Good Morning Primos!

We hope you enjoy our reaction!

PS - We're glad to be back 🙂. See everyone in the comments!

Ohh goood after this, its HYYH! Im so excited for The Most Beautiful Moment in Life! Their best album ever!!! 💜

LINDSEY WARD

You're going to love I need you!!! It's their breakthrough song 💜

Nayli Qistina

Rm has also consulted a women’s studies professor after this song was criticised..he said he did that so that he can learn more abt feminism and women’s struggle as a whole and to ensure his lyrics are not offensive towards any gender before it came out .. even though most of us think that he didn’t need to do that .. it just amazes me how great and wise , thoughtful namjoon is as a person .. oh plus they have also released the song ‘21st century girls’ that actually focuses on women empowerment and how women should change themselves for men and such it’s such a great song . I hope you guys get to that song someday;) thank you for this reaction guys !💜💜

Caroline

Sooo excited for next week and I Need You! I feel like that's when their journey really begins. Can't wait for you to get the first taste of the BU!

Fatbottomgirlsrock

They got a lot of flack for this song but I don't find it to be anything but boys talking about what is going on in their heads/bodies while maturing. It's a shame they don't perform it anymore because I love the cheeky, mischievous spirit of the song & dance

Christine Canada

maybe you can do full album reactions after you listen to all the title songs :)

CJ

Maybe you can have a poll (uh-oh.. LOL) or curve ball videos for B-sides :) P.S. Ahem.. House of Cards, cough LOL just teasing :D

Kara

Guys you are not ready for I need you! Be careful to watch the original (19+ version!)

Infinite Ree

I mean..... This is soooooo tame compared to what Western artists sing about. Ppl were obviously making trouble for NO REASON.

Marcy Turney

I love this song so much that I’m bummed they don’t perform it live because of all the hate they got from it. I’m 44 and from California, trust me from all the music here this was child’s play! They were just singing about what teenage boys think, and come on us girls were the same way just not as open about it. Thanks for the reaction, looking forward to the next one💜💜💜💜 I forget to mention, I’m sure someone has already told you but just in case, for I need you make sure you watch the original version or you won’t get the full affect of the video. I also know you don’t plan to get into the BU just yet so don’t try to make since of the MV just enjoy it and understand it has nothing to do with the song. Also it was supposed to be I need you friend but it sounded weird so they changed it to girl. 💜💜

Rafaa Z

My favorite "I need you" is up next, and you'll start to get confused with the BU ant HYYH the best album, love your reactions from Saudi Arabia 💜🫡

Yuktha

Woah from next week the BU is gonna start..!!!!

Rae

I can’t wait for I Need U! It was the very first song I heard from BTS and was my favorite for forever!

J-Lee

Summer was right when she mentioned "that maybe in BTS fashion, they would've really apologized and stuff". She really gets BTS now 😊 Our boys have always been respectful, and after this, RM even said that they've become more careful with their lyrics that they even consult an expert or like a teacher to examine their lyrics if it would trigger a certain issue again at every aspect. Well, haters and antis would just say whatever to pull Bangtan down. I've heard and seen so many western songs that would curse and pertain to women as s*xual objects but hey, they don't have haters like BTS does 😩 Thanks for this reaction. And for learning more about the boys. Borahae CCW 💜

Tameka

This song is really like calm and not offensive compared to what Western artists sings and I'm from Jamaica, and dancehall music is really something compared to this.. people just wanted to tarnish their career.

Joy

I hope we’re getting the music video for I Need U. I know you previously mentioned saving the BU MVs for later on when you officially dive in to BU story. Just a friendly reminder, there’s a Japanese MV version to the song that also tells the BU storyline but just different imagery. Maybe you can use the Japanese MV for when you dive in to the storyline and react to the official MV this week if you guys haven’t taped your reaction already.

Miz Ann

Are they entering the BU next week.. I Nees You will be the next MV and I'm so excited about it.😅.

H.sv

this is the song that made me an army. i still dont get the problem with the songs. they are singing as teenager and young adults how fucked up their hormones is.

Tonya W

I understand what you're saying, but all of it was part of their journey. They have so many meaningful songs in those first 2 years and it showed how they are grounded in hiphop

Trish Pañares

Love this song, and just like the others I feel sorry that they don’t perform this anymore. 🙁 I hope you get to do album reactions eventually. BTS has too many fantastic songs that don’t get featured enough, and it’s a pity as musicians that you have to skip those for now. Anyway, I’m sure you guys will eventually get there. 😄

Tonya W

As an indie/eclectic music lover (and mostly not a fan of top 40 radio), I also tend to love their b-sides more than their title songs

Caroline

That’s also true and the very first 4 albums still hold few of my most favourite songs from them 💜

Marcy Turney

When they post this on YT they have to interrupt the video a lot because of copyright, here they don’t have to do that.

Marcy Turney

What I don’t understand is that there are songs that women sing that say things about men but no one complains about that. In my opinion it should be a two way street.

idk k

AAAHH IM SO EXCITED FOR U TO SEE I NEED U. this was the song that started their success in korea. it’s insane - i don’t want to spoil anything (it was mentioned in the story of bts video) but ull see y it helped them gain a lot of attention

ARose

I can’t wait for you guys to react to Attack on Bangtan I believe it’s a B-side but it’s still in the era, hopefully it ends up in the polls soon

idk k

also for clarification - a huge point of contention for ppl to hate on this song was because of a mistranslation from an outside party (idk who but it obv wasn’t big hit or the boys) where a lyric jungkook said was translated as “girls are the equations, we do it” - u already saw from the video thsi was not the right lyrics, which are “girls are the equations, we solve them” because of the mistranslation that’s how a lot of the hate was mostly fuelled so it was basically them hating on smthing that they didn’t even say

TSO 아포방포

I’m as conservative and prudish as they come and I don’t have a problem with this song. It’s actually a very moderate and fun way of saying what teenage boys are experiencing in reaction to teenage girls. Translations make a big difference too. I enjoy the MV very much. American music is far more offensive!!!

JH

Special Special song - The Song that REELED me into ARMY fandom.. uuffda!! The emotion and passion in this song is so raw!! Makes you love them!! I love how Summer goes into the Defensive MAMA mode!! - Borahae for that!! <3

Cristine

It's great to also listen to the recommended b-side for every album. It's a treasure box. You will know they found you, instead of you finding them. They dont do performance for my beloved song of theirs which is Heartbeat. but this would crash everyone's heart and will make everyone tear up if it will be included on their comeback concert. I hope and I pray.

MJ

This is a perfect example of how some things are a problem simply because it came from BTS. They’re held to this extreme “moral standard” because that makes it easy for antis to just point to things (like WOH) as a gotcha moment. All they have to do is say “BTS’ misogynistic lyrics” and they know non-army will probably just take that at face value and do no further research. After the backlash, Namjoon said he has consulted with a women’s studies professor on lyrics for their opinion. So now, those same antis use THAT as a gotcha moment saying “why does he need a professor to tell him how to not be a misogynist.” Anyway, WOH is a fun song and video with an intention of expressing a specific sentiment that got twisted and, as others have said, it sucks they’ll almost certainly never perform it again.

taesthetic_mots

Can you do full album reactions after all the title tracks are done?

Angie7

Y’all need to react to the dance practice of war of harmones…they were crack heads that day😂😂

Angie7

That is one of my top 5 favorite Songs😍That is a song for a game but that needs to be on an album

Angie7

amen!!

j

“WOH” lyrics are so sweet & innocent compared to songs like “WAP”!!! Legends like Marvin Gaye with the classic “Let’s Get It On” don’t get criticized for its “risque” lyrics! x

Sunny Young

After reading about people fake upset because, HAVE YOU SEEN HOW THE GIRLS OF K_POP ARE DRESSED????? If they don't want to be objectified as sex objects, then perhaps a larger statement would be not to have 16 yr olds, girls dance on poles and well, look for yourself. The entire outrage was ridiculous, and had more to do with Parents and Korean culture than fans. I totally agree with you, all of you. However right or wrong Korean culture forces teens to focus on education and getting into a good college. Do a little research on the subject. I feel so bad for all kids in Korea. IN fact, Korea has a had a zero population growth in the past few years and the reason is it's so expensive to raise a child in Korea, and Couples don't want to do to a child what was done to them. I think Rice Squad has a good video on the subject.

Zephys

LOVE IT! as always you guys made me smile today ty. Cant wait for next week I need you! hopefully you guys react to the original MV but dont worry if u didnt i still love you all the same !

Kristel Mantilla

BU ERA IS COMIIIIIIIIING!!!! War of Hormone is a bomb! 💜

RL

Oh guys! You have to watch Run BTS latest episode Mini Field Day (part 1 & 2)! Looks like it's the last episode for a really long time.. It was really funny and also bittersweet at the end! Enjoy!

Kara

Yeess!! House of Cards!!! Their best song ever

j

Honestly they handled the whole controversy with such courtesy. Not only did they own up and apologize to those who they offended (mostly by mistranslated lyrics btw), but they actually followed up that apology by consulting women's study professionals to review their lyrics for their other up coming songs. They even made a feminist anthem (21st century girls) a few years after the incident. They've really proven themselves to actively educate themselves about the issue while constantly speak for equality. Not to mention they are very well aware that their fanbase is female dominant, and while most male artists with female dominated fanbases do too, bts aren't ashamed of it. They love us loud and proud and that's something i've never seen a male artist, let alone a 'boy band' do with their fans. It's a different kind of feeling to truly be appreciated and celebrated by your favorite artist 🥰

j

Also! Can't wait for i need u - such an iconic milestone in bts' journey. Please do watch the original version of the MV on Hybe's youtube channel! This is where your BU journey starts 😁

itsmekristinem

Thank you so much for reacting to this! I'm so excited for next week's video!!! Let's go enter the BU! 💜💜💜💜

j

I see the point you're trying to make but WAP is the worst song you could compare to WOH. WAP is sung by women and they're celebrating *their own* bodies. You don't have to like the song but to make your point you should pick a song that's objectifying or belittling women and *sung by men*.

Jzone

Another great reaction CCW! Thank you so much for your time and hard work! I hope you had time to relax on your short trip. Looking forward to the rest of this week's reactions and I Need U! Can't wait, it's gonna good!

Angelines

There's nothing wrong with this song and that's a hill I'm willing to die on 💁🏻‍♀️🤣

Cycology SPIN and MORE

WAP is the most disgusting song in the history of time- just my opinion Trash

Bora

I wasn’t going to reply to this comment, but it feels very wrong to me and therefore would like to say while I agree that minors shouldn’t dress the way they do in kpop if you mean to say that men are allowed to treat them (minors) as sex objects for that reason (for what? A crop top/skirt?), that is so wrong to say. I have only seen one kpop idol get on a pole as you say and she is 25 years old. Also a lot of time it’s the company telling them what to wear. Those girls don’t have much of a say.

Atutami

Abby & Gabe hug in the beginning is so cute 🥰 Great intro Abby!

Arla

Soooo excited for your reaction to I NEED U!! This is definitely one of the most shocking mv of our tannies and how great it is

Min

omgg i really can't wait to see your reaction to i need u but i really hope u will react to the original ver (it's longer and there's some blood but it really is aesthetically pleasing) (starting of the bu too)

jeonjk7777777

cant wait for the I NEED U reaction!! please react to the original version, and if you can, the prologue as well, I think it'll perfectly tie into the hyyh story line.

Its_A_Whitt_Thang

Please don't cut out the bloopers. I love the interaction. The lovey dovey time of Abigail and Gabe was so cute. I hope that you have a week of chaos with BTS. Jimin vs chairs. JK zoning out and buffering, J-hopes sounds, Suga being savage, RM as the god of destruction and Jin the real Maknae of BTS. Enjoy

Itami

There's literally nothing wrong with the lyrics lol. As a woman being told that Im perfect from head to toe or that im the best present is honestly something I'd take very positively lmao. And this does not in any way stray from BTS' direction. They wanted to capture every little part of youth and growing up and naturally puberty, hormones, getting more conscious of your desires is a big part of that. The haters werent offended, they literally started the controversy AFTER BTS started getting more popular, not even when the song was released lmao. Just nitpicking, and looking for something to hate on and blow out of proportion or take out of context.

Emma H

The bike joke! The Jimin vs Gravity memes 🤣💀 Great reaction and great editing!

Echo

will you consider doing the dance practice with I NEED YOU?

Sleepyritz

Dang Abby really does have guns!! Look at that flex! You go girl!

Sleepyritz

I think it would be cool if the synopsis for next weeks video had a disclaimer to read it after watching the video. It would really be cool to watch a completely blind reaction to such a pivotal MV. Imo

Kimberly Cima

That sound byte behind Jiminie falling out of chairs was hysterical 😂

Rokm_

War of Hormone is one of my favorites, haters gonna hate lol. I wish you guys had time in your schedule to do album listenings. Dark and Wild, their first full album which WoH is a part of, is definitely a masterpiece. From RM’s Intro What am I to You, to b-sides such as Hip Hop Philer, Let me Know, Look Here, to the Outro: Do You think it makes sense, it’s full of gems and really good songs the guys worked on in their early years as a group. It also shows the constant evolution in music style and quality. Truly amazing. Hope you can listen to the full albums one day. Thank you for this reaction :)

Rokm_

Also, Jimin’s first solo album has been officially announced today! So excited!!! FACE IS COMING! 🥰🥰🥰🥳

Cycology SPIN and MORE

OMG! I cannot believe we are finally at "I need u" next week! Okay since this is THE song that officially launched them into the stratasfere.... (you know what I mean!) Please do more for this one! Do the dance practice and/or live performances or behind the scenes of the video?! Super excited for next week!!

Sunny Young

wow, did you misread what I wrote. a crop top and a skirt??? you need a watch some more female k pop, if you can stomach it. plus NO WHERE did I say it was right. I never even alluded to that. I was talking about the over reaction to the song. OMG, like how did you ever get that ??? I give up posting any commentary, FACTS, or anything more than a thank you in here. Jeez.

Bora

I apologize if I’m wrong, but seeing ‘If they don’t want to be objectified as sex objects, then perhaps a larger statement would be not to have 16 yr olds….’ Sounds like you’re saying if they didn’t do that then men wouldn’t objectify them. Maybe I read it wrong 🤷‍♀️ if so, my bad

Bora

I seriously haven’t seen that side of kpop. Which maybe is a good thing bc I agree that 16 year olds shouldn’t be doing that

Bora

But you also said ‘dressed’ and I only see kpop idols usually wearing crop tops or skirts

Jennifer Ramirez

I completely agree with I NEED YOU, please do Dance practice

Elise

Namjoon literally said the song was about boys when they’re young and their hormones. People just wanted to hate them for everything, so this was kinda a perfect thing for people to pick on… for me personally I didn’t get offended at all honestly. It’s just boys being boys and they say beautiful and not like sexy so I kinda feel like it’s not degrading or anything and saying how women are the best thing in the world. But Rm took women studies and stuff after all the hate so even tho the song itself wasn’t harming for us women, he still took his time to learn how to respect and talk about women🫶🏼

Armystic

I would watch “I need u” the original mv blind…. Don’t read about it first or anything… it will really hinder the experience imo

Maeee

I agree

Sunny Young

like I said , people assume what they want to, without thinking it through. anyway, I really did not think anything in that would be inflammatory, but I am done with comments in here. apology accepted. enjoy these good people and their fun reactions.

Cat D

I don't enjoy songs that specify 'girl' or 'boy' so when I learned that RM wanted to use 'friend' but lyrically it didn't work (stupid English lol) it made me like this song 100% more but still sad they used 'girl' in the end, tho at least it wasn't the original desire to do so. It would've been amazing if they had switched it up during the song and used 'boy' as well but the Kpop world might have imploded over it. :/

Cat D

I'm dying to see them watch the dance practices. I wish they'd do it alongside the MVs so they can see the full choreo!

penelope

That is how I also read it. I am confused on what you're intending to say here

penelope

I am new to the Patreon and adore your reactions!!!! You guys are amazing. Keep up the good work

penelope

I agree!! It would be great to see a more deep dive into this one for reactions!!

penelope

I fully agree. BTS got wrongly hated on for this song when there are worse songs out there that get no hate

penelope

the bloopers really make my day

penelope

yes that would be awesome. I have been waiting so long for album reactions (take your time though)

J-Lee

Yep! I also wish that, Cat D. Like a dance practice vid would be say additional 5mins max if watched without pauses since it's a dance video anyways, no subs or talking, etc 💜 Coz if they react to it separately, then that's another schedule taken with just one video of the same content 😔

BZ

Honestly, I love this song. So fun and playful like you said in your reaction. :D

Chris Drady

Cute little side note - the guys didn’t know who the girl would pick in the end - they had no idea. Lol

j

TMI about bodily fluids that no one cares to know about!

j

KPOP so harmless compared to some other genre of music which I don't care to mention. Those people are literally naked every time they are in the limelight regardless whether they have a fit body or not!

boraveena

Me hearing the next one is I need you : exactly that meme from editor xen 😆😆

MintChoco

Exactly Daniel, please react to some more B-side tracks whenever you can, there are so many good ones!

Angie7

Yes maybe following a music video or live performance a dance practice would be cool ….some are loaded with chaos and others sheer perfection

Alexandra

I love seeing all of your fun personalities especially your banter before the reaction haha made me smile! Great reaction! ^_^

Ali

Oh goodness, when you guys rewound back to the “pimple” double entendre. Rofl. 😂

Ali

Editor Zen is hilarious, btw.

Sarah Gonzalez

As some of the comments have mentioned, I would also agree that you should go into I Need You blind. Only because it might take away from the impact of the story.

Rachel Lynn

I love war of hormone. The controversy behind it...no comment. People can feel the way they feel. But as someone that has been an avid fan of rap and hip-hop...the lyrics are not offensive at all. But the way they handled the controversy speaks volumes about their characters. Still makes me sad that they'll never perform this song live ever again

eucalyptus

obviously i can't speak for all women (whose feelings are valid!) when i say this song wasn't offensive (to me) but i do think the majority of hate they got for this song was purely to bring them down like you said. this was a point where they were really starting to break through to mainstream kpop and people didn't really want them to win. even within the kpop industry, there were so many songs at the time that are truly objectifying women that didn't get the same hate bts got for war of hormone. and also, like you mentioned, these are just the thoughts of teenagers who are first diving into the world of romance/dating/sex so it makes sense that it comes off a little strong. some of the word choice could have been better but to me it still doesn't even come close to offensive
