I'm 99.99% Azula was definitely going to end Mai because her fingers were positioned for a lighting attack not firebending, if im not wrong. Remember a straight shot would kill if you didn't know how to redirect like Uncle Iroh, unless you survive through a miracle I guess. BTW I'm so glad you didn't guess what was going to happen, it's a thousand times better when you are clueless

PHEW! I love this episode, *especially* that plot twist at the end with Ty Lee! And tbh, I don't think Ty Lee and Mai were ever genuine "besties" with Azula. Yeah they grew up together, but it seems like she always treated them as lesser than and pressured them with fear. Azula is like the toxic friendship they both couldn't shake.
