gonna be honest, 17 year old me felt ABSOLUTELY BETRAYED on behalf of taki when niki voted for him. to the point where i actually had to warm up to niki when he made it into enhypen. it was one of those things i just couldn't forget; especially when taki kept talking about how happy he was that niki was there with him and that he could rely on him. present day me on the other hand—i understand why niki did it and i'm glad he at least told taki his reasoning before voting him out. i doubt many of the others did that for each other. it's still sad to see, but they're kids, they overcame it and as jessi once said "we are not a team, this is a competition".

girl I get you it took me a while to accept it too. the whole situation was crazy, and even though I didn’t entertain any of the hate people were throwing around, I won’t lie I did find myself questioning things that he did. but looking back, he was honestly way more mature than I was at his age. I was 16 then, and he was already so rational for someone that young.

AGREED! it’s the maturity in his decision making process that younger me didn’t acknowledge—but i’m seeing it now. i also found myself second guessing everything that he did (i don’t even think i voted for him). but once he debuted in enyhpen, i realised he was literally just a kid trying to make it as an idol and seeing taki so happy for him made me happy for him too.

i’m aware that niki didn’t choose taki out of any form of malice or as a way to get rid of him. they’re friends and close ones at that for goodness sake. but my 17 year old sentimental self took what niki did—no matter how well-intentioned—as betrayal and nothing less. i know taki needed to improve and improve FAST because his overall skills were significantly behind his peers; due to how young he was and how short his training period was more than anything else (i honestly would have preferred that he trained a little bit longer before being sent to such an intense competition). sending him to the ground at the beginning was honestly the best way for him to improve AND it made the most sense. but, honestly, all i kept thinking was “even if everyone else voted for taki (which they did), niki shouldn’t because that’s his friend and i wouldn’t do that to my friend; no matter how much they needed to improve”. i wasn’t thinking about anything other than how i would act in niki’s shoes and that isn’t fair to him because i-land, fundamentally, isn’t built on friendship. sometimes people have to be “cruel” to be kind and, ultimately, I STAND BEHIND NIKI FOR MAKING THAT DIFFICULT CHOICE!!! i hope this made my stance clear maisie :)

im just now watching this but omg the votes for sunoo were just plain unfair and mean cuz he got the most votes in for his team then was the only one praised by the judges and had the best facials, vocals, and parts in the intro but got the most votes ? i was baffled 😭😭
