent almost everyday with for about 13 years and all of a sudden you cant just meet up with them. That's why I was so happy to see him and Hobi together.

to be fair we have pictures of jimin and Hobi going to see Jin while he served, and Jimin mentioned they've visited and brought him food multiple times, (Jin even called Jimin while Jimin was filming a bangtan bomb), yoongi also said they'd see each other when Jin took time off bc they live 5 mins away from each other, and then we saw hobi and Jin at Yoongis concert while they were serving, and then we have pictures of Jin taking vacation and doing a group photo with them, and then Jimin and Jk both were training in the same 5th division as jin for over a month. They all make sure to see each other often no matter what, a true family

I'm truly ENJOYING rewatching this with y'all 💜 I guess it's time for the concert 'YET TO COME in Busan'!! I'm so excited 😆 I don't know when are you going to watch it, but make sure you do it before watching this next episode. Oh! another thing... you have to watch the one in Amazon Prime (Yet To Come in cinema)!! It's TOP TIER quality (audio and visually wise)! Also, before anyone tell you something about it (because i've seen some comments)... no there is no cuts or removed parts. The only change is they put the ending ment at the end because it was an emotional and impactful moment as Jin enlistement was announced a few days after and that was BTS last concert together before Jin announcement and the solo stuffs coming out. you'll not regret it!!

I am soooo conflicted for when you get to the Busan concert because the Amazon version is amazing quality and fun but the live version includes the full ments/speeches and angles that the Amazon version edited down or cut out aghhhhh

Live version missed so much more in terms of camera work and the angles for choreography & members' interactions. You can also watch the speeches separately on YT. There is no reason not to watch Amazon version, which has a superior quality in all aspects.

That's why I'm conflicted, bc the Amazon versions quality is top notch- I wish there was a version where it all was meshed together bc the live version had angles I loved as well that weren't included, but true, if they go with that then hopefully they have time to watch the full ments (even if its separately) like they were able to with the last concert bc the emotions were running high in those speeches and I don't want them to miss it!

What a lovely episode! They were all keen to express their own art, isn't that what we all feel some time in our career if we work in a team even though we enjoy what we do? @Daniel, Jin was actually scheduled to join the millitary in summer 2022 just after festa, but was requested to postpone it to winter, so that they can perform together at the Busan concert in October. Now you can relate the happy fishing in Feb/ March. @Abby, not once did they say they will not come back together. The press etc mentioned the word hiatus, which V and Suga pointed out ( can't say when,you'll see, spoiler). However, the unsaid is what the right kind of army should expect. It's not possible to be physically as fit in your 30s, once you get a taste of your own colour, you want to find out more, collaborate with others more, express your personal philosophy. BTS will not disband but don't expect Chapter 3 to be Chapter 1. Much as I appreciated Mono in 2020 (when I heard), I appreciated RPWP more in 2024. He grew up and so have I, and I will want them to remain varied, dynamic and relevant.

tbh the reason they felt that tension and inturn we felt it in this ep is because its scary how people would react to their decision to take solo time cause even in other kpop groups the group would continue to do albums without the memebrs who enlisted and bts is taking a different route so they were worried how the reaction to that would be and also the busan concert was not a planned thing for them when they started to plan their solo activities so i think the reason jk said that was maybe even during their solo time if there comes a schedule where all 7 have to do it he would come back to bts(thats what they did for busan concert jin even postponed his military for it and enlisted during winter which he hates) and thats how they really are , hobi said it best ''tbh when asked whats the msg your gonna want to give as bts and the members didnt have an answer to that at that time'' and thats why focusing on individual activities was best at that time

tbh we should also think they might have had doubts and their own insecurities like as a member they want to come back but in their mind they might have doubts like what if some other member might not wanna come back ofcourse its hard for them to think that since they are very close but seeing how tensed they were during the 2022 yr the thought might have crossed some members minds about what should i do if some other member doesnt want to come back and its a scary thought

yeah i think they should definetely watch all the individual last vlives the bts members did before they went to military cause it gives so much context and their thoughts on the process too especially jin when he said how everyone was talking about how hes still not going and he had to endure all that

At the time Chapter 2 started (June 2022), they haven’t fully expressed that it also was the start of them enlisting one by one. Jungkook had to say “if” cause Chapter 2 already began and yet he jumped at the opportunity to do Yet to Come in Busan as 7 in October 2022. So he didn’t lie, even if it’s chapter 2 when solo work is being done, all of them did Yet to Come in Busan.

Hearing them talk in this episode is hard, because for them, there was so much unknown and I believe so much they hadn't yet taken control of, i.e. their military enlistment. (Remember, their government was deciding whether they should be exempt or not and time was running out for Jin based on the BTS law.) The 2022 festa was so painful for both them and army. But, I LOVE that NOW DAYS they all just talk about how they can't wait to be together again. They refer to it in Weverse lives, and in Are You Sure and all kinds of places. I agree BTS chapter 3 won't look like BTS chapter 1! It shouldn't. They all have so much more experience now. I think Namjoon won't have soooo much pressure anymore as their leader, because they are each able to speak their own voice and have their solo experiences to strengthen their foundation. The seven together again....It's going to be EPIC!! :)

They ALWAYS said they were coming back as all seven. Bts has been very, very clear that they want to be OT7 Bts forever, with Armys forever. True Armys never once doubted this and it's one reason we stayed. We 100% believed in them and had faith that we would be reunited with Bts soon.

i think it sounds very unsure because nobody knows the future for sure. yes we all want them to return but realistically people can change over time. Namjoon has expressed that a few times before, because although the members have been eager and planning to reunite, theres always that level uncertainty and unknown feeling lingering that only time could tell. through out their enlistment time though, the members have sent us letters on weverse. its a great way of coping for both the members and army bc it updates us on their thoughts and feelings. i cant wait to hear all about it from their actual mouths when they finally come back and go live😭

Folks don’t acknowledge it but V said he deeply considered whether he wanted to resign their recent contract renewal. He actually references this in one of the earlier episodes, but if you don’t know what he’s referencing it’s easy to miss.

I think some of us are neglecting to see another factor that could have fed the tannies' doubt. Historically, KPOP boy groups lost a big chunk of their fanbase after their members' enlistment, so most of them didn't have anything to go back to. A lot of them tried to secure solo careers some decided to step away and start a family. BTS had/have the same thought too, even with their status. They have voiced this concern before (though in a more "joking" manner). A portion of the audience (or general public) will see them as too old, etc. I mean, I'm seeing this narrative now from solo fans (especially of those of the maknae line) towards the members. A lot of their messages right before enlistment and those during have this clear message: trust us, we still want to do this (the best is yet to come); don't forget about us/stay with us, etc. What BTS is about to embark starting in June is yet another path that very few has chartered. There are still groups that are sort of active after enlistment. But their "reach" are not as they were before enlistment. BTS always sounded like they are willing to try for that longevity, at least they said they would love to do so. But will they be successful and pave the way for the rest of KPOP yet again? We don't know. BTS history has told the tannies that if they have their fans to hold their hands and walk up the "mountain" with them - they will make it. So the question really is NOT whether BTS will walk up that mountain together, but whether fans will still be willing to hold their hands so they can reach the summit. I think that's where the doubt is from. They sounding optimistic; and are now entertaining the fact, that even if they won't get as much support as they did before enlistment, that will be enough for them. I've been a fan (though not always very active) for over 10 years now. I always trusted what they have been saying about Chapter 2 and what they want to happen to BTS. But that's me. I see many others that are feeding to that doubt of the longevity of BTS. Longevity that each member want so badly and felt (and maybe still feel, to some extent) they don't have control over.

That's where I think j-hope's tour doing well and Jin's tour selling tickets fast comes into play as well. It kind of shows they still have support and that there are people who trust the process. I still see people who become new Army in the last couple of months on socials. All 7 members now having reached 2 billion streams on Spotify is also amazing. The thing is at the hight of their success as BTS they also had a lot of GP listeners and they will probably have to work hard to gain some of that back but I also think they are content with doing what they love as BTS knowing they have their fans support. But like you said they are kind of entering uncharted territory because most groups don't maintain their popularity after enlistment but BTS is very much spoken about and seen and are still the most streamed SK group even without having released an album since 2022. So it's going to be interesting to see them navigate the future as a group and as solo artists.

Seeing Namjoon's letter esp. during the summer where he wrote about missing the members and wanting to reunite as Bangtan and see Army again was emotional. But they have said multiple times that they want to keep BTS alive for a long time I just personally think it will be in cycles if that makes sense with group projects being the focus at times and solo projects being the focus other times.

Although it’s sad but I kinda appreciate and understand when they decided to paused BTS activities due to the military enlistment bcs before BTS, most kpop groups I know still released music as a group minus the enlisted member (the company wouldn’t risk losing their money by pausing promotions) some would release and promotes in units too. Since bts and army are all about the 7 ofc it wouldn’t be right to continue being bts with any member missing out. so naturally they knew its time to focus and grow individually before reuniting again as a group. I also think this is good for them so that they’ll not be any regrets or resentment? later on.. just giving the space and opportunity for the members to do everything they wanted or couldn’t do before..genres to try and experiment on. It’s proven enough since we can see how different their solo musics was compared to bts discography or even between members themselves. So I’m beyond excited to see what kind of music and directions they’re going when they come back!! Can you imagine the avengers reunited??!

When their contract renewals came up in 2018, you might remember seeing the video — Jin mentioned it during an awards show, and Hobi spoke about it too. They were all crying. At the time, they were seriously considering disbanding. But instead, they chose to step back, reassess things, and find a way to continue — not just as a group, but as individuals pursuing their own goals while staying together. That moment, I believe, was the beginning of what we now know as Chapter 2. Interestingly, even before Chapter 2 officially began, the decision to stay together led to an explosion in their popularity.

Yes it definitely was a time of uncertainty for them and that’s why in the preview of next episode Jhope is saying that we need to have faith and trust them that everything they’re doing or choosing to do is the right decision. At that time it broke my heart the fact that they even had to ask us to trust them , to trust bts and have faith. But i guess they felt it was really was needed to ask for our trust in them. Anyways it was what i’ve always done. I only trust them and I’ll continue to do so 💜 (Side note: that’s why I hate when some “armys” get so caught up in rumors about them or start “analyzing” every single thing because that behavior is not needed at all and only generates more drama , like guys just trust bts and that they’re doing what they want to do!!!)

Also they have always said they wanted to keep being together and being active as BTS as long as it was possible. there hasn’t been any single moment since chapter 2 that they said otherwise and even in the festa dinner they said it wasn’t a disbandment and later on each of the members solo promotions they individually said they want and hope to get back together and are excited to see how things will work as a group again now that they each have their solo experience

I'm not sure if someone said this yet, but all their music videos, photoshoots and concerts have behind the scenes. for concerts they show behind the scenes for the VCRs, the rehearsals and the performance days so u really get insight into how the shows get put together. For Yet to come in Busan, the behind is on YT. I know u have a lot of content to get thru and perhaps its already in the works to get to that but I think before u start the concert cycle again, maybe u should check out the behinds. Some context for Busan concert as well cause I can't remember if the documentary mentions it. The PTD Vegas was meant to be the last concert, hence why chapter 2 started after June and Hobi did his solo stuff with Jack in the Box, other members were scheduled after Hobi to release their solo work and Jin was meant to enlist over the summer. The Busan concert was part of a bid for the city of busan to hold a global expo and they asked BTS if they would do it. They realised they never got a proper goodbye, and with the reaction to the Festa dinner, Jin postponed and they agreed to do the concert. By the time the concert came around, Jin had officially applied to receive a date to enlist so they made it their goodbye concert. There were many obstacles since the organization from the City's side was so bad but the boys were determined so Hybe took over and forked the bill for everything. Thats why Jin only had one song prepared before he left. He wasn't meant to still be around as long as he was. The documentary kinda jumps around in timelines without saying it too. Like Yoongi in the studio was from when they were in LA for PTD hence the hair colour, not Vegas. Same with Jin fishing. Its little things u only notice if u experienced the events in real time as u see them post on twitter, instagram and weverse as those things happen. Also from Bangtan Bombs and behinds. I highly highly recommend u read the book Beyond the Story, as it gives a more in depth look at basically whats summed up in this documentary, and a more consistent time line of events.

I feel like the best follow up to the Beyond the Star series is Festa Dinner 2022. So it can approximate our state of mind at the time we also watched it in real time.. The timeline was in shambles.. We were scared we wont hear from any of them for a long time. But looking back now, WOW, I've never been busier as an ARMY than in the past 2.5 years😅😆

It's funny how y'all talk about having to read the captions & watch what BTS are doing on the screen... so then for me, I'm reading the captions (even though I understand Korean conversationally, it's just a habit) & trying to see what BTS are doing on the screen (even if I've already seen it) PLUS trying to see your reactions! LOL
