First off, I want to make it clear that I am not getting rid of the fan polls. At the very least, I have no immediate desire to do so. I've just had this thought for a while and wanted to hear your thoughts on them. How do you feel about the fan polls?

I enjoy the fan polls, it just seems sometimes that your community is very predictable. Might be nice to have each month have a specific theme not necessarily about what the art will be about, but who can be nominated - for instance: game characters, anime characters, characters from specific years/decades, OCs only, hair colors, who knows what else - just to get some more variety. It can be frustrating to see the list come out and know immediately who will win.

I honestly would prefer more original stuff with your characters. Fanart is fun, but original stuff is my preference.

coredumperror

I've always liked being able to vote on what the artists I patronize draw.

Baavy

I like your OCs. I'm also cool with you doing sketchier, less finished/rendered stuff

jam-orbital

I agree that introducing themes could help spice things up a bit. Either way, I say do whatever inspires you the most. 👍

Unpopular opinion but everytime I see polls where people suggest characters that are good candidate for a draw and don't get drawn a lot, you can expect them to be beaten by any character from a super popular franchise (not to mention the same characters winning all the time like Erza/Tifa/Peach/any MHA girl/any Genshin girl...) This is every artist's issue sadly but it's good to see solutions tested like 6 months to 1 year ban on a character or franchise.

I like fan art. I like your OCs. As other people have mentioned there are certain IPs that if they're in the mix almost certain to win. I don't have a good answer for how to shake that up though.

Heavy Blues

I prefer the art of your OCs, generally speaking. I feel like you get a lot more creative and intimate with scenes involving them. I like fanart too, but I'm a bigger fan of the kind of stuff artists produce when making art that's close to their heart.

Themed polls would be neat, another thing you could potentially do is have us suggest more characters per cycle, but you trim the final vote to a select few characters/ideas you like. That way the «predictable» part of polls gets a shake up

ShimizuMaster

The polls are great, but the character variety is extremely stale, in my opinion. Almost always the same characters (usually the more popular ones that already see a lot of DiD works) get the win, it seems like.

I enjoy the idea of fan polls. The fact that the majority of voters never vote for the same characters I want, not so much. ^^; It's always going to be a popularity contest and the outcomes are pretty much given from the start for every poll. I think I'd honestly prefer if you focused on your OC's, or if the polls were limited in such a way that if a character wins, that locks that characters franchise out of future polls for a set amount of time, and that particular character for an even longer period.

MysticRabbit

I haven't had a chance to be a part of one lol

Lillia

I wouldnt mind there being a longer lockout for characters or lock out the franchise instead of the character.

Sineraria

I've grown to really enjoy your OCs and always love to see more of what they get up to. Fan art is more of a nice bonus to me.

I like the fan polls a lot, especially stuff like the recent Clover Goo Tube. For what it’s worth though, I’m 100% on board for more OC stuff, even at the expense of some fan poll stuff
