An Unfortunate Announcement (Patreon)
Content
Hello Darlings,
I actually meant to post this about a week ago to give people the chance to change their subscriptions before the 1st of the month, but as is indicative for this season of my life, I ran out of time. As you all know, I've just moved and found a new job. That was plenty of distraction and time taken from me. To help you understand how little time I have, the two chapters of I Want a Wife were written in June. I just haven't had the time to edit them and post them. That's like two hours of free time I can't find.
And when it rains it pours. In early September, I lost both of my grandmothers to COVID one right after the other. That has been a huge drain to my emotional drive to write or even edit. It's hard to care about or get into a slow-burn feminization story at this time.
But I think this has all given me some perspective on Patreon that may be healthy for a longterm relationship with the platform. I've often thought of Patreon as sort of my job. You are my customers much more so than anyone on Amazon or MCStories. These are my people and for $5 a month, you are buying three chapters or short stories from me. But that means when I don't post, I beat myself up. I mean, really beat myself up. And that doesn't help me overcome that wall at all.
So I am going to change my model a bit. I'm going to remove all tiers but the $5 one. If you want to support me as an artist, just as like a "hey, I love your work, and I hope you get to keep creating, then be a patron." I can't promise extra content, and honestly so much of my content is available for free online. I've never really aimed to make a living with this. I mostly needed funds to make covers and host websites and cover some of the actual costs of my work as well as get in contact with people who love my work and create along with them. If you are a patron solely because of the bonus content (which I totally get and accept), then perhaps this patreon isn't for you for the next few months. I can't promise bonus content. But if you are a patron because you like me work and want to support me, lower your support to $5 and stick with me. I'll still do stories for you all. I'll post when I can. I don't really plan to change how much I post to you all. All I want to do is remove the expectation that I have to post.
If that saddens any of you or causes you to leave, I understand. It saddens me too. But you all deserve more than silence for sure. I just want to make the expectations clear so everyone knows what they've signed up for. I've prided myself over the past years on having a regular and reliable posting schedule. I'm hoping these dark times pass soon, because I have so many hot ideas that I just don't have the energy for when I sit down at the computer and stare at the blank page.
I love you all. You've helped me more than you can know. Whether you stay or leave, I've appreciated each of you immensely,
Kisses,
Trixie
