Just to quickly clarify hyunjin was only in the first round of kingdom. Due to bully allegation (which was proven to be false) he was put on a hiatus. Also this is one of my fav skz covers they did amazing!

The results of this round were so controversial that Kingdom had to revise the way they scored points afterward. The I'll be your man performance also became the most popular one from the entire show and their score has been speculated to have been intentional to build tension and make it seem less sure that one group would always score well. It was a very emotional performance for Stray Kids as a lot of the story was in honor of Hyunjin who was on hiatus at the time and almost left the group.

stray kids had a series called SKZ SONG CAMP, in the episode with han, seungmin, and i.n, seungmin accidentally played the wrong key on the keyboard while trying to play a song, which instead happened the first note of "ill be your man", they all shuddered and said it was literally trauma/ptsd 😭

a lot of people tried to take away ateez’s win when this episode aired. it was so unfair how they were treated on twitter. i think they did amazing.

Tbh I don't think SKZ expected to rank that low 'cause you could sense they were genuinely surprised by the results. It's the editing that makes it seem like they expected it which is wild to me because that was one of the most memorable performances of that skow; even non skz fans gave positive reviews about it at that time and they gained new fans as well.

I remember being very shocked as well not necessarily because of the ranks but more because of the scores. The gap between 1st and last was so big that it makes you wonder how displeased/unimpressed the "experts" were by Stray Kids performances. Also the editing, bro ... since the overall vibe between all the contestants was so good they (mnet team) jumped at every opportunity they had to make things dramatic. Was that necessary to shove a camera in front of I.N face (for that long) when he was blaming himself after their performance ? And they did it again with SF9 Jaeyoon later in the show.

i will never get over this epsode because for me they had one of the best suited reborn performances, i was not expecting 1st but i would never put it last, i feel that one of the reasons stray kids didn't rank well was simply because their performance, while impactful as others, left a feeling of grief, as the storyline is about sacrifices so people will give preference for the most hyped ones

The most logical explanation for why SKZ and BTOB ranked last is because the concept of reborn was to take another group’s song and make it your own. The other groups ranked higher because they altered the songs to suit themselves and make it sound like it belonged to them. BTOB and SKZ interpreted Reborn as trying something different or using “reborn” as a theme for the performance. The songs they chose were atypical of their own styles and despite fantastic performances, the judges were expecting songs typical of each groups (e.g. a ballad for BTOB).
