Happy New Year Primos!!! 🤍

As we step into a brand new year, we just want to pause for a moment and say thank you.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for supporting us, encouraging us, challenging us, and caring as deeply as you do.

We've said this a lot before but, CCW exists because of this community, and we truly do appreciate it. 🫶🏼

The start of a new year is always a good time for reflection - what’s working, what can improve, and how we can make this space better and more enjoyable for everyone. With that in mind, we want to share one important change, as well as some ideas we have for the rest of the year.

The Biggest Change: Birthday Weeks

This is the big one, so we want to explain it clearly and honestly.

A couple of years ago, birthday weeks included both Youtube and Patreon videos dedicated to that member. Last year, after a community poll, we adjusted things so that Patreon stayed on its planned schedule (OT7 or whatever series we were already watching), while YouTube focused on the birthday member. That change came directly from your feedback, and we were happy to try it.

However, over the past year, we noticed a pattern that was hard to ignore -

Nearly every single birthday week brought a level of negativity and criticism that we generally don’t see during the rest of the year — not just toward us, but between ARMY themselves. The most common issue wasn’t that we celebrated a birthday, but how we did it:

We of course understand the passion and many comments were definitely constructive, but it consistently turned into something else. What should have been joyful, celebratory moments kept turning into tension, and that’s the opposite of what we want for this community.

So after a lot of thought, reflection, and conversation, we’ve decided to try a new approach.

What’s Changing

We will no longer do full “birthday weeks” with multiple dedicated videos tied to one member. Instead we will try a new approach that looks like this:

• We will continue to mix solo content for all members throughout the entire year, not just during birthdays

• We’ll aim to keep this as balanced as possible, but we won't rely so much on rigid spreadsheets (although we do still have it as a reference). It'll be more by feel, awareness, community feedback, and of course new content that drops.

• When a member’s birthday comes around, we will still do something special on or around that day — whether that’s a single dedicated video, a small montage, or another meaningful way to honor them (we’re still refining this part)

Our hope is that this change reduces unnecessary pressure, comparisons, and arguments — and allows birthdays to feel like celebrations again, not stress points. Essentially, treat this as any OT7 army already would and show love across the board 🙏 . We hope this will improve things but like everything else, we'll re-evaluate at the end of the year.

Variety Shows

We've been loving these variety shows and we will definitely keep going. For those here on Patreon, we’ll likely continue alternating with OT7 content when shows are more solo-focused (Friendcation, Kian’s Bizarre BnB, etc) similar to how we’re currently handling Jinny’s Kitchen. Although this is something we may change. Of course if anything has the potential to change, we'll do a community post or poll.

Staying Flexible for OT7

This one is huge for us too!! With OT7 content and a BTS comeback on the horizon, we’re intentionally leaving room wherever possible to adapt quickly when new content drops. It's our first comeback 😳, so we want to make sure we can get to new content sooner than later! Can't WAIT!!!

We also want to lightly tease something exciting we’ve been working on behind the scene for quite some time:

One of the main goals is to help address long-standing access issues — especially for supporters in countries like India — while also improving the overall experience for everyone. We’ll share much more about this soon!!
