Hi everyone!I just realized it’s already been two years since the first public release of Steps of Debauchery! Normally I’d prepare something special for the occasion, but with all the work on Episode 5.0 I completely forgot about it.

I just want to say it’s been a busy but really interesting time. A lot has changed since I first started making renders — at first it was just a hobby, then I helped other developers, and finally I decided to create Steps of Debauchery. It definitely turned my life upside down, but in a good way.

Today I’d like to take some time to answer your questions. You can ask about the project, development, creating in general, or anything else. Just one rule: no spoilers about the next update - don’t even try!

So feel free to post your questions and like the ones you’re most interested in. That way I’ll know what you really want me to answer, and we’ll avoid repeated questions.

Most my questions border spoilers, so ill try to keep it simple. In one of the update posts there was mention of existing scenes and expanding the story, is it possible some of the older scenes are getting a rework? One other thing, I took a break to wait for a few updates, I know a mirror was added to view outfits but will we get more control of day to day outfits if not doing a story path with a specific one?

We won’t be reworking old scenes, but we might create alternative versions of them in the future. Unfortunately, outfit changes won’t be possible, as it’s nearly impossible to implement in games made with Daz.

Steam policy change doesn't affect us - new episode 5.0 is going to be free for people who already bought the game. New DLC is going to be paid though.

What inspired you to make this game? And did you have any DAZ experiences or coding experience before making this game? Mostly curious about this cause I was thinking about doing something like this but I feel like the time needed will be hard to managed cause of personal issues at hand.

1. I really enjoy the economic side of the game. Are you planning to flesh it out more and turn it into a tougher challenge? Raley seems to have surprisingly few whims and expenses for such a young girl – that just doesn’t happen in real life 😁 2. Don’t you think the mafia guys come across as a bit too moral? Right now, it’s hard to even see them as actual criminals. 3. Can we look forward to new locations and characters that will play a bigger role in shaping the story? 4. And what about the bulletin board in the library? Any chance you’ll bring back the tutoring idea?

Just one more thing—what comes after the game’s ending? Do you see Riley taking part in another project down the road? Maybe a new DLC, or even a fresh game set in a completely different world? I’ve got to say, I’ve really grown attached to her.

1. I don’t want to spoil it. 2. I like that the game feels pretty light-hearted, so I decided to keep the mafia storyline gentle too. It fits the overall story concept — it’s the main theme, but I didn’t want it to dominate or overshadow everything else. 3. I can't spoil it, you need to wait to see. 4. We decided to step back from tutoring plot and implement art classes instead.

I think creating renders in Daz is just fun and it was pretty easy to learn. Later I worked with a few other developers on their games, and eventually I decided to make something of my own. The inspiration, of course, came from other games with a similar theme. Honestly, I was learning a lot while making the game — you can see it in how the renders improve with each update.

Ah okay so you had experience before creating your own. Yea was curious cause I was looking i to possibly using Daz or HS2 and learn from there but of course I heard Daz can be expensive

Love the work and the story so far. Hands down probably the best renders I’ve seen in any work. It’s more wishful thinking than a question, but I hope to see more Richard and Riley together , maybe pay her in a different method 👀.

Boss, the most important question is this: Will Steps of Debauchery ever get a sequel? A continuation of the story of the wonderful Riley? You know, 7.0/8.0 is coming, and when you release the full game, it'll be sad for fans. It's your own fault; you created the perfect game, so we'll demand SoD 2 or something similar!

I'm still not sure what we will do after SoD, but I doubt it will be a continuation. Time will tell :)

Hope you and the loved ones are doing well too. Im happy to see this game keep going and your community keep being supportive. Im happy to keep up the support and just wish I could support it more to be honest. Your game is awesome and yes I do like the tone of the game cus even though it is about corruption it does feel light hearted which honestly makes the game more fun than others that push that gritty tone. Also appreciate how it feels like she is the one making choices for herself for the most part. I wouldn't change a thing so also probably why I have no real questions. 😅 I've got trust in you and the teams direction for SOD. Keep it up and I'm eager for more. 👌💪🏽

What kind of hardware did you start developing the game on, and is the script already finalized, or are you still adding new ideas so that, really, anything could still happen?

How do you maintain such a reliable and tight schedule? Other games of this quality suffer heavily from extremely long update cycles. Also, did you begin this project solo or with a team?

I've started with 3090, so my GPU was good enough to handle everything. We have planned whole script till the end of the game - small changes might still happen, but nothing serious.

I just love the game. The recommendation I got from another developer is the best thing ever! I love any cuckold or cheating themed game on the condition it’s good and of quality, which is the case for your game. Personally, I have a feeling Riley and the Dean will have a deeper emotional bond between them. Am I correct?

Who was your inspiration behind the Riley model? Was it a real life person? I know you don't want to spoil the plot, however if the game ends with Mike taking a Russian male lover, i would laugh.

You could say we’re always recruiting, but in the past two years we’ve only found one artist who works with us permanently. Unfortunately, I’m quite picky about keeping the game’s style consistent, so that makes things a bit tricky. AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 4090 64gb ram

Hello, as someone asked below, I was also wondering what kind of person or to whom Riley could be compared, but since the Creator had to choose someone, and how he answered himself is a mystery, we're left to wonder who and to whom our heroine is being compared, or similar.
