I want you all to know you rock. This week I got a couple of email as "reviews" for my work that were just hate mail about why the story sucks and they dislike the direction it's taking.

I kindly told them they could stop reading my story if they didn't like it. I felt no ill-will towards them because I didn't need their approval. I wasn't writing for them.

I write for you all. I appreciate so much that you all are my audience. As long you all are happy with what I'm writing, I'm happy. So, thank you.

No, thank *you* For your creative, talented, erotic and kinky mind, and the willingness to share it with us.

The internet turns nice people into jack holes. Or reveals their true nature. Either way, I'm glad you're writing for us and I hope you write for you too. I had this conversation with a chef friend who owns a few restaurants and we were talking about making things, creation, etc...and he said, "The secret for me is that I don't cook for other people, I cook for me. I cook what I want to eat but can't find out there." That has stuck in my head and it seems like a valid way to create without being superfluous. :)

That is the exact secret. I write for me, and it's nice if other people like it. I had a long email exchange with someone who felt the story was bad, and I ended with "if you don't like it, don't read it. The internet lacks no smut."
