What's your favorite Anime that's released this year?

Comments

Jeff Schaller

In 2026? Totally new for this year, "Smoking behind the supermarket with you."

BakaSama

I haven't watched any brand new series this year, but as far as returning series my favorite I think has been One Piece followed very closely by Jujutsu Kaisen and Re:Zero.

Fatalistic Viking

The new Ghost in the Shell. It's been a while since I've been able to watch a series treat you like an adult and requires you to be an active viewer. Even though it's only 10 episodes it's been the deepest, most philosophical anime I've watched since Ergo Proxy.

Wu I-hsiang

Though I Am An Inept Villainess

Cronshaw

Was going to say Clevatess but that debuted last year. Looking through the list of stuff that is new this year? Probably Ramparts of Ice

Lawrence Flower

For me it has been Tanya the evil season 2

DerHausschuh

"Journal With Witch". It's probably going to be my anime of the year for new shows. One the most mature shows I've seen in a long time.

Chandell Monroe

Futsutsuka na Akujo dewa Gozaimasu ga/Though I Am an Inept Villainess

Ltnorm

Easy "a livid lady's guide to getting even" a superb revnge story

Cerulean Spectre

there's a few welcome to demon school! iruma season 4 and that time i got reincarnated as a slime season 4 and The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King, and water magician and Though I Am an Inept Villainess

Foxglow_Gaming(NOR)

that time i got reincarnated as a slime season 4 and apothecary diaries season 3

AgRoseCrystal

The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World

Redssracer

So far, these have been my favorite ones, Frieren S2, Wistoria S2, The Exiled Knight Knows How to Game the System, A Livid Lady's Guide to Getting Even, Tomb Raider King...

We are definitely checking this one out soon! I think we might still have a Tanya movie to watch too

theheck

I love to hear it. Definitely been interested in the new Ghost in the Shell!

Spiritstrike

Wistoria S2, The Saga of Tanya the Evil S2, Campfire Cooking S2, The Apothecary Diaries S3, Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling, Dr Stone, Dandivine

Fatalistic Viking

It's definitely worth checking out, though I will say that because of how complex, deep, and includes foot notes like the Manga, if you want to make sure that you don't miss anything I recommend the dub. Amazon prime only seemed to add subs for those foot notes in the dub version. Plus the speed of the subs made things a bit more difficult to understand everything. I've actually been editing the subs for those foot notes so you didn't have to pause the show to read them. I only bring this up because I want to make sure that if you guys do check it out that you enjoy it as much as you can.

Lysandia

yes, the movie comes before season 2, so if you dont watch it you WILL be confused about what you are missing lol

Re:Zero season 4 has been amazing, Reincarnated as a Slime was also quite peak. Mushoku Tensei also had a great season. Basically Isekai fans ate good this year.

Jeff Schaller

However, if you include follow up seasons, I have two recommendations. 1. You and I are polar opposites, season 2. And 2. Tensura season 4. With only one episode out so far, I cant say Apothecary Diaries season 3, yet. But judging by the source material and the episode we've seen it looks very promising.

This one sounds interesting!
