What's up primos!

Today we are back with the Melon Music Awards 2015 and 2016! 11 YEARS AGO! We watched the MAMA from 2016 a few weeks back and it was really emotional and of course we wanted more. So today we check out a performance and some behind the scenes. Will they have eyeliner and be wearing leather? Let's see what the baby BTS were up to back then. Let's hop in.

They gave it their all! Probably helps that they have such a small setlist and man do they go all out. Then all the bottled up emotion comes out in their acceptance speech in the behind the scene interviews. Hobi/Jin had us 🥲! Hard to believe this was 10 years ago that they won Album of the Year and they are still going strong!

pretty sure this was their FIRST EVER daesang guys😭 thats why it hit some of them so hard. and then they won artist of the year at mamas i think a month later (which you guys watched recently) and THATS when it hit namgi hardest. Im just forever so proud of them. They never stopped having that same hunger. and thank god the they didnt show a close up of jin sobbing but i cant see that man cry like that :((

The album of the year awards was their very first Daesang (Grand Prize) that’s why is was so meaningful. Practically their Grammy. The top 10 award was a Bonsong (main prize but smaller than a grand prize) and it’s given to the top 10 K-pop artists who achieved the highest level of public love and digital success.

first time winning a grand price (daesang) 😭😭😭 my heart can't take it every time Fyi (that's what Daniel was referring to at the end) every end-of-year music korean award show (MMA, MAMA, GDA) used to have 3 daesangs : song of the year, album of the year and artist of the year. Winning one of them was a big big deal, and only artists from the Big3 used to win them, as you know. BTS broke this "curse". That's why they were so shocked and emotional too 🥹

They were shocked bc I’m pretty sure they were the first group outside of the big 3 to ever win a daesang (grand prize) so it was a big milestone not just in their career but in kpop as a whole. So proud of them to this day💜

The nostalgic feeling comes back everytime 🥹😭. 32:22 to 32:30, they were still underdogs even though the wings era became their major comeback after hyyh era and they have raised the standard so high for the kpop industry that the big 3 couldn't stand my 7 wonderful guys were outselling them. 2015 army here just keeping it real😌💜

Such an unforgettable night! It was the first time they won Daesang for Album of the Year, followed by another win for Artist of the Year in the same year. From then on, they kept winning both categories year after year, and no other idol group could really match them during these award seasons. Other groups were great in their own right, but BTS was simply in a league of their own. ARMY here since 2014, and looking back at their journey still makes me emotional. What a privilege it is to have witnessed it all real time. Always so proud of our seven. 💜

Idol reaction videos? Do you mean videos of idols reacting to BTS during these shows? That would be a shame if that takes place for many many videos of BTS themselves, don't you think?
